How good was Marco Reus actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most talked about players we've seen over the 2010s in football. In this episode we take on Marco Reus who played for Dortmund, Borussia Monchenglabach for most of his career and even reject Bayern after his friends Gotze and Lewandowski betrayed him.

I am here after Dortmund bottled the title once again. I feel so damn sorry for this man.
Bro, how do you guy bottled the league like 10 times in the same season. I understand Arsenal lack depth, and got injured key players, on top of having top form city. But Bayern are in fucking decay. You can't bottle the league every other weekend
SPAIN but without the S 😭💔
@@thedragonsamurai7496 im a bayern fan myself lol
I'm a Bayern fan so I'm happy they won but I cant help but feel bad for Marco
@@jjj8317Dortmund also have no depth what? Without Brandt they got out of the ucl, no Bellingham they bottle the league etc.
I cant belive he just lost it 😭😭 its actually heartbreaking
Bro I’m so disappointed
Borussia Dormunt are the German Arsenal. They fucking bottled it like 10 times this season. You can't be this fucking bad bro
@@KingofFootball663 I can't believe everyone believed in such a Trash Club. We need an actual Team
Sad.. players who never win trophies just to be forgotten
@@hessen5498ortmund is bad? Who tf do u even support? Schlotterbeck, Guerreiro, Brandt, Bellingham, kobel, reus, HALLER, malen, Adeyemi etc all trash?
And he still didn't win it today. Marco Reus is the reason why I chose Dortmund as my favourite Bundesliga club. Loyalty. What a player he once was too.
He will win it as a Manager for them one day, i am sure of that.
He should've left dormund a long time ago
As every Tottenham fan think Kane should leave for throphy
same here R K , same here. Marco Reus is not only my fav player , but he also heads my Fifa23 team and is a scoring machine ..... i just make sure i have plenty of back up injury cards ...... shame we cant use those in real life .... 200 coins to remove a injury so you miss no game time lol btw he gets injured ingame about ever 4 or 5 matches on average lol the game mirrors real life apparently.
@Eavy Eavy it's better than been remembered for your loyalty only I mean muller has been loyal to bayern for ages and he has 32 trophies.. that's loyalty and success
Don't feel sorry for him. Feel respect. He gave his life for a cause, for a Club he loves. Made a choice and owned it. Kept his word and promise until the very end even as he saw his friends and companions leaving for greener pastures. And even with all the injuries he kept coming back and still performed as needed. Most of us would have already backed down or quit.
Nothing but respect for Reus!
It's literally his own fault
Of course we all have imense respect for Reus but we all would love to see him finally get rewarded for once, he deserves way more than just one Bundesliga title which he still doesn't have. It's so sad to watch, it literally hurts to watch :(
@@thombogd1022 like I said it's his fault
@@miroslavtikvicki5247 one bad performance by him when he was a key part in their title races for years suddenly invalidates what he deserves for serving the club as well as he did? don’t be stupid.
@@fr3stylr322 you don't even know why I said that
It's over for Reus. Dortmund once again threw it all away and now he will never win the Bundesliga with Dortmund as long Bayern Munich continue to dominate. I truly fell sorry for him considering he's my favourite German player.
Reus doesn't need to win the Bundesliga to remain the player I enjoy watching the most (Isco being a close second), but really it's depressing. I already saw Gerrard going through the heartbreak. Reus suffering a similar fate would be just miserable.
@@ishaandas3006 At least Gerrard won a Champions League and a UEFA Cup. In fact a league title was the only thing that eluded him.
Pretty sure he has enough time for 2-3 seasons in another club. Will he leave tho? Probably not
It's literally his own fault
Interestingly, in the last three Dortmund matches this season in the Bundesliga, he scored in each one.
Players like Reus, Del Piero, Totti, who are loyal to one club are extremely rare in this day and age, hard luck Reus💔
Not really
Dont forget Maldini basically played for AC milan his entire football career
@Yuri it isn't hard to stay loyal to an elite club like ac milan
Dont ignore Muller he has been in bayern for almost his entire career
@@Outlift.it's easy to be loyal to a club that's winning the trophies every single season
As a Dormund fan, I have infinite respect for this man. He's stayed with us time and time again even after the most tragic heartbreaks that we've suffered in recent years, including the one today. I really thought this one was it but we played like we had already won and it just wasn't meant to be. Regardless, he will have a special place in the hearts of us bvb fans for a very long time. I just hope he will be able to win it one day.
He's like harry Kane at Tottenham
i feel you man.
You need a legendary manager. I saw no heart, no rage, no desire to win that last match. I was mad and I’m not a Dortmund fan.
The fact that he still lost it makes it even more sad, the loyal servant that received nothing in return 😞
He will win it as a Manager someday. He is definitely someone that has the talent to transition into a World Class Manager.
