The Goodwills in my area went stickerless, and I love it. It actually is much cheaper now. For instance all purses are 5.99, and all dishes are .99 each.
The fact that you are going above & beyond to share all your knowledge with us is AMAZING and the delivery of live vs voice-over should never be the deciding factor of liking your videos! Either way I wanted to say “Thanks!” 🥰
I agree!
When I cannot get out to shop myself, your Video's sure are refreshing to watch..
Thank You !
The 1940 item - what a great find! 🇨🇦
Good find on the bowl! You never know what you'll find at a thrift store. Last week at my local Goodwill, I scored 2 Utagawa Kunisada wood block prints. They are 200 hundred years old and in good condition with provenance on the backs. They are worth a minimum of $150. My price? Just under $9! Keep hunting. There are treasures everywhere!
“He has a spear ... I just can’t condone these things”. Way to go, Jocelyn!
Someone once gave me an expensive trinket box that, if you looked closely, featured a circus bear and a tamer with a whip. I gave it away, period.
I actually said out loud Good For You when she said that line about the elephant bag.
I'm finding it amusing that you are excited by LEATHER purses, but repulsed by a mere picture of threatened elephants. An animal actually died to make the purse. The picture...not so much.
Pretty sure I saw a hole in the bottom of that purse.
Just gonna say, I LOVE your voiceovers. You have a pleasant speaking voice.
Prefer the voiceover. Background noise makes it hard to hear you.
Value Village prices in Ontario have increased substantially. A Dollar Tree item bought new for $1.25 is often priced at $2.99. George women’s used T shirts from Walmart are often priced well above the store price for a brand new item. There is the odd “ find” but those are few and far between these days.
Goodwill prices in Madison, WI have jumped too. It's crazy!
I can't tell you how many times I have seen dollar tree figurines and dishes double and triple the cost. It's insane, that they do that!
Red Wing Pottery was made in Red Wing, MN. Most of the pottery was sold along the Mississippi River. They just retired in 2020. Highly collectible! Families typically pass the pottery down from generations. I’ve inherited several with the iron handles. If you find any, even beat up and cracked they sell for several hundred of dollars.
I really can't thank you enough for these videos - I am so enjoying going to goodwill - and this week I found a 15 inch Roseville Zepher Lily Vase - in perfect condition for SEVEN dollars! If I hadn't seen your videos I wouldn't have ever been in a Goodwill!
Owa is a designer handbag! Found this on a thrift store site here in the UK.
All OWA products are individually handmade in Germany with the finest German craftsmanship, according to traditional methods. Bernd Michael Ostwald, the creative mind behind OWA, grew up in the traditional and family-owmned manufactory for leather. Since the 1920s, leather was treated by hand in the "Oberfränkische Schäfte- und Schuhfabrik" of his grandfather, Bernhard Ostwald. With the reconstruction in Germany, the desire arose to combine tradition with modernity. Thus a new brand "OWA" was established in 1950 in Nuremberg, Germany. OWA bags retail for 500-100 Euro.
Well shoot. 😂 Someone else is going to get a good flip!
@@CrazyLampLady Awww...i was having a yell at you Jocelyn...lol...I only know about this because my friend bought.one from a charity shop here and looked it up! Maybe it will still be there for you next time. Congrats on the beautiful plate sweetpea. X
That bag was amazing! It had lots of compartments and a zipped section. I could do with a bag like that!
I also like the voice over
I do too. My senior ears cant tell what she is saying when there is so much background noise
ditto
Can't hear you
There was a large Dedham pottery rabbit pitcher on the bottom shelf at about 5:00 that you didn’t look at. If it was original, they go for good money. If it was part of the newer Potting Shed line, they are still worth about $30-40. Was hard to see in the video. I was telling you to pick it up but I guess you didn’t hear me 😜
🤣😁
Saw it too!!
I was yelling too😂
I was yelling you need to address that pitcher😂
The person pricing that glass dish obviously didn’t notice the date, great score for you. 👍
I prefer the voiceover to the background noice.
Why do people complain so much, love your video's all the time❤
When you open your store, you could do a “Matchy-Matchy” section similar to the bags on the end caps. 💡
...not gonna lie...do miss the haul videos with andrew at your dining room table...good times, good times...
Petting the elephants and that’s why you are loved! 💕
Candles and chocolate! When you ship these in the summertime please know that the floor on my mail truck can be 137° or more! We don't know what's in the parcels we are delivering until they start leaking.
Good info. The Vermont Country Store won't ship chocolate during the summer.
Exactly what I suspected! Thanks for confirming.
Yikes! How warm does it get for you??
@@elizabethgerdes6038 I have measured the air temperature to be 120° before when it was 95° outside. The older mail trucks have no air conditioning and only a small fan on the dashboard. Thank a mail carrier, most of them work hard for you!
I like the voice over, prefer it to the background noise😉
I like the combination voiceover and natural background noise is fine. Sometimes when you hear other peoples conversations I understand why you have to do a voiceover. However today I would say about your plate SCORE! Score score OK score. Thanks so much for all your videos I am enjoying them very much.
WoW! WoW! & WoW! Congrats on the plate - that’s what it’s all about!!!! ❤️
I feel that any noise that threatens your ability earn income due to copyright strikes is a NO BRAINER! Any subscribers that complain about voiceovers in those conditions should either not watch or be prepared to contribute to the amount you would lose with the background noise.
