Mary Wilson! Everyone did great. But Mary had my attention!
Diana Ross' singing voice was so fluid and gorgeous in those days. No doubt, she was special. She just had the whole package and more.
Mary looked fine even in that corny get up. The lady is just beautiful!
Although the skit is designed to showcase Miss Ross it is obvious that Wilson and Birdsong along with the Temptations were polished, talented performers in their own right. I see them all as SUPERSTARS!
its your big break! Take it....
...BYE BABY
LMAOOOOOOO
"You gotta get behind the soda fountain and scoop your way to the top." OMG! How did they keep a straight face singing that goofy stuff?
Thanks for posting. This skit was completely goofball, but the sound and visuals are better than listening to the original '69 soundtrack album. Without the live show to accompany the songs, the album was really flat. It's a shame we'll never see these things released legit, I think we'll find out evidence of extraterrestrial aliens before we see DVDs of the old Supremes/Tempts TV specials!
Seeing these "dusters" takes me back to a time & place that has been all but obliterated from my life. It's hard to imagine that I was just 15 at that time & still enjoying the memory of their "TCB" special. BTW, regarding only 4 Temps: I"ve read that Eddie Kendricks couldn't get into all the "play acting" and that's why he's missing. I would love to hear a version of "Remember Me" by one you mixing gurus using the "bye baby" of Mary & Cindy from this skit. Thank You for posting this!!!!!
Where did you read that?
Hillarious
wow dis was really funny. i think diana would have been a great actress epecially comedic because she is naturally silly. did anyone else notice dat sum of here dance moves she in dis clip she does in Lady Sings the Blues when she's auditioning? lol
@TheReturnOfBigBear jajajajajaa you silly willy.
@BlogShag It's the LIGHTING (this was 1968) . . . I just saw Diana in July 2010 and she is exactly the same tone as she was when I first saw the woman in 1968.
@totaly52 He's "Mr Producer" (unseen).
3:12-3:38 sounds like Mel Brooks... correct me if I'm wrong
Yea, I heard the same thing as well. Do you know why he wasn't in the skit?
no - i don't know why eddie is not in the skit - i wish i knew why.
@etrax2000
You, etrax2000, give Diana Ross way too much credit. And by the way, I DON'T KNOW THIS THING YOU SPEAK OF AS "B"! As the saying goes "takes one to.." blah blah blah. You get it?
i thought so, but she was very sublte with it over the years but i could tell, i knew somethign was off, granted she didnt' go overboard with it like sooo many celebrities have done (Lil 'Kim for instance). . .
Cindy sure looks great in that mini skirt. Va va va voom!
ill take on ANY DIANA HATERS...this is the reason Diana Ross is......DIANA ROSS!!!
there were only 4 temptations - i think eddie was missing.
Maybe he was sick or refused to do something like this
@@garymayfield5995 someone said he was sick
but why is it so light now? it's as bright as her bi-racial childrens and as light as florence ballards. Please help me to understand, do you think she's bleached her skin over the years?? i just don't get it.
In the long ago era, TV productions used few cosmetics that were created for Blacks, and since Blacks were not often featured in TV programs, they were not very adept at lighting them for their appearances. Today, fortunately, all that is different. But, though she may have better quality make-up and be better lit for appearances, Diana Ross is still Black, beautiful and extremely talented.