@@unnamedshadow1866 Thats just messed up
@@hankagura5355 that's not messed up at all. Imagine a Borussia Dortmund player that loves the club. Finally wins it as a Manager, the emotion. He is already a Legend at the Club. But that would basically just give him a Statue and even a Stand named after him.
I do hope he wins it as a player, but if he doesn't he can do it as a Manager. He has been coached by some of the Greatest Managers, and he has the mental skills to be one of the Greatest in 10 years.
I’m sure he’s happy. He makes good money and just chills.
@@unnamedshadow1866 Im a Bayern fan so I dont give a shit 🤷♂️👍
I'm crying. You carried us Marco. Danke😭
I can’t believe this came up after the Dortmund loss. I loved Reus as a player because of how a baller he is and loyal he is to Dortmund. Gutted as hell 💔
It's literally his own fault
😭😭😭 I genuinely feel sad for dortmund and Reus man deserved the bundesliga. This is heartbreaking
It's literally his own fault
Honestly, Reus has something that many pros dont have.... He is a legend because of loyalty and honesty and he is such an icon and fan favourite because of that. Also many say he is one of the last true club legends that the Bunedsliga may have.
So he doesnt have titles going for him, but he has respect, glory and a status that others may only dream off.
That's true but Muller is also a one club man....both playing for rival clubs
I live in dortmund and as a university student I worked a side job for a beverage delivery service. One day I was driving into that high class district to deliver some drinks... rang the bell and standing infront of me was not reus but his now wife and only then did I notice at whose doorstep I was standing. I wish it would have been him to tell him, as a BVB fan since birth, that he will forever be the goat for BVB fans and that his loyalty is unmatched in modern football. I just hope they will beat real as he really deserves to win the CL
what kind of curse is marco under ,i can't believe they bottled it again , i feel for the fans inside and outside the stadium ,i can't even imagine what reus is feeling now
It's literally his own fault
The Reus Era will NEVER be over. It's cause of people like him, loyalty exists in this world sometimes
What a player he was meant to be. It's truly sad to know that he still hasn't been able to carry the bundesliga. It's only respect I feel for him. What a player!!!
That "listen to this," never gets old!
The thing that broke my heart today about this is that not only did Dortmund lose it on goal difference, but they lost it against Mainz, the former team of Jurgen Klopp, who led them to their last title before Reus joined.
Also, just for the hell of it, I looked Reus up on Ultimate Team. The man has been an 85+ every year he's been on Dortmund. Even this year. Still puts him in the Top 100 players in the world. My heart absolutely breaks for him. And OH DEAR GOD I JUST SAW HOW BAYERN WON. It could have been a miracle for Dortmund, except for a 89th minute Bayern goal. God that HURTS.
Bruh...
Still a legend in my book for being so loyal!!
Respect from 🇿🇦
Y.N.W.A
GERMAN SPURS! WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU! 😭 I really wanted Reus to lift the trophy, man
It's literally his own fault
Dortmund Actually wins trophies from time to time, Spurs cannot be compared to anyone but Tottenham
@alittlehippo Leverkusen. Oh wait...
A video about Ailton would be fun. A brazilian that was always a bit overweight but still outran every defender on the field, to the point where he was called "Kugelblitz" which means as much as "lightning ball", referring to his stocky body. He lead Bremen to a bundesliga victory and 2 german cup wins in 98/99 and 03/04. German footballer of the year in 2004. Legend of the club.
I second this!
Really bad time his team is bottling the league now 😢
Or maybe the impossible happened and they turned the table and won the league can't say
They tried aleast..
Poor Reus, genuinely breaks my heart that he was so close and they bottled it
At least this kinda confirms that Reus will become a Manager once he retires. There is no way he won't want to win a Bundesliga for Borrusia no matter what. If he wont achieve it as a player, then he will try and do it as a Manager.
@@unnamedshadow1866
there is no confirmation that he will be a good manager
It's literally his own fault
Even at the last day, Dortmund bottles the bundesliga to Bayern, that statement at 2:00 is not looking good. Such a talent plagued with injuries and bad luck, I hope people appreciate his career in the future despite his record
to the last seconds of the match even. they're incredible
Marco Reus is one of the best football players, a great shining light in Dortmund and for me, along with Klopp, the reason why I am a BVB fan at the time. Reus charmed and inspired with his way of playing. Unfortunately, he was always unlucky with injuries - otherwise Reus would have at least become world champion in 2014! I will miss him at BVB! Thank you very much for the game intelligence, the many great goals and all the brilliant assists. All the best for the rest - I'll watch MLS too, should there be a move to the USA! ❤❤
His loyalty and contributions to the BVB will make him immortal in the hearts of all Dortmund fans.
