They didn't change the rules for Patrick Mahomes lmfao... it was because the Bills complained about not having a chance to score in OT to match against the Chiefs in their AFCCG. That's why the rule was changed so if anyone it was Josh Allen lol

Yeah....Mike Pennel deserves some love too, dominated 9ers so called best player Trent Williams. Mahomes and Kelce are great and it's understandable that they get most of the credit, but Chiefs' Defense were why they won this SB, pretty much every single one of them was awesome... And with them being so young they're only gonna get better, it's just sad that they won't be able to keep them all together for long.
They call the play "corn dog" because it's a stick in a weenie. The weenie is the inside cover guy on the switch... and it's a stick route concept.

I did. I watched Patrick since his first start at Texas Tech. Then I went back and watched his high school film. My son and I knew he would be an NFL star. Best I’ve ever seen with my own eyes.

Chiefs specials teams did not have a turnover on a punt or a blocked PAT so I would say the Chiefs special teams out played the 49ers special teams
No doubt! I keep hearing people praise the 9ers Kicker because he made a couple of 50 yard kicks (indoors), but he missed a crucial Extra Point which changed the whole complexion of the game towards the end. Andy Reid and Mahomes would've probably still got it done but their job was made so much less difficult being a FG behind instead of 4 points. If you're gonna use a draft pick on a Kicker he better not miss an Extra Point in the SB., it's not like the Chiefs Special Teams even had to do anything truly special to block it smh & lol

Claiming the changed the rules for Mahomes is bullshit, they laughed at us when we asked for it, they changed it for Josh Allen the next year.
I took the guys to mean that they changed the rule so that Mahomes couldn't win in overtime without giving the other team a chance. They weren't saying that they changed the rule for Mahomes advantage. They were saying that they were changing the rule because of Mahomes. When Mahomes won without the Bills getting a possession, they changed the rule. Before that, when Mahomes lost in OT without getting possession, the league didn't change the rule.
Just like the refs cheating the Chiefs at the end of the regular season against the Bills ended up making the Chiefs champions in the end because in the playoffs the Bills kicker had to deal with terrible wind in Buffalo. If the refs were honest and the Chiefs got the #1 seed, the Bills kicker would've been in KC for the playoffs and he wouldn't have had to deal with the Buffalo wind.
I think the chiefs AFC game lost to Patriots game influenced the Bills getting their way.
Once the Bills lost. It had now been 2 games in as many of years. Where a great team never got a chance to go on Offense
@@NormEvansChallenges I think its more that the league has been desperate for Josh Allen to take the crown of the best QB in the NFL and Mahomes refuses to give it up. It is much better in their eyes for a NY team (yeah, even if its only Buffalo) to have the crown than a city like KC. There is a reason every single season the league is desperate to crown someone else, they were never like to with Brady. The league REALLY wants KC to fail.

The logic before the change would still have been for the team that won the toss to take the ball; the Chiefs would have been allowed to respond after the 49ers' opening drive field goal; and they scored their touchdown before the first overtime quarter ended anyway.

They changed the OT rules for Josh Allen. In the AFCCG, Mahomes never got the ball against Brady in 2018.
It was changed so the field could be level after the last 13 seconds of Regular Game Time. Against the Chiefs, as Pat himself would say.

The players have to play REGARDLESS of the OT rule, or SHOULD. Fred was dead tired, and tho he didn't APPEAR to be, Mahomes knew where to run and that Fred was tasting blood in his throat and couldn't go one foot out of his way (we've all been there!) to just fall down in front of him to shorten that 19 yd. run. The whole KC overtime drive is "we know the play, and you guys don't, and this game was played LAST YEAR!"

