The check down at 4:38 is the underrated play of the drive, and an example why Mahomes is such a great QB. He wanted to go deep, thought better of it, and with a pass rusher closing in, he didn't panic, he just flipped it down to the RB for a few yards. A lesser QB would have thrown into coverage deep or taken the sack. He read the SF defense like a book on that drive. Congrats to the Chiefs once again.
even his dump-offs are magic.
Kelce knew once the ball was snapped they had San Fran fooled with the play call and didn’t even have to look 😂❤
I think he was watching it on the big screen:)
That change of direction for a great big man was instinctive and unusual. A great play by Kelce, more or less playing fullback. Looks even better in slow motion here.
"We're good, we're good" - Mahomes also knew, before throwing the pass
49ers were Jinxed by Montana. He should have supported the team that did not kick him to the curb
They were jinxed by Monrana because he just plain got lucky so often that he used up all the luck for the next 100 years.@@drmachinewerke1
49ers tried to play in a unpredictable matter. What’s funny is that the coach of the Chiefs even called out his last play was going to be a fake out as his signature move and that play won the Super Bowl.
The play was called Corn Dog lol same play they did last year to The Eagles
@@bigbearmerriott9056 yep. Same result to!
@@bigbearmerriott9056 Leave it to Andy Reid to have his signature play named after food. Love that guy!
Where/when did he call that out?
@bigbearmerriott9056 actually it was the same principle of corn dog but the actual play was called Tom and Jerry right
The fact that kelce didn’t even block the last play he just stood in front of him makes that even funnier
Perfect decoy 😂
He didn’t even look at Hardman scoring. He already had his hands up before he saw. They knew they had the game won
@@RekttalofBladesI think he looked up at the Jumbotron and saw what was happening just right behind him. But yeah he pretty much knew right away it worked. I think Mahomes and Kelce knew even before the snap it was going to work, you could see the confidence just walking up to the line of scrimmage
He can’t block man he is a receiver there lol most he coulda did is look back for the ball he knew he wasn’t getting
Once he suckered Ward over to cover him he knew Hardman was gonna score. He stopped in mid-pattern and looked up at the Jumbotron.
I'm surprised there was no comment about Pacheco's actually NOT making that first down due to a bad call/placement by the ref. It was the same with Kelce's call earlier.
The last TD to Hardman, “Corndog”, was the same play that Skyy Moore and Kadarius Toney scored on against Philly in last year’s Super Bowl.
They stole it from the jaguars! Vs the eagles last year and did it the past 2 superbowls
@@ryantartarini8297the jags must be really taking advantage of “their play” huh
Bingo good observation those quarterback Keepers was so clean it was textbook and playground at the same time
They called it Tom and Jerry this year.
One of the greatest drives in the history of the sport.
Not really because it was too easy.
@@johnhitz1185bro they had multiple tough 3rd and 4th downs. The last play might have been easy but the rest of the drive wasn't
@johnhitz1185 that's why it was great. They made it look too easy. Nothing in the overtime of a Superbowl is "too easy". One drop, one missed assignment, one bobbled snap, one bone headed penalty, one poorly run route, could have ruined it. Joe Montana had many drives late in games just like this. Nothing spectacular, just winning drives.
Er, I don't think it was that great. The two best plays of the drive were QB runs.
The average depth of completion on the drive was less than 1 yard!!!! It was all YAC and scrambles. Unbelievable!
I feel like Mahomes' big run at the end of the Superbowl last year was also super fast, outrunning Haason Reddick despite the bad ankle
No more excuses please
@@roemellobell ?
@@roemellobellprojecting? "No more excuses." Yet none was given.
Some guys just find that extra gear when needed. It’s what sets the very good apart from the greats.
Mahomes doesn’t look like it but he actually purdy fast. 💥
this drive was simply amazing, no penalties, just pure Mahomes Magic
As a chiefs fan it feels good that people can’t point to a specific play and say it was rigged
I mean you can make an argument for the favorable calls in general but at least that last drive was clean
What about the holding that wasn’t called on the 3rd & 6 from the Chiefs 46 yard line? If McKinnon doesn’t tackle Fred Warner he would have sacked Mahomes to make it like 4th & 13.
