At the 8 Minute mark, where you're showing the backs of the old and new, tell me that's not Darth Vader on the right. Talk about Iconic! 😀 Love your show, it's my favorite.
Dudes nipples r so hard for this 😂
Nice to see =)
The music and effects were on point for this one =) haha..
Thank you for sharing Adrian!
Adrian is having fun doing the unboxing. I think it’s cool. Those that really hated it are the people that couldn’t afford the gear.
The one thing that bothers me about Buchardt is their absolute need for direct marketing. Given the fact there are no dealers involved and this is a new player in the market, Buchardt had to find inventive ways to market their products. It seems the main game is to send youtube reviewers their products to test. But how do we trust these reviews when the reviewers want to stay on the right side of the companies that send them the gear? it seems no different to car reviewers or any other type of reviews that rely on this symbiotic relationship. i think it’d be a different story if people were able to go to their local dealer and test them for themselves. I know Buchardt have great customer service and you can send them back (for a fee), but there’s still a huge hassle factor involved. Interestingly the only reviewers i’ve seen that didn’t have a glowing review (you guys), didn’t have them sent to them by Buchardt. Interesting. I’m not saying going direct means the product is bad-that would be silly, but I am saying the method may distort the reviews, both ‘pro’ and home, more than brands that can be tested and bought at your local store. The one consistent issue raised with these speakers seems to be the off-axis response and this seems to have been backed up by Erin’s data (there’s a hole). Seems you really need to align your ears with the bridge between the woofer and the tweeter guide to get the best out of it. Maybe that tweeter shouldn’t be at the bottom? Possible this may have been done just to catch attention rather than it be the best thing sonically… pressures of the direct model? I may still order some of these and test them for myself and send them back for the fee if not happy.
Thank you.
The bad you say is the resale value well you can flip the coin and say that’s actually good for somebody that’s looking for good deals on very good sounding products that doesn’t have the $10,000 for a direct stream dac but and only has $2000. It’s only bad with somebody in your position that sells full retail to the dummies that wanna pay for retail.
I notice ScanSpeak drivers in there.
I am happy with my Sasha Daw's that i am playing on right now, but these new Puppy's will be on my list for checking out for my third listening room.
Thanks for the video. What’s the retail price?

Bit of gyno going off there. Get your bloods done.

Can't wait for the new WATT Puppy vs. Sasha V comparison video 😊
Sabrina X comparison would be nice too!
Hello I'm considering these speakers for my Daniel Hertz Maria, do you think they would be a good match?
how much?
An Audio Excellence video without an unboxing is like a day without sunshine 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Every Wilson Audio speaker reminds me of Star Wars. The top bin (Watt) in this one looks like Darth Vader's helmet, especially from behind, and all the speakers above the Sasha (my favorite speaker) look like Vader-General Grievous crossbreeds.
Wait a second, there’s no watches worn in this video? No MB&F, C and R??? Blasphemy! 😂 but yeah, if I were to bang my watch against the speakers, I’d feel bad for my watch too. And did not know about the connection between Wilson and Focal, so thanks for that tidbit, Adrian.
Watt/Puppy 6's were my second pair of high end speakers (first was Von Schweikert VR-4.5), bought them right when they were released in 1999. I actually kept them for 24 years, finally gave them up late last year for a pair of Alexia 2's. The old W/P are substantially smaller than the Sasha's. Really closer in size to the Yvette. You really needed that handle on the old W/P, because the Watt was designed to be a standalone monitor the crossover for the mid/tweeter had to be in the Watt, which added a lot of weight.
Yes please!
I love my PS Audio equipment. I also appreciate this video. When I'm researching gear I look for the criticisms first and foremost. I guess I figure if the criticism doesn't scare me away I'll start looking for the good reviews. This review is absolutely fair and doesn't scare me away from PS Audio one bit. Love your videos!
Bias ... Whats wrong with the B&W 805D4 ??? not in your list He only review those he is dealing !!!!
MA8950 & the MA9500 are essentially sibling amplifiers..except with the MA9500 you get 300 wpc & an 8-band tone control built-in module and their DA2 series DAC module. I'd say the 9500 looks like the better overall value if you can really make use if the additional power & a more robust equalizer/ tone control module.
A special thanks to Philip for describing this McIntosh Amplifier extremely well. He gave me a good snapshot of what this amp is about is about..what it offers.
Nice vid guys. I appreciate your efforts in producing this video. Did you guys do a video on the McIntosh MA9500 Integrated Amplifier yet? If not, do you have any specific thoughts..opinions on this newish McBeast of an amp? Thanks! D-
Thanks for posting this informative & timely video.
