    It's a great board I bought it when it was first released.It,s my first board and my main reason for buying it was the bad roads that we have here in Montreal Canada.It's not made for off road I think it's made for handling bumps and packed dirt.

      @@aaronvbarreraphotography2740 I fell once on my street when they tore the street up to change all the plumbing.The street was all soft unpacked gravel and stupid me decided to ride on it.I got stuck and fell forward with no wrist guards,I went and bought wrist guards after that.I did cut my hand a little bit but nothing crazy.
      Keep in mind I'm a noob who hasn't ridden a skateboard in 40 years so it takes a bit of getting used to.The board is stable and can handle bumps and cracks on a sidewalk.I have tried to ride on grass but it's not always that easy.I'm not use to going full speed on this board although I have done it several times but it does make me a bit nervous considering you fall on pavement at that speed your getting hurt.

    • @aaronvbarreraphotography2740
      @aaronvbarreraphotography2740 Před 4 lety +1

      @@steveshot81 I hear ya man. I'm 46 and took up long boarding after not stepping foot on a board since high school! I bought a cheap Chinese board and broke my wrist within a month. I then purchased a boosted board and although it did feel more stable, I did manage to fall several times, all due to bad roads here in NYC. I also built a couple of my own boards along the way. On my 46th birthday I went for a nice mellow ride and ended up tearing my rotator cuff. That was the final straw for me. I sold all of my boards immediately and bought a scooter. Despite being able to do roughly 20 mph on the scooter I find myself missing the rush of the electric skateboard. I just don't want to crash anymore! I'm somehow hoping the X2 will somehow improve my chances...

    • @steveshot81
      @steveshot81 Před 4 lety +2

      @@aaronvbarreraphotography2740 NYC has shitty streets but Montreal is probably just as bad due to the very cold winters and all the salt they throw on the street.The Ranger is pretty good at handeling bumps and uneven sidewalks.You could buy a Baja or trampa board if you want a real off road mountain skateboard,but those boards are 4 times the price.I do wear elbow,knee pads,wrist guards and a full face helmet whenever I ride the board.I know that I might look like I'm going in to battle with the zombies but I would rather look stupid and have a lesser chance of getting injured.I'm a self employed drain cleaner/plumber and the last thing I need is to break a bone.
      I see many younger people speeding without a helmet or any sort of protection and it makes me cringe.One fall and you can get seriously hurt especially at higher speeds.
      On the Ranger I feel pretty safe.I have tightened up the trucks a little for higher speeds.I do find you get the speed wobble if the trucks are loose but that might be me being a bit nervous at full speed.I find the 20 kilometers per hour a comfortable cruising speed.I do go the full 30 at times but being older I'm cautious because falling on pavement hurts like a son of a bitch.The board really does carve well and I like the flex of the deck,keep,in mind this is my first electric skateboard.I haven't ridden a board with regular skateboard wheels.I have considered buying another board just to have one but I don't really need it and if I did buy one I would have to be careful where I road it.

    @Talon Sei Great review Talon! I have been checking every morning for you to review this.. and it felt like Christmas today when I saw it! Hah
    So, I’ve put over 1000 miles on my Acton Blink s2 (terribly stiff board, a bit slow 18mph, and range is so so - about 7 miles). I’m ready to at another to my quiver. It’s going to be: this x2, the g3 or g3+. I live in SW Florida with flat, paved roads, side walks, parks, beach, boardwalks, and some flat off-road trails.
    I 100% agree with you, and was worried about this - that the speed/power is a little bit underwhelming. It sounds like the x2 will be marginally faster, but longer range, than my s2. BUT with the ability to go (mostly) anywhere. The speed and carve ability / feel while carving on pavement are my 2 concerns with the x2, but I want to want it!
    What would you recommend for me? Try something new - the x2 - and then buy another tarmac speed-forward board down the line...? Or go for one of the other boards?
    Thanks for the advice, and thanks for reading this long post if you get to it!

    Hey guys needing some much needed advice. I live in south Alabama and looking to buy my first board. I'm 6'2 200lbs and don't have much experience with skateboarding. I'm curious what you guys would recommend to be my first board. I'm looking at the x2 because I think it'll do great on the terrain down here where I live and looks like it would be stable. Any advice is much appreciated!

    You think youd be able to screw in straps to make it a genuine mountain board?

    Talon! Boards are so expensive in canada.. I had planned to get the g2t but after shipping to Can it was going to cost just about 800 Dollars.. so then I decided on getting the g2 black and even that was like 650 Dollars.. like honestly unless the price comes down I just don't see it as worth it. I've seen all your vids. What do u think would u pay 650 for the g2 black.. prolly not hey?

      Try living in Australia. My G2T came to $940 AUD ($844 CAD) and that was with a $30 discount. Worth it though, only other options here are overpriced Evolve and Boosted boards or cheap and nasty Chinese boards.
      I think the extra cash for the G2T over the G2 is worth it. Extra range, nicer remote (in my opinion), a bit faster, overall better looking (again in my opinion).

      I have not and because I haven’t heard of it, I probably wouldn’t trust it. Can’t go wrong with hub motors on a board like this.

    I would love an eboard which goes at least 34mph. This way I would feel safer going at a car speed in slow traffic avenues, because at that speed, i think that they wouldn't feel the necesity to pass me, or get mad at me for going a little bit slow infront of them.

    • @TalonSei
      @TalonSei  Před 4 lety +1

      Still have the GTX with street wheels. GTX is much faster lower and more expensive. This X2 is more capable for riding different terrain, and has a better price. Check the spreadsheet in the description for more info to compare.