@@tmarionhWhat about the dozens of "kinda" missed calls on both teams? Don't try to gain sympathy. 49ers had an awesome game.
@@tmarionh loser mentality
@@ethanscofield1013this is why i love youtube comments. fans of all different teams but way more mature. on instagram and twitter all you see is “rigged” its kids ways of coping because they hate the chiefs because they are successful.
Andy is cheeky cheeky with the infamous “CornDog” play
Yep, but they've changed it to "Tom and Jerry". Seriously. There's a video of the huddle call on that play. Does sound like cartoon gibberish.
Loved how Mahomes did not even think about sliding on his big running play. Easily picked up an extra 10-15 yards
Regular season sliding to protect yourself is smart, in the superbowl, you have a couple months to heal up afterwards
@@coleeto2 Somebody tell the LB...
Bosa bit bcuz the Chiefs ran on 1st and 3rd down from the same formation. Great RPO with Mahomes reading Bosa taking the RB.
I would suggest that Mahomes himself was actually a second decoy. 49ers, 33 & 54 moved toward the sideline to prevent Patrick from sweeping in along his right side while Kelcy was headed for the endzone where he needed to be covered. That allowed Hardman, who suddenly reappeared like a rabbit out of a hat, to slip in between the defensive components and make an easy catch and stroll untouched into the endzone. This is one of the coolest plays ever!! Hardman should get an academy award for his fake motion to the left.
Hell yeah. This is THE DRIVE. Convert or go home!
Enjoyed the commentary. Nice work!
That last run by Kelsey was incredible considering the size of the hole and the number of defenders he had to overcome. Maholmes' run was equally impressive. Getting two 3rd-down conversions and a 4th-down conversion against one of the best defenses in the NFL made the feat even more improbable.
And.. Kelce stops before the ball was thrown looking at the board and basically celebrating. He knew before anyone else that was game over. I wonder what the defender was thinking when he just stopped and looked at the board before Mahomes threw the ball.. Like "OH CRAP, Did I miss something?" Congrats Chiefs!
I didn't even realize that Kelce didn't even see Hardman catch the game winning ball, that's literally how much faith he had in that play!
He was watching TV!
@@kyqx ohh that makes sense haha, I thought he had the spidey sense activated 😂😂
CMC bro that man played his heart out all of the season and played incredible in the Super Bowl
love cmc but jennings deserved superbowl mvp if the 49ers won.
If the Chiefs aren’t winning it, I really hope CMC and Trent Williams get one. Throw Purdy in there too honestly.
Trade cmc to the chiefs and then the 49ers win it next year
Bruh that’s last year quit living in the past🤣😂🤣😂
I don’t understand out of context comments. Was CMC playing defense?
Mahomes Football IQ is unique. He gases the defense out cause you can’t just substitute a starter out unless he’s on Dline. He basically tires defenders out and keeps his legs fresh while throwing from the pocket. Then once he do scramble hes already two steps ahead.
I'm assuming he learned that from Brady against The Falcons.
"Every single time they had to make a play, they did." Mahomes Magic summed up in 11 words.
I want to point out on the 4th&1 run at 2:03 that Kelce running the option crucially zoned Bosa out of a straight cut to Mahomes, forcing him to backstep to his right before being able to readjust, giving a crucial half second of separation and distance for the QB to make that play!
Nooooooooooo he should’ve chipped Kelce also smh
Brothers in arms.
Kelce watching the td on the big screen! Just give Mahomes the crown!
I like this breakdown. The condensed highlights are convenient -- showing only impactful plays -- but the 3-4-yard plays in between are important too.
people are crucifying Bosa. That 4th and 1 was setup with that run play before. If you see the play on 3rd and 1, why would you think the chiefs are not running it when the linemen are with hands down in the shotgun on 4th and 1? People are stupid to crucify Bosa to think he should have been more disciplined. He made a play on 3rd and 1 and thought he was going to be a hero. He tried to do his job
Wonderful work breaking that drive down. Thanks.