Your documentaries are inspiring 🔥gives us the feeling of playing football
I requested this video on the discord, thank you so much for it Lucas!I can't wait to watch it
This man is bigger than legends with tons of silverware. Why? He stayed loyal. He fought through injury time and time again, watched his friends leave and bretray him and dortmund. But he remained. He is a true man and football legend. He is proof that trophies arent everything. The essence of perseverance. He was non corruptable. He is a legend.
Me: Dortmund bottling the league can't feel any worse.
Daily Dose Of Football: *Uploads this video*
Reus's story man uff, and after today's loss, not me but every football lover and fan wants to cry.
It's literally his own fault
Champions League for Marco let's go 🔥🔥🔥
Some people are just very unlucky along with Neymar and Kane….
Dont forget son
Dont forget Michael Ballack.. He is why i always support Germany n Chelsea
How is neymar unlucky? He won everything besides a copa/wc.
Why Neymar is here wtf, excluding Ballon D'or and World cup, he won everything. WTF dude.
neymar nowhere near unlucky
I've been waiting for this, for so long. It's finally time
Its tough to watch because as this video was dropped, bayern hit a late winner against Koln and Reus will miss on the league again
Your videos always impress me with their production and research
Amazing story. Thank you for sharing that wonderful piece of history.
Reus is one of my favourite players, the moment I saw this man playing for BVB in 2013, I knew he was special. It's really sad how much his injuries fucked up his career, but I'll never forget how good he was when he was fit.
Despite all these, he is still my childhood football hero.
This whole saga feels like a modern allegory of modern employment:
Spend your sweat and tears on a half-assed company long enough, and they'll find new ways of robbing more of your happiness from you as reward.
This is why I am going to switch jobs ASAP when I have annual leave renewed next month after 9 years of service, being relied on to bail them out of shit and perform well outside my wheelhouse doing it on bare minimum pay.
I feel for this man.
People will remember him for his loyalty, his integrity and his quality as a player. That he doesn't have titles to his name will not change what makes him a great man and a great player. A lot of those who won titles with Bayern will long be forgotten while people will still remember Reus.
At same time none of Reus' teammates who lost a lot titles to Bayern will be remembered
Reus doesn't remind me of Guti. He reminds me of Totti. A player who actually cares about the fans and has passion for his club. I genuinely respect this man more than any other player in the modern game. I see his 2 pokals and 3 supercups as more valuable than the trophy cabinets of the likes of Paul Pogba or Neymar. Big respect.
Love your videos brother and you have a great voice for it
Marco Reus will always be a legend. Few players could reach the excitement he could create in a game.
My favorite player! Definition of loyalty! Cheers from Portugal meu mano portista 💙🇵🇹
You literally put tears in my eyes right now🥲🥲
This is too painful to watch especially after that match
FINISH THE STORY REUS!
CL final here we go!
Gotzë time at Bayern wasn't a memorable one. But, that league slip was like unlocking a different kind of sorrow for Dortmund and Reus
I love your videos. Please do one on Fernando Redondo next!
today dortmund failed and lost... now your video made me cry. what a hard punch for any dortmund fan
Tell the manager that they fucked up
Borrusia just pulled an Arsenal 💔
DAMNNNN a dream come true for Arsenal and Dortmund has come to an end
he 's the man i always buy in every FIFA career mode i play. Love you my man
It literally feels heartbreaking to see Dortmund bottle the league. So close, yet so far
Respect to gotze for his gesture for reus , everyone should have a friend like him
Title should be "The man who traded life of suffering for a Throphy!" What a legend
The clip of Reus and Lewa smiling at each other melts my heart everytime. One of footballs biggest bromances.
That last shot with Reus and Lewandowski was a masterful editing.
There are 3 things in life you cannot buy: love, immortality and reputation. His career combines all... Marco is an unicorn of a player
As i bayern fan, a part of me wouldn't even care so much if Dortmund one for once. I felt kind of bad for the dortmund players when we won. Musiala is my favorite players tho so I'm very happy for him
Has to be the most heartbreaking story I've ever heard on this channel. My heart bleeds for him
Reus.. my all time favorite Bundesliga player for the past decade..
Though he's injury prone, every time my fav club having rumors link with him, I'm very happy, even when I know he will never come..
it's really heartbreaking hearing the story of Reus, and then hear him saying that the silver lining is that if he won against Mainz today, he would finally become league champion.
But as always they bottled it.
It's literally his own fault
I really admired and love reus and it is painful to see such a talent suffer without a reward to show for it
Dortmund's medical staff are the reason he had such a career, look at haaland and gündogan at dortmund vs haaland and gündogan at city interms of injury
haaland had a couple of small injuries at dortmund as well tho
At City they definitely use PEDs.😅 Guardiola was even sanctioned during his playing years for testing positive for nandrolone.
