Restoring my Grandma's old 1994 Ford Ranger 4.0 4X4 that I learnt to drive on. Frame was too rusted to save, so I bought a complete identiacal parts truck!

Sarah: "That rust is so bad"
Me who lives in NY: "That thing is in great shape!"
Me in NJ, same lol
From Iowa, sitting here like that thing still has the factory leaf spring hangers/shackles on it... It's basically cherry lol
Me from Illinois was thinking the same thing as mat s lol and The U bolts don't look like sharpened pencils
Michigander here- little rattle can after wire brush and it will get years still. weld in a couple of braces if needed.
That’s mint! Coming from the Great White North!
Love your commentaries - a combination of humor, irreverence, history, knowledge, and then couple that with your serious expertise. Makes for fun watching.
And hot, too :-)
"Ooooooo, that vibrates my ass..."
Comments like this and bolster testing are the reason I subbed three years ago. Thank you for the cheap thrills, Sarah.
Don't forget chippy seed...

This was a very sweet and endearing video. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us. May your Grandma continue to look on you fondly.
I love the fact that you’re grandma is making you get out of your garage and live. :)
I don't know why, but the road trip videos w/Charlie are some of my favorite videos from you. Love seeing the different sights.
I came for Sarah and stayed for the great nature shots.
I know you won't see this, but a few weeks ago (august 2021) had to replace the gas filler hose on my '92, which requires at least lifting the front of the bed. DO replace the filler hose; they disinegrate. The fun story is that I didn't have a T50, so I trundled down to the local neighborhood cheap tools you know where and grabbed a set. Got 3 of 'em, but the other 3 rounded. Took it up to my favorite shop, wondering how I wasn't going to have to drill them out; Steve pulled out his Snap-On bit, and out they came. LESSON: sometimes cheap tools don't do it.
How do you know I won’t see this? 😋
I'm glad Sarah found replacement parts for her grandma's truck.
You have great content Sarah
Hey thanks for showing us a slice of Real America kind regards to you and your show
16:04 The you in CZcams will get you there. You know your shit and deliver. I see your subscribers going exponential.
I’m not a CZcamsr that wants to be famous though, I think it’s hard to grow past a certain point because of that fact. I just enjoy making videos for people.
And that is one aspect of your charm that comes through. You already set the wheels in motion (so to speak... sorry). I think it will happen naturally. I'm just one of many I bet not hugely into cars, but clicked on a randomly suggested video, and stayed for your sense of humor and impressed by your ability to rip anything apart and rebuild it. They are enjoyable to watch. All the best...in Tucson, Northern AZ, or anywhere you desire.

Your Grandma would be proud of you for be industrious and saving her old Ranger......
Yes! Building an old Datsun pick up would be a really cool restomod truck.
Grandma would be so proud of you! This is what I have been waiting for! Let Er Rip! 👍
That frame! Here in PA we call that mint condition, I just bought a frame to replace mine and it’s about that condition and I was excited about it lol😂😂
@4:36 "Why am I so fucking weird?" - That's what we're here for!
Love the combination of knowledge and weirdness :)
Sarah, I really enjoyed this one! Thanks!
Sarah and Charlie make a great team.
Truer words. 👍
Welcome to the world of vehicle restoration
There... Sara! To keep up with you is a whole lot of watching.
That bed is in fantastic shape for the age of the truck.
Pulling that bedliner, what a PITA ! But boy, it looks awesome. Chipmunk turds are flying everywhere !" Best line on CZcams. Ever. And you are not weird in a bad way. You are weird in a great way. You are awesome.
I just realized I'm binging your build videos by age of vehicle. I started work the 69 beetle, watched all of the 91 Mr Dos and now I'm on the 94 Ranger 😂
Tip for the frame if you haven't worked on it yet. Sandblast like you mentioned. After that you can apply a product called All Metal for the pitting to get it smooth. It's like bondo only tougher with metal filings mixed in it. Downside is it may not take to powder coating. I am unsure of that. If not just epoxy primer with chassis paint.
Edit: oops, my internet is slow right now and I made this comment while I paused to let it load. Left comment to give you and viewers a bit of knowledge.
Beautiful road trip!
Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Charlie for supporting the wonderful Sarah.
I have not clicked so fast, I hope u still have ur grandma's ranger
Drop in bedliner removal: stand at rear of truck and bow up the floor section. It releases the sidewalls from under the top lip.
Remember when installing or removing a bed Liner you start by pulling up the middle which will make side slide down 🙂 keep up the awesome videos 👍
I was gonna say, shoving a 6' long chunk of 4x4 or 6x6 under there will pop the bedliner right out of there.