Can’t believe that play worked again lol. Teams will 100% work on shutting that down next year. Chiefs should use it to pivot to another target if possible. Great content as always. Thanks for all you do and how quick you get the stuff out,
I’m sure they will. Andy always has gems in his bag of tricks
That's the thing, if they cover the WR out correctly, Kelce is one-on-one for an inside hit
@@deemity7557this is a play he stole from the jaguars vs the eagles last year
They do, he didn’t do any shuffle passes to kelce the whole game. It’s the reason why kc have been winning, we pivot as soon as they pivot
Kelce's running skills are underrated. Great video!
Yes almost as much as his dancing skills. The guy literally has it all. He would be so easy hate if he wasnt so easy to like lol.
49ers picked up #33 Logan Ryan off his couch a month before. He was a backup and ended up going in and blowing coverage on the last TD pass. Too bad, because he's a standup guy and player.
That was a bad spot on the Pacheco catch and run. I know it's at an angle but he's not down until his butt hit the ground and the ball is in his right arm. I get the ref on can't see it on that side of the field, but how did the booth not call down and say anything. If it's short it's a few inches short not half a yard. The funny thing is I think a stoppage for a review would have helped the 49ers regroup.
What great play calling
Underdog has won again!! Hats off to Kansas City
How about those Chiefs!
Underdog???
@@achannel6664 the chiefs were the dog at +2(+1.5 last yr vs PHI)
i dont understand that in every poll and on every betting site i saw everyone thought the chiefs were winning, AND they were already reigning champions, how that in any way makes them underdogs. I dont know what goes into the spreads that are used officially, but nobody I knew thought the Niners were winning this one (and that is not because they liked the chiefs either)
The niners were 3 seconds away from winning the super bowl. I thought they would win until that last play ...
Kelce watched Hardman cross the goal line on the jumbotron
The reason Andy Reid is the best offensive mind in football currently is because he will take plays from HS, college, wherever that are up and coming that no other NFL mind has and remember he took the Eagles to four NFC championships and lost one Super Bowl before he got Mahomes. That play is straight out of college ball, saw a team run it earlier this year.
They won the SB on that play to KT last year, and the same play opposite side to Skyy Moore, its called corndog
Like 1948 ROSE BOWL PARADE
Exactly this. The completions on that last drive, in terms of how far the passes traveled beyond the line of scrimmage, were: 1 yard; 5; 3; 2; (-3); (-3); (-2) and 2.
The two best plays of the drive were QB runs. And those were awesome plays by Mahomes.
But the average depth of completion on the drive was less than 1 yard!!!! It was all YAC and scrambles. Unbelievable!
That is great coaching and scheme.
I never had any doubt that Kansas City would win. Even when they were down 10-0, I told my buddy that Mahomes has them right where he wants them.
And the fact that the defense held SF to 10 points in the first half made me feel much better. The defense was amazing all season & they definitely showed up on Super Bowl Sunday!
The last play was brilliant. Kelce as a decoy, he never even looked back to see, he knew exactly where that ball was going...they all knew exactly what they were doing and it worked. Congrats again to the Kansas city chiefs
Man that defense was horrid second half they couldn't stop Gramma from rushing the buffet line at golden corral
Yup especially their coverage on kelce idk what they were doing
@@mambaASI That's why I blame wilks for his horrible play calling on the last drive in 4th quarter and OT.
Idk but my team won so L
Don’t get in front of grammas walker on lobster night
They got tired because the offense had 3 three and outs in a row
the problem is Mahomes does not like run like this during the regular season. This definitely played a role in the play calling. He defiantly saves his body during the regular season. However, you have to know his background wink wink.
TWENTY-FIVE years of coaching and ELEVEN of them with the Chiefs gets you THIS! Coach Reid is a geeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnius, and keeping Hardman almost 'invisible' in the endzone helped the Chiefs seal the deal- so impressed by that play-calling. Fall-get-up-dust-off-go, go, go!
man, my 9ers lost on my bday.. BA is very emotional, hope he stays. i just cant deny the greatness mahomes and reid has..
Fantastic breakdown. Best I’ve watched so far.
