Still a bit surreal as a Norwegian Gunner, that the captain is Ødegaard. Been following Arsenal since the late 90s and never imagined a Norwegian would be leading the charge for a team like this, fighting for silverware. Really proud of him, so humble and down to earth, yet such a strong heart and technically he's outstanding. His dad is also the manager of my home team, and saved them from relegation at the last minute the previous season in the Norwegian League which is a bit mad.

I was in Stavanger years ago and surprised to see so many Arsenal fans, the family I stayed with were also Arsenal & Man U fans, maybe its a red shirt thing 😂 🇳🇴
There were so much pressure on him to be THAT 18 years old wonderkid at Real Madrid. But maybe that is not his destiny, cause he is meant to be a 24 years old captain at the Arsenal and about to (hopefully) win the PL. Either way, my opinion on him is that he is a very smart, articulate, valiant and extremely talented young man. And i am sure this there are so much more we gonna see from him.

A part of me (as an Arsenal fan) died the day Cesc (El Capitan) left us, when we most needed him.
That part lives again. Ø captain, my captain.
I haven't bought a player name kit since #4 Fabregas. I loved Cesc, and i felt the same way when El Capitan left. I kind of swore off player names after that just because i didn't want to make the connection to a player again who would just leave eventually.
Odegaard changed my mind this season. Reading his Player's Tribune and then watching this video changed it.
#8 LS alternate (pink) kit is ordered and on the way. O captain, my captain indeed.

I was sad too to see Cesc leave. It was not his fault, I wish Arsenal and Arsene would push for couple of big transfers that time. Both RvP and Cesc were on their prime, we could have won 1-2 titles if we made the team just a bit stronger.
But now I have grown up and see it in a different angle too. I think he made the good decision leaving us that time and went on to win big things.

I wasnt really a gunner before, or even a true supporter of any other team then my little home town club. But that all changed when ødegaard joined arsenal. I had been following his whole career pretty closely before that, just loved his style.. so i started watching arsenal games because of him.
Pretty quickly i fell for the club and started believing in this rebuild process the gunners have been going through. All the young guns breaking through and the playstyle just makes spectating a joy and it makes it easy to be a fan. Watching this process reminded me what a great club this is and the beautiful football they used to play before. I also love the fact that this isnt a mercenary team built on dirty money, its a proper club, its proper club culture. I can support that!
So anyway, now im a gunner, i watch all the games.. and my favorite player is the captain. Been a fantastic fan experience and i just cant wait for the rest of the season.

In my opinion, Martin is the best Captain we've had at The Arsenal since Patrick Viera....... he leads our club by example, he's an absolutely phenomenal Captain and a phenomenal playet.
Martin is class both on and off the pitch and I like the fact that he says he feels that our club is his home..... and the fact that we got him for about £30 million makes it even sweeter.
This lad is only going to get better and better and we'll have his best years.
Liverpool supporter but since Odegaard came to Arsenal I've enjoyed them more and more. When Jesus arrived this year, he and Odegaard and Arteta took the rich Gunner culture to another level of integrity and passion and old fashioned pure joy for football.

Been following PL-football for 30 years, although never really supported one particular club. (Simply the love for the game has been enough)
As Norwegian, I must admit that I've paid extra attention to the clubs who had Norwegian players. One such highlight was Solskjær scoring the deciding goal in the CL-final for United.
But recently, over the last couple of seasons, with Ødegaard joing Gunners, then getting to see the inside of the club through the All or Nothing-documentary/reality, I must admit it has opened my eyes. Really a club to love. What a squad, what amazing football they play, and with an incredibly passionate manager in Arteta, who even comes across as a real great guy himself. A true decent human being and a leader. And stories about former iconic players, returning as managers for the very same club they made their legacy, always gets me.
I've been hoping The Gunners to take home the title this season, and while it looked so good, so long, it now seems a little too hard with City and their momentum...(and typically enough, a Norwegian striker tearing through record after record! 😏)
Still, this young Arsenal-squad are simply now leaving the starting blocks of something great. I don't think anyone TRULY expected them to be a contender for the premiership title this early anyway.
Within the next coming 3-4 years, I just know that they will have won something significant. Hopefully still with Ødegaard.
And maybe simultaneously that other blonde, slightly longer haired Viking could trade in his light blue shirt for a red and white one...? 😄 (I know, won't happen!)
