Yan was itching for a fight, to redeem himself but everyone in the top 10 is booked except Rob who is recovering from a car crash (Chito). The Suga Show brings more attention (fans & haters) out of all remaining top 15 fighters. It's the only fight that makes sense from a team Petr Yan perspective. He doesn't even deserve this fight, and losing to Yan won't look as bad as losing to someone like Chito, so i don't know why we give him credit for a situation that offers a very high reward. It's like giving Leon Edwards credit for taking the Usman fight for the belt. Yan should get more credit for taking a fight like this cause every fighter has a punchers chance.

I’m an O’Malley fan and I think he’s a legit contender, but I want to see him tested. I want to see him fight through a knockdown, or a bad cut above the eye. I think the haters would quiet down if he got a win fighting through some real adversity.
Yeah I agree I mean people forget that the guys he beat are still UFC fighters that would beat up 99.9% of the population at their given weight and he beat them very easily. Chito beat him with the nerve kick which is part of the game but still a freak shot so who knows how that finishes same with Munoz. I think the haters that think Yan is going to just beat his ass are going to be sorely mistaken. Not saying he will win but I think it will be a good fight. When your as popular as he is the haters come out of the woodwork and most have no idea what their talking about.

Can't blame them for thst take though tbh.
Happy Suga is taking the risk and stepping up the competition imo. If he loses, it won't tarnish his image too much so I see this as a worth while gamble imo.
Most definitely! And worst case he gets major bump up in experience and it will set his mindset on a practical yet extremely heightened level. Respect 🙌 to him definitely for going after Yan. Yan lacks reach but he's a lil beast if sugar does things as he sees himself and Yan can't lil man beast mode him it could be a great fight.
I thought its pretty obvious why Yan took the fight, pretty comfortable matchup where he poses strong advantages everywhere. Suga is arguably the biggest draw at 135, more eyes and a straightforward W.
And make a bit of money before his next run at the title. It'll be a fun fight to watch.
This is an extremely dangerous fight for Yan. Sean has the speed and striking power advantage. He controls distance very well and has like a 9 in reach. Petr is a gangster for taking this fight because he has everything to lose here
I have to agree. I have to check the odds but Yan seems like a good bet. O’Malley is great but Yan is different.
Never mind. Yan is -400 and O’Malley is +300. I’d go with O’Malley with those odds and I think he wins often enough to make it profitable.
@@fruitlandgrizzly Idk why u think Sean has the speed and power advantage, when its so clear Yan dominates in that department. The only thing O'Malley has over Yan is 9 inches in reach. Yan dismantled Cory who had a similar reach advantage. Only way Sean wins is by putting Yan out cold, Yan arguably has the best striking defence ever.
Sure Yan's putting alot on the line but, no disrespect to Sean, its a straightforward Petr W unless smth freakish happens.

Everyone, including me, really feel that going all the way up to Peitr Yan is doing too much. Yan is a destroyer of anyone who tries to stand and bang with him. There were a lot of contenders between Yan and Pedro he could have fought first. Oh well.....we will see what happens now....
Yan is going to beat the piss out of that dude. O'Malley is a damn clown. I kinda like him but what's he done honestly?
Would have agreed before, but the last fight with Aljo Yan looked like anything but a world beater when most expected him to take his title back and destroy Sterling he looked very human and lost...
I think if that Yan shows up Suga can definitely beat him and prove he deserves to be up the rankings.... he said in the past he wasn’t fighting at his level and taking fights outside the rankings because he was saving them for his next contract and didn’t want to take tough fights when he wasn’t being paid a lot... so he was waiting to his next contract when he proved he was a draw and deserved better pay than his first contract... I believe this Yan fight is his last on first contract... so I think he feels like testing himself and proving his worth going into negotiating his next contract... to show he won’t turn down a fight against a high ranked opponent. This is probably the first and only high ranked opponent that’s been offered to him... and probably only turned down a fight or two with bottom of the rankings fighters before. Sean has been smart though building his hype and capitalizing on the name UFCs platform has allowed him to have to make money on his own outside the company even making bare minimum per fight on his first contract. He’s made himself a draw and made money on his own. So he should be paid six figures a fight on his next contract.

@@michaelknight5295 anything is definitely possible, I’ve seen it all in combat sports. Sean says he’s actually got a really good ground game and wrestling and such but he hasn’t needed it in any of his fights so far because everyone’s been happy to just trade strikes... so we’ll see... this is no doubt his biggest test and we’ll see if it shows he got more rounded game to him than just striking and stand up... as I said few months ago I would say this is a terrible fight for him and Yan would rag doll him but Yan didn’t look that good... I imagine Sean has quite a bit of reach advantage against Yan too so he might be able to keep him at bay from trying any take downs on him.
Not saying I think Sean will def win but only the fight is more intriguing going right now than a few months back and Yan look beatable if he shows up like last fight and tries to stand, Suga Show might continue and build more hype with an upset knockout. This fight set up actually seems eerily similar to Mcgregor Aldo fight that made the rising star Conor become a true star in the sport. This fight may turn out to be the real beginning of a new superstar in the sport of Suga gets a convincing knockout on Yan.
Looking forward to it. But surely yea the smart money is on Yan and probably a relative boring fight with him controlling him on ground.
Either way we’ll either see Suga tested for real, or see that he’s capable of more and either little hit to his stock with a loss or he beats one of the top ranked in the division and gets close to a title shot and see his stock rise and the Suga Show continue. He can’t really lose in this fight unless Yan starches him and knocks him cold in the first which is unlikely... Sean doesn’t like getting hit and his style is such that he rarely gets hit or gives up a clean shot that could knock him out. I dont think he wins but I don’t think he gets destroyed, I think we’ll see more than we have from him, get tested a few times and lose a close fight.
@@jamessorge3197 I think that last fight Yan was completely out of sorts. His hole team was denied visa being from Russia. My prediction is if O'Malley tried to box Yan he will get picked apart bad really bad. From what I've seen so far O'Malley has had problems with elite fighters. Chito was busting his ass up before O'Malley faked that foot injury lol. Sorry had to put that jab in there. I kinda like O'Malley he is fun to watch but he is a clown and kinda looks like one. Yan TKO second round. Although Yan doesn't show it much but he is Russian and Russians all love to wrestle.
Yan by tko doesn’t matter the round
Delusional casual
135 is 🔥 right now...
Top 10 is nothing but entertaining. Props to O'MALLEY for taking this fight.
Dude! Schmitty has lost crazy weight since moving with Sean. Good for him.