George Kittle 2 receptions for 2 yards!!!! Yes, Kittle's a great blocker, when he knows who he's meant to be blocking! Don't put him in the backfield on the most important play of the game and expect him to pick up the blitz!
Kittle has the ability to get Travis Kelce type yardage but Shanahan just had him blocking, just like the the 1st sb against the Chiefs. Kelce got just 1 yard in the 1st half, but by the end of the game he had around the same yardage as Kittle, Deebo and Aiyuk put together. I love the fact that the 9ers Receivers are all willing to block their asses off for each other, but I struggle to believe that they don't get frustrated that they're not getting the numbers that players of their ability should be getting.
As for Jennings, yeah nice game but reminds me of Gabe Davis in the "Chiefs Bills 13 second game" when Davis scored 4 tds and everyone thought Bills were gonna be a juggernaught with 2 genuine #1 WR's. Chiefs played to stop the 9ers really dangerous players and Jennings picked up the scraps, a la Gabe Davis... It would be foolish of the 9ers to think that Jennings could be "the guy" if negotiations with Aiyuk falter. Aiyuk is far and away 9ers best WR, better than Deebo and levels above Jennings. 9ers really blew it, they won't get a better chance, once they have to pay Purdy they're screwed... They got next year after which they'll need a miracle to win a sb (kinda like Baltimore)

Chiefs have won and lost in ot a lot so they’re not stupid enough to not prepare for it

Antonio Brown did way worse things and was given plenty of chances. Kelce is a team captain who has had a voice with Andy Reid for a long time, it looked worse than what it was. Antonio Brown is a totally different problem and everyone knows it except maybe him.

Shannahan is the frustrating guy. Taking the ball, not running some on third downs late in 4th and OT to set up short 4th downs. Throwing quick slants out of gun with a short QB on most critical 3rd down, faking jet out of empty on a 3rd down in red zone to settle for FG, running inside RB screens after bubble fakes to the same side
I like a lot of his stuff, but some I don't like, and it always seems likes it's something too cute or very odd in big situations.
I don't know whether Shannahan doesn't allow Purdy to change the protection or if Purdy doesn't know how to, but either way, if they'd changed up the protection on a few of the crucial plays 9ers would now be the SB Champs instead of the Chiefs. At the 2 minute warning with 9ers on 3rd down needing 4 yards for a 1st down to pretty much win the SB, Shannahan inexplicably put George Kittle in the backfield next to Purdy and instructed Purdy to throw the ball to McAffrey.... Of course the throw to McAffrey wasn't on and in that split second it took Purdy to move on from C Mac, McDuffie was in his face... Not once did either Purdy or Kittle look to their blindside which is where the blitz came from. Had Purdy not been zoned in on McAffrey he could've thrown at the blitz to either Jennings or Aiyuk and 9ers almost certainly win the game. Shanahan's fault imo
Then to emphasize it even more Mahomes had a similar play on the very next drive, on a got to have it play, Mahomes read the blitz and through it over the oncoming player to Rashee Rice who made a good catch and ran for a comfortable 1st down.
9ers allowed multiple unblocked rushers, most of which were on crucial plays.... How'd they let Chris Jones go completely unblocked preventing Purdy from throwing certain TD's to 2 different wide open receivers???
Fortunately I'm a Chiefs fan, so I'm grateful for Shanahan's F ups!

The 49ers ate so much clock on their drive in OT, which is why the Chiefs were still on their 1st drive as time ran low.
Had it not still been the 1st possession of overtime, it could’ve ended. But Tony Romo did a great job of explaining that to the TV audience 📺

What usually happens is the team that's down is forced to adjust their game plan significantly, and the team that's ahead doesn't always respond to that adjustment well if their coaching staff can't get a good read on it early

The ref explained the rules to both captains before overtime started. Not to mention the fact how on earth did the 9ers coaching staff not get educated on the rule changes? As far as I’m concerned, that was a coaching error. The coaches should’ve known the rules and those are the situations that you practice just in case it happens.

They ran him 31 times, it was ineffective. He averaged 10 yards a catch vs 3.6 yards a carry. Chiefs shut down their run game. yeah they still had over 100 yards rushing, but it was via volume, not quality. All the big plays CMC had was in the passing game.
