Another month nailed. What an extra ordinary month you have created. Personally at present we are having our summer and today was no exception @ 102F. Your snow scenes are beautiful to say the least. Congrats again Ken and thanks for all the hints you offer us modellers.

Another great edition of "What's Neat This Week". I fully enjoyed all you segments but I think I got the most personal inspiration from the snow scene. I need to look at these tips several more times for a diorama that I want to build for my military hobby. I need to revisit your use of fake fur for grass. Ken, I hope that you and your family and other production partners have a very Merry Christmas.

Always watch your stuff Ken, great work... if you get the chance to read Neil Enock's books, you won't be disappointed; Doc Christmas is also an excellent starter for new model railroaders!

Hi Ken, great show! I really enjoyed the segment on using the foam pro on top of different materials that most people have around the house and the segment on using pencil shavings and metal shavings for loads on our hoppers and gondolas. Thanks for sharing these ideas with us. Also your run through videos of model trains look very realistic along with your still photography.

I would like to know more about the two cameras shown at 34:36 in this video. I know what a GoPro is obviously but what about the lens attachment and the lens itself, and what is the other device? thank you.

Did you need to get permission to copy the photograph? If she had a copytright it you must have had to get a release. Look forward to your monthly programs. Did you get the idea about the cutting of the holes for the switch machines that I sent?

ken do you know if they have come up with a dual gauge dcc solution yet and has anyone thought up camera solution for the loco's yet where there is a small cam mounted within a loco shell..

The only problem I see with your foam experiment is the last two segments, microfiber cloth and paper towel, were covered with more foam than the rest and to a thicker initial level with a different pattern. For a true comparison the technique and conditions of experiment must be the same across the board. I am not surprised at the initial result of the paper towel and microfiber as the coating on them was thicker and therefore expanded to a thicker result.

at 19: 30 the locomotives sounded more like the real thing. why?.....they turned the volume down on the decoders! most vids they have them turned waayy to loud and it just sounds like electronic noise idling up and down, with a not so random air let off. and sound NOTHING like a real train in run 5 going by. I have found a few that have realized this, and Im glad they have a $200+ locomotive, but turn it down please! it will sound so much better than hearing the plastic vibrate from the vibration of the volume of the decoder! not to rant but guys if you do this, you will be amazed at what your locomotive will sound like with the vol turned down about half way. I have a cf7 with sound and I found this out right away, up full blast it just sounded like electronic racket idling up and down,...turned it down about a lil more than half and it was loud enough it sounded GREAT! you could hear the 567 rumble and whine idling up and down. so yeah, take my advise, if you make a vid, turn the loco down !! like I said not to be "that guy" lol, but just trying to make everybodys vids sound better. jus trin to share what little I know with yall! - Arkie
