My daughter has minor learning disabilities and just has not been able to learn to ride a bike, so we got a tandem so we can ride together. We really enjoy it.

Tandems are SO much fun. I love being able to chat as we ride, and I love that my husband is a good bug shield and I can ride faster with him along. =D He loves me pushing up the hills. Good times! The only thing we have to negotiate on is cadence. He likes to spin fast, I like it super slow. We end up somewhere in the middle.
Edit: Remember, the stoker's job is to pedal. The captain's job is to keep the stoker happy. If you're the captain, what the stoker says goes.

Just saw this. My wife and I have been riding a tandem since 1997. We find that we can go farther and faster on a tandem than on two single bikes. We have also added a tag-along and a trailer on the tag-along and we would get a lot of stares as we rode through town with three kids in tow.
We just acquired a tandem bike by chance. We got it tuned up and ready to rock. Thanks for the video this was very helpful!

One question! Why you don't have a spongy wonder saddles? =) Especially good with tandem because you're sitting more and stoker can't see holes on road.

we havea tandom recumbent, my husband has a stroke and he can not ride alone and the tandomm got us both back out riding, it is the best thng we ever did for ourselves
i work for a baseball team and we're thinking about buying one of these for our two mascots to ride together. very good video! i think we're going to spring for it :)
I have a KHS Tandem Sport and no issue on length or mounting on my bike rack.

One step up from a normal tandem is an e-tandem :) This makes all the difference if you cycle on hills.
No shame having assistance. It transforms really intense effort on climbs into reasonable effort.

Brad, It looks like it's time to upgrade to a Co-Motion, Calfee, or Paketa, IMHO. That old Trek has got to be hard on your stoker's back.
Wow guys i just realized that by doing "Yoga" you basically attend to most of the physical issues that might creep up on you as you get older. If you guys are knowledgeable about Yoga, can you do a video on that please and the benefits of Yoga? You guys are great please keep it up. I am in the sporting industry and just watched the video about bicycle set up. Simply beacause people just hop on a bike and start to cycle, they get joint pains and stop cycling. A more extensive bike setup video, with the setup for the upper body explained , would be great. A lot of people get back and shoulder joint pain as well, because of incorrect bicycle setup.
Less likely to get stolen.

We just bought a tandem. We currently have it in the shop going through it making sure it’s sound and replacing a spring that is broken on the front derailleur. We both love to cycle, I ride long distance rides and she is working on building herself up for long distance rides as well. We happened upon this bike by chance one weekend and jumped on it. We are really looking forward to riding on weekends 30-50 miles.

We rode along the Danube River bike path from Germany to Budapest. My bride/stoker took dozens of beautiful photos, smoothly and without wiggling the bike. Wonderful.

Whereever your relationship is heading, on a tandem you get there faster.
Trying to get my wife interested as she has had her 2nd hip replacement and now a knee as well due to a childhood disease and her being in a lower body cast for a year.
Edit: She also damaged her rotator cuff at work last week
