@@cemi_8945 there are different versions of the 1080p display the 144hz one doesn't have good colour accuracy but the one which supports 300hz has good colour accuracy

Thank you for the review! I know these aren't supposed to be super detailed, but I'd like to see more necessary stuff like thermals and CPU wattage. Intel 12-th gen is super dependent on power limits. If Ryzen wouldn't perform that much different on either 45 or 80 watts, for latest Intel CPU-s it's a night and day difference in performance.

@@NotebookcheckReviews I think gaming thermals is what people care about the most. Very few laptops aren't furnaces in combined stress tests lol, neither such stress-tests are realistic for almost anyone. Maybe you can select some resourse-heavy game like cyberpunk and measure thermals there.
Well, you would be surprised how many people ask for stress tests, even though there aren't a ton of "every-day" use-case scenarios where both GPU AND CPU are pushed to 100%. But yeah, I was thinking about Cyberpunk too.
Do you know about the details of performance uplift from going 11800h 3060 to 12700h 3060 in gaming.

Great review. I just think that the SSD slots included support up to PCIE 4.0 instead of 3.0. The standard ssd provided as part of the purchase is 3.0 though.

i had a doubt- how much slower if at all is the 6650m compared to a 100w 3070
In our performance rating the 6650m in the Omen 16 is about 4% faster. But it will depend on a game by game basis.

How were the overall 105w 3070 performances in the games if u tested this version in depth that is
Upon some research and reading/watching vids i was led to believe that a 105w and a 130w 3070 generally perform the same with a ~5 fps difference here and there but then some reviews also state that the 105w is srsly underpowered and going for a 130w 3060 might be a better option

I do have an booklet from Asus it stated that the model FX517ZR has Intel i7 12650H 12th Gen, GPU of NVIDIA RTX 3070 8GB DDR6. And you've mentioned that it's a M.2 PCIe NVMe 4.0
Yet on the booklet the model
FX517ZR has
12th Gen i5 12450H
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8GB DDR5
16GB DDR5 4800
512GB M.2 PCIe 3.0 SSD.
The model that has the
12th Gen i7 12650H is the FX517ZM but it only has the RTX 3060 6GB DDR5 and still has a M.2 NVMe PCIe 3.0.
It apparantly runs an PCIe 3.0 SSD in a PCIe 4.0 capable slot. And yes, ours was the one with the 3070, the i7 and the QHD display.
Great review. I have a 4K 120hz TV with hdmi 2.1. If I connect this laptop to the tv, Will I be able to get 4K 120hz once this laptop does not have HDMI 2.1?
If the laptop isn’t HDMI 2.1 you will be limited to 4K @60hz unfortunately

I have the 3070 i7 12650h on order from Best Buy atm and was wondering for the m.2 slot, is it possible to use a heatsink with the m.2 or is there any clearance for one?

Yes you can use a laptop heat sink! Go with a 2mm or 1mm heat sink. These will work with this laptop. Good luck!

@@bggaming379 You can pretty much play anything on it, i never had to go below high settings in anything and i played Elden ring, RDR2, Uncharted 4, etc.

About your question, we didn't test the RUF with the 3060, but I just compared it with the Legion 5, which rocks a 140W RTX 3060 and it is actually faster than the 3070 in the TUF.

Just be careful to get a SKU with the QHD display, the FHD is supposed to be not very good!

I think we had this question before. In our review we stated that it’s just 3.0 but I think somebody tested it and confirmed it’s 4.0 … might be worth it to read through the comments.
How're the thermals and battery? 76wh, compared to 90wh on F15 and A15?

great review but is it possible to it while differentiating against the tuf gaming f15. basically which one is better. tuf dash f15 or the tuf gaming f15
the Gaming has a 3050 Ti right?! Well then the Dash for sure, since it rocks a 3070.
From what i know, the TUF gaming always has a faster and better CPU than the ones in the Dash. But one good thing about the Dash is that it has Type-C Charging.
I tried to change the keyboard backlight color but failed. I have that exact model
As far as I know the TUF come with only white keyboard backlight.
Been looking at this vs the Asus Tuf A15 RTX 3050TI (2022) model this one looked abit better but im concerned with the temps on the in depth review along side other reviews stated gets well over 90c even with simple tasks, should i be worried purchasing this knowing that?
It is common for notebook components to get this hot. It is still well within spec from the manufacturers!

Our unit was fine, but unfortunately every single panel is different. If it is too bad, I would return it and order a new one.
hey this is unrelated, but when i open and close my laptop lid it makes a small clicking sound. Does this mean there is a loose hinge?
This is very hard to diagnose remotely. You should check with the retailer/manufacturer

Hi bro, i have the same laptop and I am facing an issue. My laptop is not charging after connecting to the charger. It only start charging after few minutes (5 to 10 minutes ). Is this an issue or it is normal?

If you can live with the plastic body (that still feels very nice) and the 16:9 display that is really good, if a little dim, than the Tuf will give you much better value and performance!

I was confused because rtx 3060 tdp is upto 120W in Zephyrus. And TUF goes upto 105w but it's RTX 3070. which one will out perform?
The 3070 will still give you better performance. Its got higher core counts and more VRAM and can therefore outperform even higher-wattage 3060s

The real question is... should you take the stickers off?
Man, I wish I could. Whenever I have to shoot B-Roll, I get annoyed by the stickers in the shot. For some manufacturers, it is a competition of how many stickers they can throw on a machine.

