This is who neymar meant when he said there were people better than him that werent half as famous
Well they were even less committed than he was, so they failed completely.
@@billmartin4093 Which is an achievement in of itself
@@j4genius961you say this as if Neymar was extremely committed early on, he might’ve tapered off in recent times but don’t erase history, young Neymar was a hungry beast on the pitch he terrorized grown men
@@jkl784this all makes for a good story but this kid was no where near the quality of Neymar.
?? The point is whatever potential he had wasn't coming through consistently on the pitch either. That has to be on his shoulders - don't believe the hype, lol.
I hope hes mentally ok and finds his way
His father was his worst enemy
Another father ruins his son by trying to live out his OWN dreams through him....
greed is a mf
@@alba..8479ong
Not just in sports.
@@bundesautobahn7 definitely not,
It became too sad for me when I realised that it wasn’t even his own greed that ruined his career but his father’s. We can also assume that the agent was some nobody who probably asked for a smaller percentage than what a reliable agent would and operated with his father’s logic of: The more he gets the more I get. Truly a very sad story.

I'm a Santos fan, and I remember our team was the greatest of the continent with wonderkid Neymar Jr by the time. Everybody was wondering how good we would be when this guy debut... And suddenly, out of nowhere, he posted on twitter: "I'm leaving Santos 'cause the team underrates me".
That was shocking for us. C'mon man.. he was 15, and had a great contract since he was 11. How could he say that about the club without even playing a single match?
Than all the fans started to hate him.
That was the beginning of his end.
But now I understand what happened. Poor guy.
I don't feel sorry for him.. besides his dad greed, he had no dedication, mentally weak, always looked fat.. and they said he was partying too much too.. he got exactly what he deserved, at the end..
The wonder kid we never get to see 😢
A lot of wonderkids don't make it. Only a few stories like this make it out.
That's the majority of them, the Neymars and Mbappes are actually exceptions
He was a fraud, let's be real.
Father's greed ruined his career, some parents live through children,What a wasted talent, I oways wondered what happened to him.
its really sad how instead of thinking of their childrens future they end up thinking of money they can make
Not enough is talked about agents ruining careers just to get a pay check
Agents? The dad was 100x worse, if only he knew how to keep his mouth shut his son would be a multimillionaire set for generations!
@@j4genius961would he tho ?? Clearly he had plenty of opportunities to play n impress teams but couldn't slack it ..
understandable though he was a kid with the pressure and expectation of nation on him and had no good support around him, he's going to look for escapes from the constant pressure @@dariusbaja21
All kids deserve parents, but not all parents deserve kids.
This saying makes a whole lot of sense now.
That's an absolutely terrible story. His father absolutely ruined any chance he had at a normal career.
We have a similar story in my country Bulgaria, ofc I am not telling that the skill of the players involved is the same but just the story is similar. There were those two boys in the academy of one of the greatest clubs in the country. They made a movie about them at age of 10 or 11 I can't remeber exactly as the biggest stars of the future of this club. The less tallented kid now at age of 20 plays for the first team and is in the national team, while the most tallented one with the highest hopes in it, now at age of 20 is either in the 3rd tier or retired. All started the same way, the most tallented kid was filmed by his father at age of 5 or 6 doing the same things all of the big stars are doing but... at age of 18 when he was ready for his first contract he already was tired from hopes, was fat, he was underfit and ofc wanted unrealistic contract. The owner of the club said this to his father: "Your sun is underfit because of not serious training from his side, you need to hire him private coach to catch up with the rest and then come to me to talk about contract." Also the offer for the contract was on the amount every junior at that club has- no more than 1500 Eur per month(which is totally ok in my country for 18 years old shitter). So ofc his father said all this is a joke, his son is the next Messi and tried to find him a club. All that his manage to find was club from second tier of the country, they took him and started to give him some chance for one season. They even manage to promote in the top tier for the next season while he was 19. There he was almoast completly cut from playing minutes due to... yes lack of fitnes and lack of motivation to train. His thinking that everybody is way under his level and obviously his fathers advises were not the way to progress. After his team was relegated he was released and nobody know where is he now, maybe in 3rd tier or 4th tier in the bulgarian football. 3rd tier of bulgarian footbal is on the level of 17 years old youth academy from the top tier clubs so imagine the level... Everything happend in just 3 years from hot prospect to complete disaster, while his less talented teammate from the academy slowly worked his way to the first team, never to put any condition for contract or salary but just hard work.
This was heartbreaking to watch. I wish him all the best.
Oh!!!I have never really knew him that much but Juan Ceara was a fantastic player but I am extremely so sad to see his father ruined his career, good friends!!!
Jean Chera
thank you, another great video. never heard of jean but such a fascinating story !!!
Same Here
Omg I remember this guy. I used to be on web forums in 2005 and there were so many threads hyping up this kid.
Brilliant video as always, how bout a video about elkeson the Brazilian CSL all time topscorer who represents China now, or even a Leandro Damiao video
Luca you’re actually the goat, all my respect keep it up