Thx for the ton of videos you are throwing at us right now 👍! Really helps seeing whats going on while during the game I just could not do anything but being on my toes, pulling my hair or what is left of it, sweat and almost faint because everything was so close - as we all neutral fans had hoped it would be!
This was awesome!
It's official, The Chiefs are a Dynasty.
Bosa bit on those inside moves every time.
awesome recap thank you for sharing Jackson!!!!
Hey thanks for the play by play and great Editing.
I heard the game on the radio and this is the first i've seen of it.
Crazy how many times Chiefs were facing 3rd down on that last drive only to extend with clutch plays.
As a chiefs fan even though I know the end result I still have nerves watching this lol
The pundits are now saying because of the fumble by the 49ers, they lost the SuperBowl. No mention of the fumble by the Chiefs on the 9 yard line when they were ready to score.
Good point! KC had some turnovers too! Not just SF.
Nice breakdown! Thanks
The better team won
Crazy that it's the same exact play they won the SB on last season. Even more evidence that the 49ers were horribly prepared for this game.
I loved that last touchdown call and think the 49ers were fools for not expecting it since they used pretty much the same play 2 times against the Eagles last year.
lol Kelce didn’t even see the final TD he knew the game was over when Ward fell for the decoy
“All eyes on me!” 😂
If the official had called the lineman down field blocking on McCaffery's touchdown catch. There may not have been overtime.
Good analysis. Well done
Thanks, new subscriber, great content, all the best
The pass play that won KC the Super Bowl was called twice in last years Super Bowl and the winning pass here. “3 Times” in 52 weeks that play was called. That’s Andy Reid in a nutshell. He’s brilliant.
magnificent
Brilliant work by Mahommes and the Chiefs. I take my hat off to them. Pure greatness!❤
Like that love the way you put that into words
Andy Reid is a master play caller. SF problem is they left to much time on the clock for Mahomes to work his magic.
yup thats why everyone is mad kyle didnt run the ball for three straight drives in the opening 3rd qtr
Exactly this. The completions on that last drive, in terms of how far the passes traveled beyond the line of scrimmage, were: 1 yard; 5; 3; 2; (-3); (-3); (-2) and 2.

And there I was, almost getting sick when clock was running down to zero because the commentators (in ESPN Brazil) did not know that after clock hit zero they would just change sides and continue with 2nd and goal or whatever.
Great video breakdown!
Some of the spots in this game were just ridiculous. How was this 5:40 marked short of the first down?
True !!! And all these tin foil hat types saying the game was rigged in favor of the chiefs...smh...
Look at 4:42. Bosa held again. Over and over all night. It's unbelievable really.
@@kenw2225ah. So much like how Chris Jones was held all night?😂
@@kenw2225 y’all beat yourselves with fumbles and penalties and shit calls
I was wondering the same. I think it is where the knee dropped. It looks like it dropped on the line, but it was probably a few inches from the line.
Pure magic
Best analysis. What a channel!
The fourth and one, was as intense as it gets.
As a Chiefs fan, I feel for Niners fans. That was about as brutal a loss as there is.
Ten point lead, Niners lose that, take the lead in regulation with 1:24 to go, they can't make a stop, take the lead in overtime, and they can't hold it.
I kept thinking, how many times can the Chiefs keep going to the well, expect water.
That SB winning TD play is the same play as last year's SB TDs. That play should be imprinted in all the NFL defense's brain.
That final play was the same play they used to beat the eagles last year. It's called corn dog.
Take a look at the 2 and 6 play with 2:46 to play. Pacheco lands on his butt at the 31 the ball is across the 31. The side judge marks the ball with his foot at the 31. He then walks the ball in and places it at the 31.5 This is not the only time this happens in the game.
excellent break down!
It's not just luck. Time after time, in the toughest moments, in the biggest games, against the baddest teams, Patrick Mahomes simply does what it takes to win. He's a stone-cold assassin, and a born winner! I knew when San Francisco kicked the field goal in overtime that they had lost. I KNEW Patrick Mahomes was going to do whatever he had to, to drive down the field and rip their hearts out with the winning touchdown. You doubt Patrick Mahomes at your peril. And watch out, because the Chiefs are still a young team that's well positioned under the salary cap. Mahomes has won the Super Bowl the last two years with essentially spare parts from the wide receiver position. His four TDs in the last two Super Bowls were caught by the likes of Kadarius Toney, Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Mecole Hardman for Christ's sake! I strongly believe the Chiefs WILL pick up a No. 1 receiver either in the draft or free agency and could be even better next year! Do I hear a three peat?