The TUF is more "portable" since it is lighter and slimmer.
The Legion will give you more performance, and the ports are more conveniently positioned.
The screen in the legion is brighter, but the color gamut coverage for the TUF is better.
So it is challenging to recommend one or the other. You may have the chance to try both somewhere before making a decision?

It’s very solid an in line what to expect from a 3070 (ti) with some tuning you can even get it to run closer to 60fps with ray tracing, with the help of DLSS of course.

I connect this laptop to my hp omen 27i QHD 165hz monitor using usb type c to dispaly port cable but I can only get 120 hz. Am I missing something to get 165hz?
Sounds like some form of bandwidth limitation. It's very hard to diagnose that problem remotely. You could try a different adapter or display port cable.

@@NotebookcheckReviews The maximum refresh rate i can choose is 120hz. I even tried to change it to 165hz by customizing resolution on nvidia control panel but the screen of the monitor just goes black and say check source. If I use hdmi to hdmi, I can get 144hz max but no Gsync. Using usb type c to display port should give me that 165hz but Idk why it's not working.. Gsync is on but the refresh rate is capped at 120hz.
Maybe that is the maximum the adapter can handle? Interesting problem tho. Unfortunately the highest refresh rate display I got here is 4k @120Hz so I can not test with my machines and adapters ...

12700h vs 11800h gaming benchmark? No one has done that.
Wanted to see the improvement over generation in gaming. hp omen has made 12700h 3060 and 11800h on same chassis.

Yes, unfortunately. Currently Bestbuy has a deal on that FHD version for like $999. Still, I'm kinda hesitant to get that due to its poor quality FHD panal. Otherwise, it's a perfect match for me..
That is a super cool laptop, but it is not ergonomic. Ergotauri is making new one-of-a-kind ergonomic gaming laptops! Your left hand would be much more comfortable and would not fatigue as much when you play first-person shooters and real-time strategy games using keyboard and mouse controls.

If it wasn't for those fugly WASD keys I would really like these, but those single handedly remove it from my potential laptop list... The Lenovo Legion 5 Pro and 7 has worse battery life but at least they don't look like they were designed by a 12 year old for a 8 year old...
The legion looks much more gamery overall? Don’t you think? I agree, the prominent WASD keys are not for everyone, but the chassis looks quite clean overall!
@@NotebookcheckReviews I would much prefer less flashy laptops, apart from the Y/Legion writings Lenovo for me looks much more reserved, has better ports and are said to have great keyboards. The only problem with them I have is the battery life... maybe Zen 4 will have better... an 8/12 core Dragon Range with an RTX4060/4070 would be nice... I need one for writing and occasional gaming/stable diffusion(preferably over 8gb vram), but I also want a good screen too ...basically to replace my aging desktop for 2 years till the RTX 5 series comes out... I'm not going to upgrade both at these prices...
Im just testing a Legion 5 Pro with Ryzen 7/RTX 3060. GPU performance is very solid, testing battery life tomorrow!

I have this laptop and have owned the 2021 one, i can right a whole essay on how bad this laptop is and why the lenovo legion 5 pro, and 5, and ideapad 3 gaming are MUCH better than this crap. Here is some of my essay: MOST TRASH LAPTOP EVER, i have owned the 2021 and the 2022 version, both are trash. Currently on the 165hz 1440p rtx 3050 with i7 12650h one. Gonna be returning it for a legion 7. Why tf sell a 165hz 1440p versions and give a rtx 3050, (I got it on a deal for 1000) Also there are barely any function keys like msi laptops and legion laptops (No max fan boost. no rgb, camera switch, any many other keyboard function that your press and something cool will happen) The fan makes so much whining noise, the gpu is low wattage, ONLY 2 USB A PORTS?? the ddr5 ram is okay. Also i expect some better material for a laptop like this. only metal on the lid, wrest is plastic and i expect better material because it has "tuf in its name" Also the battery life is good, the desigm looks good and those are mostly the only 2 good things about this laptop.Lately, i have been experiencing screen glitching issues (probably the drivers or the overclock). The temperatures are way to high too, most of my gaming laptops stay under 75 c.
How can you say something is trash while still being 50/50 about what is good and what is not? We found the chassis to be reasonably good quality despite it being mostly plastic (which is common within this price range.)
Temps have been "ok" with our unit as well. I would like to know which laptop CPUs stays below 75C under full load.

I didn’t disagree with the fact that a 3050 is a tad bit slow for QHD gaming, but I don’t think you can trash a Config that you bought.

I just bought this laptop, it's weight and performance is perfect for travelers!! The power of RTX 3070 8gb GPU with i7 12650H and 144hz screen adaptive sync as well 16gbs of blazingly fast DDR5 4800mhz RAM is a winner 🏆 🥇 in my book. Shove a gen 4 2TB SSD in the 2nd slot and add 32GB RAM kit as an upgrade, you will be good for the next 3-5 years for gaming and AI applications or coding. ❤ beast of a laptop that is actually working undercover 🥸

@fohedd I didn't experience any big issues. Just put it on top of an air cooler pad in a cold office room and you are good to go. It would he to repaste the CPU and GPU with quality thermal transfer material. Honeywell TM7956 or similar phase shifting thermal transfer material is an excellent product to use.
