When I see things for sale that children have made, I choose to believe that the child grew up and donated it with other stuff that they don’t want 🤷🏻♀️ Makes it less sad than the alternative 🤓🥰
Charlotte ...When my mom and dad moved to another state I had made a glazed handprint mold in kindergarten. They weren’t downsizing because my mom took three sets of dishes with her, the thing she did give back to me was that little handprint. It nearly broke my heart, now my mom is gone and it’s left to me to get rid of something I thought meant so much to her...guess it didn’t after all.
@@deniseangonese8314 i think your mom did cherish that handprint of yours. She liked it enough to save it for you to cherish for much longer then she could. Now she knows it lives on for another generation and you can keep it then pass along to your kids.
When kids in our family graduate college and get a place of their own we get the Christmas ornaments that we have ties to, either the ones we were given with our names and dates or photos or the ones we made along the way. My mom still very much wants to see them every year just at our house where she knows they have a good future.
If parents wait too late to pass things on they arent always assured it will get to the place they want it to be. Hope you can treasure that handprint as I am sure your mom did before she passed it along to you!
Fantastic buy on the crystalline pottery. I live near Seagrove, NC, a famous pottery area, and we can't buy a vase that size for that price.
I agree. We go through Seagrove atleast once a year and thats a great price.
NC Seagrove pottery is famous. The real quality crystalline is made by Phil Morgan. He basically “invented” the process. His pottery is gorgeous!
We had some strangers give us an artificial Christmas tree one year. They were at a thrift store to donate it but struggled and wanted it to be with a family. We were grateful. It was a very nice tree. When we set it up there was a handprint clay ornament in the box. We have kept the ornament in the box all these years! I still feel weird about it.

I have that exact bowl for sale on eBay. It’s J I Co circa 1967. I was told that because it’s J I Co and NOT the company that made the “tutti frutti” that it’s considered millefiori adventurine mosaic.
I wouldn’t consider it millefiori. I’ve sold millefiori before and it looks more like flowers. But I could be wrong.
Crazy Lamp Lady I thought I saw some in the center of the bowl but I don’t have it sitting in front of me like you 🤷♀️. I’m going on what the experts in the Murano FB group told me on my bowl and they are extremely similar. If you search J I Co Murano bowl mine should pop up if you wanted to look. 🙂👍🏻

Penny from 1969, we have found your hand print. I probably made my mom her hand print plaque that year also, I was 5 and in kindergarten. It seems like such a personal, yet random item to end up in a thrift/antique shop. 😥❤
I miss your old way of doing things...shoppimg and then a haul video. The fleaarket and auction hauls are great but I do miss the others. Sometimes we aren't sure whether you get an item or not and I enjoyed knowing what you paid and expected to get (always rooting for you to make good money) plus with the hauls you talked more about the pieces. I have learned alot from you.
And that little Crown Ducal set of sugar and creamer matches a fruit bowl I’ve got. It came out of my Grandmother’s house with a set of matching candlesticks.

That Salmon Falls pottery is from the 80s to 90s. It is pottery made in Dover, New Hampshire. It was made by a guy named Andy, ( some of his earlier stuff says Pottery by Andy). He used to come in the sandwich shop I worked at in college. He was always dusty and I didn't know why. I was impressed when I found out what he did. I was too broke to buy his stuff except I did pick up a few of his seconds. I have 3 small pieces that I cherish and my Mom has one I gave her as a gift.

Anytime I go goodwill or garage saling i so wish you were there with me lol because I never know if it's a good piece or not I do take out my phone and check eBay but I'm not as gutsy as you but you know the quality of them better than me!! I am and have been learning a lot from you and for that I thank you so much!! I definitely look at plates and glass differently these days! 😁

p.s.s. A couple of the airbrushed rooster restaurant ware plates sold for $15 on eBay. I thought it would be more than that...you sure know your vintage/antique items. Learn something new every time I watch.

I bring home photos of children I don't know when I thrift because it's so sad no one wanted it. I do get some strange looks when people ask me who they are and I tell them I don't know. I do just bring home really old photos.
You make me want to go out and check our thrift stores, but I have in the past and didn't do so well.

That's what I do with things like that. I do find the idea of any of my family's things ending up on a Goodwill shelf heartbreaking, but the worst ones are things like that or family pictures. So sad, especially that they're jumbled around. I think antique dealers treat them a bit better but even household items represent a person's life.
I only have attatchement to my childrens things incase they wanted to keep them or show their kids. What they do with them after i couldnt care less. Plus as a Christian I have no true attatchment to anything in this world and am not sad that they wont be coming with me. None of my brothers nor me would have kept our prints...we just arent super sentimental

if you turn the box on its side you will see the mouse. turn the box so the lady's face is pointing down towards the floor and her feathers up. the mouse is on the crown of the hat with its nose in towards the feathers.

Jocelyn, are you allowed to ask for the best price of an item? Here in the UK, I can go into an antiques centre full of booths and ask at the desk for the best price/trade price of an item and the desk clerk will either know the amount of discount the dealer will allow or will ring the dealer directly to ask.
You can do that in the US. My husband found some taxidermy he knew a friend would like and asked at the front for them to call the owner to negotiate the price. They happily called and a lower price was accepted.
I think especially for expensive items it’s fine to ask.
However I think in Jocelyn’s case it gets to be touchy because she is reselling and also making money off of videos as well as trying to establish herself in the community. I would think she would save that for rare occasions when she is buying for herself 🤷🏻♀️ it could just be touchy in her situation and I’m sure she doesn’t want to burn bridges.

CLL mentioned that she could, but knows they are resellers also, and doesn’t want to reduce their profit. Very nice policy I think, especially since she is on CZcams and is known locally. Some places around me will give resellers 10% off with showing their reseller license you get from the state. I would ask to give the seller a call on a large purchase if I thought they were really overpriced but I’m more of a thrift (charity) store shopper. Missouri says hi to the United Kingdom. 👋🏻

Great stuff!!! But again you didn’t look at the apple S&P... in front of the Santa’s... just bought some to go w/ the cookie jar my friend got me for Christmas... You really need to look at the Apple things... You don’t see them that often...from the 1930s... Have seen the cookie jars for as high as 45$...am curious as to how much they are going for in your area... If you could get them for a good price think they might bring a good return... But am biased... my mom had one when I was growing up .. and think they may have gotten it for a wedding present in 1939... Have no idea what happened to it..Been looking for one I could afford... not 45$ tho!!! Also found a smaller jar... but with no lid...2.00$.. was so happy!!!.. Just brings back a lot of good memories!!!.. Even if you don’t buy.. look at the price!!!! Please.... Thanks!!!