Now that we all know more about this Mc Integrated amp, are separates really a better bet? Has anyone read other reliable follow up audio reviews on this McIntosh Integrated Amplifier? I have a nice opportunity to aquire a used Mc integrated from a McIntosh Dealer. I own a used MC152 Power Amplifier & a MC49 Preamplifier...a fine pairing IMO. My little Qln speakers are 85.5 dB & relatively inefficient. Would I 'up the level of performance' of my Qln Prestige Speakers by doubling the power of the McIntosh Amplifier? IDK. I appreciate whatever informed opinions you can offer me. Thanks! D-
I will say in my opinion that I agree with most of what you said with the exception of the Bose. I have never owned a pair of Bose 901 however I have heard them properly set up, and I think that's the key. I'm not insinuating what you heard or had or what have you was not properly done but in my recollection of hearing them properly set up and you've got to properly tweak them with the EQ, they have a particular sound. They have this big wall of sound type sound and it's definitely not to everybody's taste and I can understand that, but I think that for certain types of music particularly where mid-range timbre is important, they excelled and that coupled with that big wall of sound was actually quite pleasurable. Anyway keep up the videos and always love your opinion and your style, and forget the haters that might nitpick you with certain things, be honest they're probably just jealous.
Thanks for the review if this Mc Amplifier Adrian & Philip. I learned a lot here.
Another great review and entertaining talk. What comes up in my mind is playtime for both ? Sometimes only few days of extra houŕs can suddenly open up the amp significantly.. no judging, just a thought. I vote many more happy customers for Adrian!
I love My C399 +Mdc2 .... and end of speech...🤣😉✌️
How do you compare these to the C12000... I'm thinking that I don't have to make a choice... educate me if I'm FOS... thank you...
Thanks to the three of you for your incites. As I was viewing the start of the video it occurred to me that your individual conclusions would somewhat reflect the current state of your hearing (or loss). Not that there is anything wrong with that - changes in hearing are the reality of life for all of us. Anti-oxidants may somewhat slow down that trajectory. These both sound like excellent pre amps with either choice being a good choice. Thanks again for a great educational and entertaining video!
Thank you!
It’s digital data how come there is a difference 😱
Grrrrrreat video and comparison. I was in the market for either a C53 or C2700, u til the C55 & C2800 came out. Question: Can I use either the 55 or 2800 in place of getting a MEM220, which I was going to use as a frequency splitter; bass to my MC601’s and highs to a future MC275 (or a pair of tube mono blocks)? If I get c2800, would I still need to bi-amp with the C275 , to my B&W 802 D3’s? If I get the C2800, and then add the MQ112 equalizer, will the MQ112 destroy that tube goodness (note: I really like/need the EQ, to warm a li’l bit my Diamond speakers, not to mention fixing some recordings? What if purchased the C55, the MQ112, and then tried to get a tube buffer amp (between my C?? And my MC601’s - I.e. the best of both worlds?
Lots of questions, best to speak with your local dealer.
Very good and honest review. Next time would you pls compare accuphase c2300 to mcintosh c55 preamp
Great intro to this amazing looking product and excellent insights.. I am curious about your clients painful sounding system is. uhhumm Burmester or any of the Swiss made product..CH1. So hyper detailed My ears were bleeding lol. I must drop into your store when I am ever in the Greater Toronto area
Bellissima spiegazione. Posseggo Accuphase e 280 e stavo pensando di abbinare il lettore cd Accuphase dp 450 Cosa ne pensi?? L’hai mai ascoltato?? Grazie mille.
Thanks for this great comparison....but makes it not easier to choose one...Best would be an E-5000 with more clear sound. Always the same with Accuphase😒
Hi Adrian, thanks for a very good review. You've compared the e4000 with a McIntosh frequently during the review, but what about a comparison with a Luxman? What do you think of such a competition? Thanks
How is this a review? You're a dealer for this product. This is nothing more than a sales pitch.
Lewis, becoming the Jazz master and nothing wrong with dating yourself by Listening to Tom Jones or Engelbert Humperdink. When the music is good, it's good. Also, Adrian liked one over the other but with tone controls it seems one should be able to highlight the sound more to your taste. I shouldn't comment on equipment that I have never listened to.
Hi Adrian and all. Greetings from Singapore! Adrian, thank you for this video and the frank observation. I did an upgrade from E380 to E800 and noticed the same thing. The E380 mids and highs a tad bit crisp. But with higher power and current, as you mentioned, everything is bigger, wider and most important more weight and sounded more real. And with orchestra tracks, higher power of E800 (maybe class A) are more effortless in dynamic and dont have the amp straining feeling. I think my E380 with lower power is a bit "thin" so it sounded a tad bit crisp in comparing with E800? 😊
Thank you for the great teamwork review. It would have been advisible to address the phono sections as well as the high level sections. I have a C2700/MC462 combination which has been a great sounding cost-effective (relatively) setup. I noticed that you all did not use any classical music selections as part of your comparisons. I bring this up because back when I had the opportunities to compare the C50/C2500 and C53/C2700 pairs the relative sound reproduction of massed strings (the upper midrange) in quality symphonic recordings would quickly show the tube preamps to be the more musically desirable, IMHO. Frank and Ella sounded a bit more like themselves, too. In any case, I'll have to give the new units a listen.
I did use classical, just did not mention the music as the video would be too long
Had i seen this before I would gave bought them instantly!
How close/ how do these compare to the C12000?
Did you’ll ever review the MC462? If so I can’t find the video.
1:55 I'm sure that is how the package it at the factory. Lay it over on it's side and drag it around a glass table.