A 5 gallon plastic bucket also helps if you're having to do it solo.
Great travelogue you should do some more videos of touring out west!!!
Your choice in music is impeccable.
Its so cute watching women work on vehicles lol. I've learn soooo many new words since I've watched your videos Sarah....like hand cheese lol
So glad to see this finally happening. The Ranger is so lucky to have both you and your grandma for owners.
I know right, this is probably the only rust free New England Ranger of this year!
Congrats on finding the parts truck, but damn, 8 hour drive one way? That is a commitment. Love your motor and enthusiasm!
I know from my parts hunting in Canada, sometimes you'll find a deal on exactly what you need, but need to travel to the ass of nowhere to get it. Even the fuel cost and time spent still makes the long distance parts trip worth it.
What scenery quite amazing to see - thanks for your catch-up posting !! 👍🙂
That old F-150 is a beast.
You are fantastic at hosting videos. Your wonderful personality shines through. Keep up the great work. And greetings from Toronto!
My family has owned a Ford Ranger with roll down windows and a stick shift for 20 years and a whole lot of miles. Durable vehicle but I never thought of it as Grandma's ride.
My grandma was a badass.
Your dorkiness is endearing!
Watchimg this from the beginning and wanted to state this truck was mint. Im so glad you're doing this. My 94 is in bad shape and i will be using your videos to see what you did and what i could have one day.
This was one of your best videos!
Music was on point! It matched the feeling of the scenery.
what is the artist/track?
Thank you Sarah.
Sooo relieved when you put on gloves. Always do that favour to your talented pretty hands.
Your excitement is infectious. The scenery and music on the road trip was awesome. I’m saving this video for repeats just for that. Unicorns do exist! Cheers. 👍
Did a trip from Austin, TX to Los Angeles, CA three years ago in a Type R and I have to say, the best landscapes were from Arizona and New Mexico. Absolutely breathtaking sceneries!
I've seen your channel long ago but never subscribed , I saw a lot of your videos are well made
Is that a donkey selfie in your thumbnail? Cute
Love the videos, absolutely love the ranger videos. The connection you have with your Grandmothers truck hits home. Keep them coming
That scenery ❤️
What an amazing roadtrip!!! Those landscapes are awesome!
You tearing that bed liner out was the most hilarious minute-and-a-half I have seen in a long time go girl you got this
fantastic country is most enjoyable! Looks like Australia! Your Grandma would be proud of you!
The scenery on the trip was amazing!!
Excited to see this resto. The ranger shell looks so mint and it’s so cool that it was your grandmothers.
6:06 what is that? that's going to be my birthday present from me to me ! ! 9:30 cool rock music going with cool rock scenery. Now if junior high school earth history was taught like that, I would have paid attention.
That was a 68 Mustang. The "ribs", the fake air intakes in front of the rear wheels confirm it. In 67 they were much "longer" front to rear. But Ford also used a lot of 67 parts on the early 68's, including hoods and front lower valances.
Love Grandma’s Ranger!😊👍🎉🎉
....so did Grampa 😜
This video just convinced me that my plan to roadtrip through arizona this winter was the right call. What beautiful landscapes
National Geographic could not have done a better video , especially of Arizona. You made me laugh out loud when you said you looked like a vampire. Great video and enjoyable
Love your weird , don't ever change
Because of you, one of my favorite go to tools is that hammer screw thingy, LOVE that thing! Thanks for mentioning it just before I went on an Amazon binge!
ranger stuff makes be very excited!!!!!
Why have I not been watching her more ..😆 🤣
Love when you got the bed off... it actually looks better than my 2010 NH F150 and I under-body wash constantly in Winter lol
This is amazingly excellent content. What a great channel. Highly entertaining and loving the road trips as a non US subscriber. Love seeing your wonderful country like this.
I sure enjoyed the trip. Never realized there was so much beautiful country in Arizona.
I love the South West part of the country. Nice find on the 93 Ranger donor truck.
First time viewer. Enjoyed it a lot. I will be watching many more. Great to see women doing serious work with serious knowledge. Be well.
Wow! Such beautiful raw vastness of nature! And, your choice of BGM! & that sunset! 😍😍😍Just another great video! Thank you!!
Love the roadtrip footage. Keep up the great work Sarah.
Sarah we love your weirdness. Don't ever change
Loved the Plains Biome Reference !