It wasn't the corndog - it was the corndog with ketchup and mustard.
And, a ring. :P
Malaysia support Chief
@CHEA1111 Love you Malaysia. Kuala Lu😘mpur !
Great analysis
Great video!@
excellent thanks
I’m no chiefs fan girl but Mahomes is a dawg. He stays so calm and the fact that he can execute under pressure like that with SECONDS to go. They started off that drive with what 7 minutes, and for him to use alllllll of it with only 3 seconds to go at the end of that drive. Pure mastery
Idk if there was ever more evidence to what winning looks like, than the final 2 drives of the SB by KC.
- No big arm throws
- No pinpoint accuracy
- No crazy off script plays
- No amazing throws
- No incredible off platform throws
- No video game QB designed runs
Yet this is the stuff, that analysts endlessly search for, when trying to find the next “Mahomes” or next superstar QB.
Literally rewatch the last 2 drives.
Not a single pass traveled more than 10 yards.
Many didn’t travel 5 yards.
All that was, was Andy Reid planting thoughts into the opponents heads, to where they thought they knew what was coming next, and then simply exploited it.
Andy Reid and Mahomes are playing chess while everyone else is lifting weights.
Bosa got schooled on that final play as well. After amazing work most of the game keeping Mahomes in the pocket he made three major mistakes at the end that resulted in two first downs and the winning TD. Not sure if he was tired, undisciplined or confused but it certainly hurt SF after an amazing defensive performance the rest of the game.
Am I the only one who sees kelce start celebrating td when he hasn't even looked over to see that mecole made the catch
He’s looking at the Jumbotron
When the niners did that all out blitz on 3rd & 6, I was praying the lb’s would pull out. I was praying it was jus a disguise😭 but no Steve Wilks never learns
watched an o line committee vid and they mentioned at that point it's more of a "wtf can we do to stop these guys rn" call more than trying to get too cute with disguised sets n whatnot
When Mahome-e passed the first down marker on 4th & 1 Bosa just stuck it in neutral, terminated his persuit. 🤣
Kelce did not even look at what happened before celebrating! lol!
He saw it on the screen in front of him, genius.
Maybe he could see on the big screen.
This final pass to Kelce is straight from Luka's playbook: a no-look, with Mahomes eyeing Valdes-Scantling until the millisecond the defender breaks off Kelce. Then, throwing it right to him wide open leaving the defender catching the vapors! Precise and brilliant.

A fantastic Hollywood movie ending!!
Patrick mahomes scrambled one more time before they got that touchdown and it was something I think everybody needed to see and everybody would have got an idea of how and why they won this game
good breck down of the final drive
Order the corn dog with everything on it❤❤❤❤❤❤
Corndog is the play where 49ers missed Greenlaw the most. His replacement was completely lost on that play :(
Niners should have went for fourth instead of the field goal. Giving the ball to Mahomes in overtime is never a good idea
It's called matriculating the ball down the field
I’m old enough to know that reference to Hank Stramm
For most of the game, it seemed like the Niners had a edge over the Chiefs... but yes, this last drive the Chiefs really stepped it up and play smart football. The Niners had ONE JOB... prevent a touchdown so that they could get the ball back. Of course, they ended up failing in that one job. I look forward to next year's Superbowl (I wouldn't be surprised if we see the same two teams in it).
Lol, 87 already watching the tub on the jumbotron lol at the last play lol
I can't believe it. In high school i was. Taught strong right or strong left. Here is clearly says strong right, meaning the play will run through that side
A blitz-secondary conundrum for the 49ers
Legacy defining drive by Mahomes

For the 2nd SB in row, Andy Reid wins with "Corndog"
Great analysis 👍. But the only way to win the Super Bowl was to get a touchdown.it's also about time management.
