I love my Nucleus...combined with Roon, its an awesome package.
Wait wait wait..... Toronto Audiofest IS happening .. !!! I got my registration confirmed recently. Unless there have been other changes made in the last 2 days?!... I REALLY hope the store can be there in some regard... I know that A LOT of people would want to hear those Sonus Faber SE - .. Show stoppers!
so if i understand it well the Nucleus funtion as the roon core ?
I have the old version of the Nucleus Plus. I have a 4TB NAS connected to it, which is almost full. I also subscribe to Tidal and Qobuz. Roon integrates all of this seamlessly. I particularly like to see all the different versions of a particular album including the resolution of each one, so that I can choose which one I want to listen to. At the end of the album, Roon chooses similar music for you and continues playing. I have discovered lots.of new music this way. I LOVE Roon. At this point, I could not live without it. It is, without doubt, the best way to handle all of your digital music files.
What it you don't have a catV hook up in your music room?
Hi , can you tell me what DAC would be a great upgrade from Hegel H390's built in DAC? Thank you.
It should use a linear power supply
Great video guys - top notch production quality as always. You should do something on acoustic panels, looks like you have some nice ones in that room
Is that Ansuz Acoustics Power Switch on the floor next to the rack? Please do a review on your channel. I 'm so looking forward to hear Vilip's take on it.🤣
Yes it looks similar to a Raspberry Pi. It is also about the same size as an Intel NUC. I personally have replaced my InnuOS Zenith Mk3 and PhoenixUSB with an Intel NUC10 i7 32GB RAM and 250 GB M.2 SSD in an Akasa Turing fanless case etherneted to my audiophile switch with an AQ Diamond Ethernet cable. Streamer is separated. Either a Sonore UltraRendu or Lumin U1 Mini. The SQ in my experience is better than my old Innuos setup and Roon remote runs snappier, more stable and no frequent crashes as before. It also does DSP well with no crashes.
It is an intel nuc. Look between the HD and the motherboard and you see the USB ports that a nuc has.
@@ghp_aTxcGoQueOBM0Jlyx1oMMgcPe Then the problem with the Nucleus is that it doesn’t have an optimal amount of RAM and I don’t know what size SSD it has for the core. Does the Nucleus or Nucleus + run ROCK or Roon Server on Linux?
@@RJ_Chicago no, it runs ROON core
Wow i obviously upset someone as they deleted my comment about it being a nuc. So much for them being open to discussion.
@@ghp_aTxcGoQueOBM0Jlyx1oMMgcPe no. Your comment is still up there.
Given the price of the Roon Nucleus Plus, I am shocked that it does not come with a solid state drive (SSD), but instead uses a hard disk drive (HDD). For that reason, I would never buy one, even if the Nucleus were more reasonably priced.
So what does it do that my Intel i7 powered Windows computer won't do ? Seems to me, after watching this .. absolutely sweet F.A. ! So .. as to answering the title question 'Why you need one' .. strikes me as having failed spectacularly. The only real advantage seems to be, in having a dedicated unit, solely for running Roon. And that's supposed to be worth £2800 (for the Nucleus Plus in the UK) .. and that doesn't even include a drive !
Just get a Small Green Computer.
You don't need one if you only stream music..
BTW to much money for a metal box from which I have to wipe the dust every 7 days
Самые реальный способ сэкономить 2000€, это приобрести NUC11 от intel и установить на него ROON ROCK.
😂😂🤣😏yea better the produzent Speaks about his Produkt..
You don't need one if you don't stream audio, which I do not.
inside is just a Rasberry Pi
With an I7 and an SSD lmao. Way overpriced for the hardware you're getting.
It was a 9th Gen Intel NUC. You are basically paying 5 times the price of a retailed intel product.
But it comes in a pretty
metal box and software...
@@MCMTL Not sure if sarcasm or not. But if not, the software is like $13/month, and you could find a MUCH cheaper case to put it in. Definitely not worth the several hundred percent markup at all.
@@DTMHMK It was definitely sarcasm. At the same time though, some people are willing to pay for this sort of thing to save time and have a working system right out of the box.