Great video. What I find amazing is the greenery that Mother Nature has started back growing. 👍🏻
I like your road trips with Charlie, and with a magnificent countryside backdrop too. Can’t believe you found a pickup almost identical to yours. The subframe looks reasonable but will need the bed off for a better view. Looking forward to that video. 😀
Thanks so much for showing the countryside on your trip, I think your Grandmother would be proud!
Little did we know it, Sarah was slowly and quietly building a Penguin army an armada of total stuffed .....cuteness...
I'm always sad when the video ends. Sarah is the best. It's great to see Charlie helping out. If you guy's are not together anymore, I'd say you still are.
I thought Charlie was her cousin?
@@waynebullock9717 ex-bf
@@waynebullock9717 Well....it is Tucson XP
@@Moonrocket59 I went back and re-watched the Ranger road trip - Sarah said "uncle" and my brain somehow associated Charlie with the uncle lol
Friends with benefits maybe?
YES!! Ranger content!! Having the parts truck is a great source for the parts/fasteners/wiring, etc. for a fraction of the cost. Bonus that most of the A/C stuff is there. When I did my efftwofiddie, I used two trucks, it saved my ass since I could cut the siezed bolts on one truck to save a bracket, then destroy the bracket and other surrounding bits on the other truck to save another part that was needed.
That's why I love my ranger there's a couple junkyards nearby that are just filled with them
Sarah you did more in one short video than Gotham Garages Constance has done in the last two years:) Enjoyed your presentation. Cheers
I’m a severe workaholic.. not sure if that’s a good thing. Lol
The tonneau cover is the reason it is so nice
Great footage of unbelievable scenery. My first Mustang had a 351 Cleveland, loved it.
Been looking forward to you applying your many skills & OCD to restoring this truck 😊❤️
i love when you have concern about the head . Thank you for your tenderness, i will now subscribe Thank You
What an epic battle with the bed liner. You are the winner.
Such a dependable friend! I love northern AZ too! Looking forward to seeing you clean up the frame, and I can't wait for updates on the other rides.
Well done to Charlie for a safe trip
He’s one lucky B though 😂
If your Grandma is half as proud of you as I am for the effort you’re making on her truck
I’d have this over new any day, it’s old skool but fab 🏴🙏🙏🙏
Love the road trip footage.
I love driving that stretch of I-40 from AZ to NM!
OMG, I lived in Snowflake for a year as a kid. Would not recommend… I can still smell the pig farms stench that blows through town when the wind shifts wrong, lol. (ShowLow is cool though!) Also, we had a green 72 Datsun pickup all through my childhood, so this whole video brought back memories. 😹
Too bad you couldn't make it up to Cortez or Durango for a day while you were so close. This is the perfect time of year to visit them!
I’m looking forward to this project, such a great little four wheel drive. I have zero doubt it will be the best example of that model year truck anywhere when you’re done.
love this , I had a 86 ranger short box that came with a 2,3 ltr ,5speed , I raised the body 2 inches to clear the bell housing of the 5.0 l , had duel exaust but I had to take two MagnaFlow mufflers on their sides and while side by side weld them together and stuff them across from the fuel tank and next to the drive shafts (passenger side) then have turn downs behind each rear wheel , what a sleeper ...
It's refreshing to see a female not afraid to get dirty , a pretty woman with skills , Awesome.
I live in a dry area but heard those bed liners scratch the paint underneath from vibrating the trapped grit like sandpaper. Urban legend even says you'll find a raw steel bed from the paint being completely gone. Glad you proved me wrong.
Thanks for the scenery. Shame the old frame was that bad. Glad you lucked out with the frame swap find.
wrong frame booooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
@@rsprockets7846 ?
@@craigstrickland1572 ok. Go-to the ranger forum website...4bys have thicker and other differences in the frame. Additionally is. Spring pocted shock mounts all different......... More research needed to see if frames the same
@@rsprockets7846 O OK I thought one 4x4 frame for another would be a doable fix. Guess I was wrong.
Another interesting video. I love the fact you are able to do these projects.
Oh Sarah. Reel in the OCD - that truck and its frame are perfectly restorable. Descale it with the sand blasting, coat with some rust reformer, give it an oily rag and let it wear the pitting with pride. It's allowed to show its age!
Much love for this lady. Hot nerd with just the right amount of crazy what's not to love. Thanks
This Ranger project makes me really happy. You are going to do so right by your Gram.
Ooooo... nice find with the parts truck! That frame is going to look amazing once cleaned up. Jeez, your Grandma's truck is going to look like it's right off the assembly line when you're done with it - that's so cool!
This is gonna be such a fun build! Excited to see all the progress.
The first time I have liked a video before I started watching. Been waiting for this one :)