This video was too good!
I remember reading about this kid when he was 12. He was seen as the next big thing. I always wondered what happened to him. Another Freddy Adu
Freddy Adu was a migrant who's parents forged his birth certifcate when they came to USA. playing a few years up only last so long in your Jr years.
we need a ganso episode
what ever happened to him? he was destined for greatness at one point
There is a video for that but i think it was on his other channel

wow, sad ending. pure greed from his father. i'm still keeping his video when he was young. one of the youtube sensation in earlier days. with Era song, Divano. even me from Malaysia, recognize him. always wonder what happen to him. thanks for the updates.
Intresting episode!
I happy he's back 🔥 I wish him the absolute best ❤️🥹
I don't watch or play football at all, but i adore this videos.
His father passed away on 31 Aug, this year. A month back.
sad ending. he really want to see his son being successful. but greed conquer all.
I remember watching his video before all this. I believe it was more than 12 - 15 yrs ago i was hyped
I remembered this guy. I've always wondered what happened to him. His father is really crazy ruining his son career. Haven't even made it professionally but demanding so much. He himself has a share of the blame too. Getting out of shape, not practising what the coach demanded. Too big headed. These kind of arrogant people usually the one getting depressed and mentally unstable.
If his father drove his club crazy, the club could just end the contract. (Which they did.)
But if the kid is driven crazy by his dad, the kid can't fire the dad. Just gotta deal with it every day.
Mental health. Don't underestimate the effects of poor mental health
While his father think that everyone is sabotaging his son, it's actually him that sabotage his own son career and ruined his future. It's too bad and shamefull
The Brazilian Fábio Paim
Man! I wanna see him showing up in the prem at 32 for Luton or something. I WANT A BIG COMEBACK!
That’s not how life works at 32 his best days are past him and specially for not playing top level ever
@@K1ngAlexandertell that to Jamie Vardy
@@redhatlt bro it’s not even close Vardy made it to the prem at 27 years old, big difference between 27 and 32. But he’s been working his way up since he was 23, from the 8th all the way to 1st league at 27 (still on his absolute prime). Do you realize Vardy never stopped playing football since since youth club released him at 16? Big big difference buddy

What about that dude called Ganso? I remember before Neymar came to Europe, Santos had 3 players with huge potential and Ganso was one of em, but I never really saw him after that.
He went to Sevilla for 3 years but only played 29 games, and then another 13 for a low tier french club. He had a lot of injuries and couldn't really prove himself in Europe. He's playing in brazilian team Fluminense now
Ganso is gifted with technical abilities and smarts, but he has no dynamics. No presence in the pitch.
He played about 2 years at a very high level in Santos, then got mad the club did not accepted an offer from Internazionale and he ended up getting a serious injury. He was never the same again, and his lack of mobility became too much of a liability. He still made a decent carreer playing for top tier clubs in Brazil, with sparks of brilliance, but not close to his peak at Santos.
He is sort of an old style #10 or #8. The modern game is too demanding without the ball.
@Guizambaldi He also has a pace and agility of an old man.
I gotta say that right now Ganso is living the best moment of his career since the Neymar days. Sure, he didn't achieve the success that some people expected, but he's a key part of the Fluminense squad thats playing the semifinals of Libertadores (kinda like the south american UCL bit not quite).
He lacks speed and dynamics, but is a very talented passer and plays a very pleasing football style (to me at least).
That one refused to join Porto alongside Alex Sandro and Danilo. You could see he thought he was better than that, well, look at the other 2 careers and his... 😂
Plus, he got the knees of an 90yo with sclerosis, he pretty much cant stand being up on his feet...😂 😂 😂
Such a sad story.... Damn😢
Sure his Dad n even that agent are to blame for some of it , but u cant say he didnt get chances to make it . He clearly couldn't impress n keep it all together. N he was playing in some real farmers leagues n couldn't hack it . He has to take alot of the blame as well . U can only blame so much on ur parents or others before u gotta take responsibility for urself n ur actions.
The end sums it up really well. Being a star since 11 years old and the pressure destroyed him mentally.
Jean Chera on ERA - DIvano the best youtube video ever
The wonder kid we always wonder about
I mean this absolutely also applies to Neymar too. Left Barca in his mid 20s and has basically played in shit leagues since for nothing but money.
Absolutely GREAT content. I love your videos.and this guy was horribly treated. I didnt know his story,
Great video. Such a shame his career was destroyed before it started. Hopefully his son inherits his genes and he becomes pro and Jean supports him properly and he has a good career.
A clear example of how ambitions from a delusional father can ruin his son's life. I only wish him the best since I know what's to deal with mental sickness and problems (I had 2 suicide attempts in my life yet I'm still able to live to this day). Good luck out there, Jean.
Make a video about Nikon El Maestro Jevtic. Similar story
I remember watching his highlights back in the mid 2000s
You've gotta do a Ravel Morrison one sometime!

His father was his biggest supporter and his biggest enemy
Narcissism is real. Be careful boys
I the moment I saw the first few frames I knew this was juan carlos chera. Damn I remember him on FM
jean*
God damn. I felt that one.
Not every stone turn to diamond when under pressure. Some just melt away..
I heard about Jean Chera before, this video made me remember this guy exists. I didn't know this guy had to live all of this, he probably couldn't stood by his on when turned a professional, since he never had a real support of his narcisist father in the first place, he probably didn't matured enough mentally at the time due to his bad influence.
It's interesting to know that his son made him reconsider his life as a football player. He never had a peak, but still is 27, maybe now without the pression he can have a more stable career and maybe at least rise to a Brasileirão Série A team in the next years, I wish him the best!
A video for ganso please
Plz do Szobo next
I don’t remember this guy at all. Thanks for the video.
I remember him on Football Manager 2009 as one of the best wonderkids
