I'm a die hard Madridista, but also love Arsenal. Very happy Arteta was able to convince Odegaard to join the club. Madrid did the right thing, you can't just wait and sign players with Odegaard's quality at 24yr young or near their prime anymore, unless you have oil/state money. Martin is amazing, but at that time, it's foolish to bench Modric, Kroos and Casemiro. I really hope Odegaard wins the prem with Arsenal.

In Norway, Ødegaard was almost treated like our own Messi when he first started playing. The move to Madrid didn't exactly calm the hype down, but after a few years of nothing happening a lot of people started doubting that he was gonna be what we all thought. But now at Arsenal it seems like he is finally turning into the player we thought he was 5 years ago.

The move to Madrid was what stunted his career in the early years. His dad was a bit selfish for choosing Madrid just because he could get the youth coach job. To go from Strømsgodset straight to Madrid was never really gonna work. Look at Haaland and Bellingham who planned their career steps gradually before moving to a top club. Glad he now finally get his career back on track with Arsenal, it could've been a lot worse.

I'm a Real Madrid fan as well, but I really don't blame him for not "having the patience" to waste another 2 years of his career on our bench. Look at what he's achieved at other clubs when he's been out on loan. He had a slow start at Herenveen, but his performance level at mid-table club, Vitesse was so impressive that his individual stats were up there with the best players at Ajax.
His performance output actually regressed a bit after he was, again, loaned out to Real Sociedad. But that's where people started noticing him since it was in a more widely accessible league. And now he's the captain for Arsenal. We decided to pull him back from Sociedad for only half a season, and he spent that time mostly being benched before we suggested yet another loan move for him, but to a different club. I wish he had stayed at Real Madrid, but he's had the patience of a saint for us.
I've been a fan of Real Madrid since 1999, and I don't recall any other player on our books being shipped out on loan as many times as he did. I don't know what our plans for him were, but I don't think it benefits anyone to have to constantly change their environment.

I can tell this because first of the clothes everybody is wearing (that is not a suit) are "bunad". A traditional clothing. And secondly, they are marching in a big line down the town. Which is a tradition every 17th of may. In the line there are either a bunch of different pass time clubs or schools. Which all have their own banner.

I'm so happy Odegaard found his place in Arsenal. He and his team made a horrible mistake choosing Real back in the day. I am convinced he would have emerged among the top players earlier if he had gone to a club like Ajax or Dortmund then. He was great all along. But in Real B and Herenveen he was really wasted. It was like using a F1 car in dirt rallies. As soon as he got the chance in decent clubs with better players around him he started shining again. So 3 years "lost" there. He would probably started becoming a regular at 18 or so in Ajax and ready for the move to a top club like Arsenal at 20-21.

I knew him when Madrid first signed him as a very promising teen from Norway i felt bad for him when he just couldn't get in the Squad and was being loaned everytime i thought he was gonna be another Kubo. Arsenal and Arteta literally saved this guy.
But Florentino Perez and Madrid scouting is just superb, they spot World Class players from a very young age just look at Hakimi, Theo Hernandez and Brahim Diaz, Regullon at Spurs almost made it but collapsed as first as he rose.

  • @press-resistancemidfielder779

current situation would have been great for him to really get in the midfield of Madrid, with the slower transition from Modric, kroos to younger midfields. i really wanted to see him play in Madrid jersey more,. but alas, he is having his great days at Arsenal so i hope for his attainment there.

How on Earth did Real Madrid not give this guy a chance in their team oh wait at the time Luka Modric was still at the top of his game still is right now and Toni Kroos was another who also started every game. He had so many loan spells, but at Arsenal Martin Odegaard is finally fulfilling his potential and he found a permanent home. He's delivered this season and he's been brilliant on the ball with his passing and playmaking silky dribbling this season and he's added goals to his game too. I guess Erling Haaland isn't the only Norwegian taking the premier league by storm this season. When we talk about the best midfielders in the world in the last 5 years, Kevin De Bruyne is the first player name we hear but Martin Odegaard on current form is up there with Kevin De Bruyne on current form only and could he reach newer heights yes because he'll add consistency to his game. Martin Odegaard is top class and has been one of the best players in the premier league this season. Things didn't work out for him at Real Madrid, but at Arsenal Martin Odegaard is delivering on the promise he had as a teenager and he'll keep up his current level.

It's sad when top talents sign to a club like Real Madrid where they compete against the best in the world. It's already challenging in the footballing sense but it's also discouraging and frustrating for the young lads. Chelsea, Real Madrid, etc., they are the dream killers. Look at Haaland, he's had a smart career. First at Salzburg, top player in the club, moved to Dortmund when he was ready, became the top player for the club, and now at Man City, playing his best football so far. That's how you progress.

When you have player like kross modric and case you are likely to ruin some career. But thats part and parcel of big club we lost hakimi, kovakic becoz of that legendary team. And its okay he was just at wrong time at wrong place we literally almost lost fede but it was his commitment that made him future captian. Just after his departure kross was injured and thats how fede became imp. One loss is other gains. Becoz of him we got cama so no hard feeling we tried but in end he was short on time and we were short on time. But is okay. It is what it is 👍🏻 happg for him but he is still not on that madrid level tbh he is good but still cant bench cama fede kross modric tbh so its okay

It was so weird when he came in at my club. Sc Heerenveen. You could see the potential was there however everything was half a second off and some lack of confidence. He didn't do great at Heerenveen especially at the start however he got back to basics and those became good and then he could finally start shining at Vitesse. He really should have gone to the Netherlands or Portugal first before going to Real. Would have probably developed faster / more. Also Vitesse's players where not that much better then Heerenveen's at the time. Also Odegaard wasn't planned as De Jong's replacement at Ajax. The idea was more he would play right with Ziyech moving centrally or in case Ziyech got sold.