Reus und Dortmund hätte es verdient gehabt. Was diesen Mann so wertvoll macht. Integrität.... Danke dafür Marco❤🤘
Even as a massive Bayern fan I was hoping for Dortmund to win, it would have been happiness for Reus, no more "Farmers League" and everybody would have been happy, most bBayern fansdo not even care about the title anymore, Ich fühle mich scheiẞe für Reus.
Nice vid ✅
Huge respect MR11....I still remember Fifa 17 commentary.... well No wonder in England he is known as Rolls Royce....It's a wonderful goal from a stylish player
This man is my favorite football player ever even more than Messi but looking back on his career is truly heart breaking.
i feel for Reus, so sad how his career went
I feel if Reus would have gone to bayern he would have had all the sucsess he dreamed off. but his own mistakes kept him from excelling
Football is an emotion, sometimes the love and passion of their lives for some players! I didn't really know about him, knew there was a really good player, but astonishingly enough never in the German team. Hope he finally wins something with Dortmund, or else it will be another story of unrequited love and devotion. People like him and Messi (and probably Naruto😅, sorry, couldn't really help it ...)encourage me to dream on and continue believing that if you stick on for long enough and hard enough, you might just be rewarded and find meaning behind your crusade!❤
He was one of my favorite players in FIFA 12
Can't even watch it .. this breaks my heart to pieces 😢
This so heartbreaking for Reus 💔😭
One of my all time favorite players. Could have easily been a gem for any team around the world. Yet he stayed true to his beloved Dortmund. Maybe it was the wrong choice, maybe it was the best. Nonetheless his story is incredible , and he will always be viewed as a legend of football.
Marco Reus boss must be remembered as lifelong cult hero and future legend and I hope to see him winning the German Bundesliga next season with Borussia Dortmund, good friends!!!:-D
One of my favorite players of all time. Reus was something else …
The Underrated Emperor of Borussia Dortmund💛🖤
GREAT player. One of my favourites. SALUTE
This video was sad, but today its just depressing
I remember a huge advertisingcposter from Adidas about Reus placed in the middle of a private house suburb near Saxonia, Asunción, Paraguay in 2014. That is how huge he was, already back then. Even though he didnt win the WorldCup with the others.
Dortmund was so close yet so far yesterday. You gotta feel for the whole franchise and this man.
It's literally his own fault
@@miroslavtikvicki5247How so?
I am surprised you haven't made a video about King Kazu yet

Here watching this one year later as they are going to Wembley
Word can't describe how I feel for Reus. Even though I am not Dortmund fan. But as a fan of football, I really wish for Dortmund to win for Reus..
To come so so so close must be heartbreaking.. don't really think they would have a better chance to win for Reus given that next season is his last year of contract and most likely Bellingham is gone the upcoming transfer window.
If is any player I hope to win something before his career ends, it's Reus
One Of The Saddest Stories, Made Even Worse Yesterday Upon Dortmunds Draw, Despite The Last Minute Equaliser...
I really liked his playing style, and its really sad to see, such a player sad and feeling regrets
these kind of players, will always be remembered and revered. Prizes are for yourself true, so in the end Reus would've liked it differently.
But loyalty, while being skillfull enough to go to bigger clubs, is what makes you a legend. The only other way to do that is to be as good as messi, ronaldo (both), cruijff, etc.
A true legend of this sport
One of my favorite German footballer
I love him since from he was very youg. Luck is not on his side but he is a legend
everyone has a hard luck story but THIS guy ... he takes the cake (in terms of football, at least)
do one about the man, the myth, the legend, the joy of the people! Mantorras!
Was and will ever will be the greatest in my book 💛🖤 hope he will be rewarded
Players like Marco Reus are so few and far between now, and they're the players who make the sport worth falling in love with. Forget the money, forget the bullshit. Loyalty still means something in football.
Enjoyed this, really well scripted video =^)
Bayern were trying to sign him from Gladbach and he choose Dortmund.I remember that well.
One of the saddest stories in football. Once again, he lost.
His story is not over. He is definitely going to become a Manager. And considering the Managers that have coached him, i do believe he is going to be one of the best in 10 years.
@@unnamedshadow1866 it is not the same as winning it as a player
@@magnuslarsen6140 it depends on the player. For example, i believe Guardiola feels more proud about his accomplishments as Manager than his accomplishments as a player.
IMO its way harder to leave a legacy as a Manager than as a player. Specially when you were a good player.
Would fit Reus. I do believe he has nothing to prove as a player, specially to the Dortmund fans that already consider him a Legend.
Had injuries not plagued his career he would have also had an Euro and a World Cup as a player.
As a Manager he wont be limited by injuries, it will all depend on his Skills.