I LOVE that you value us and our opinions! I enjoy videos when you can go back and forth from voiceover to actual background noise and I think those are my preferred uploads! With that being said you freely share your wisdom, advice, and tips with us and most people know that a CZcams channel takes huge amounts of effort and commitment so my ultimate advice is that you have every right and privilege to choose the best way to edit your videos! If some people feel the need to continually complain, it takes NO effort for them to NOT hit that play button and their ears can remain happily unoffended! (Lol I made that word up but if the adjective fits..........😉)
I prefer the voiceover as I can hear what your saying better. Always fun to go with you on your trips!
Cannisters were the four major food groups. Good job on the bowl!
If they don't want people to peel the sticker then they shouldn't put them over the mark. Put it on the side or top. Here we don't get fined thank god.
I don't get why they put the sticker right on top of the Maker's Mark it's silly. And it's those horribly sticky ones too! I found out Automotive brake disc/drum cleaner spray dissolves the adhesive. Probably nail polish remover would work great too.
@@godisgoodatht as a mechanic make sure that brake cleaner is non chlorinated. Your lungs will thank you
Fined? That happens. Yikes!
Who exactly “fines” you. I don’t think the store itself can do this. If the police are called what exactly are you charged with? Sorry this sounds a bit fabricated without more info.
Hippygram
Jocelyn said it in the video, not me. She said they could fine you 600$ i don't know your goodwills i live in Denmark😬
The local news featured a Goodwill that has a “boutique” section. It appears all the designer and better known upscale brands are displayed in this area. Of course the prices are a bit higher. Surprised it took them so long to do this. I’m sure they would have to have a staff member familiar with name brands and time for them to research items.
After watching your vids... I scored a Devil and Cards valet tray for $40 perfect condition and sold it for $400. That's my best sale yet... but I have many $1 purchases that I turned into $20 sales with FREE SHIPPING to boot!. This is turning into a good side hustle.
YAY! That’s amazing! Congratulations.
@@CrazyLampLady Well...Yeah.... Thanks to you. I don't have a particular discipline. I just buy what I like... (and often keep too much) You guys are the best! Keep up the good work teaching and inspiring.
17:22 is that one of the four Charmin little girls from back in the day. Remember when toilet paper used to come in blue, pink, yellow, and green... 😂. Now we can't even find any in white!! HAHAHA 😁😂
I love watching your videos❤. I've been shopping at Goodwill for years. I mostly buy home decor clothing, purses and shoes. Such bargains!
(Btw, the voiceovers are much easier to listen to.)
Voice overs are my favorite.
Pretty sure that thingamajig with the hinged lid is a pewter egg cup.
I was thinking it was for salt but not sure...
Holds your glass eyeball!!!
That is one noisy goodwill! Your voice overs are great don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I think the concrete floors and wire shelving don’t do much to dampen the noise. But they still have some great merchandise! ☺️
All that noise would be hard to hear every day
When it’s so noisy like that idk how people wish their was audio!
Verlys is an interesting French art glass company. In 1966 Fenton purchased some of their moulds and started producing a historical line in 1968. I think they used the earlier ones from the 1930s. Just some trivia.
I love trivia! Thank you!
You found some wonderful pieces. Good eye on the German Glass platter!
I love going to the Goodwill stores my first few times I found old lipstick cases and old pill boxes and I paid to do when $3 each to find out online they're worth anywhere between 20 and $40 each but they're so pretty I don't even want to sell them
I really enjoy these thrifting adventures with you.
You are such a wealth of knowledge, thanks for sharing 💙💙💙😁
Audio is great and clear without the airy background noise! Thanks!
You're videos are always fine. You'll never please everyone so no worries.
This is such a good Goodwill!! Great finds!
You and Andrew have no idea how much I enjoy your knowledge and videos
$ 600 fine for peaking under price tag? How the hell are they going to in force that.
I would actually love an opportunity to have someone at Goodwill present me with that fine! I would enjoy the entertainment of a guaranteed to be spirited debate!!
I’m not someone who really ever knowingly breaks rules but I’m tempted to go and just peel a tiny corner!........😈😈😈
That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Sheesh Goodwill
Goodwill should be fined for putting the stickers over the makers name every time
I ❤️the voice over, personally...
Your voiceovers are just fine, although occasionally muffled. I think the glass horse you picked up at 22:47 was a vintage Swedish Lindshammar Dala glass horse with sold prices on eBay $10-30., depending on size. It would have originally had a paper label. I don't know what the Goodwill price was but it could have been a nice item to pick up.
Thank goodness everyone is chiming in! Joce needs to learn Swedish and Finnish crystal now!
Clear section deserves a good look no doubt. That store had a lot of nice stuff.
I admire your restraint these days. It’s okay to be picky. And I don’t mind your voiceovers. You do you.
I like the voice over when you explain why you are taking something and why you aren't. I learn a lot and you don't have kids or parents screaming in the background.
I wish we could beep you as your shopping ....ohohoh get that, and that.... !
Our GW are not nice.
The Otagiri cups are Japanese style that is why there are no handles.
FYI .. There are 5 to a set in Japan
The oumbre green mugs were done by a professional potter. They were gorgeous and well made. I worked for a potter for several years. We made thousands of mugs, tankards, goblets for several renaisance festivals. I know a goodie when I see one 😊.
@@lisamason5178 the glazing was awesome. You can't really appreciate a great mug like that unless you know how many steps it takes to make that one mug. The bottom was something I hadn't seen before. We clean the bottom but not an edge like that. I loved those mugs and if I didn't live so far away, I'd go buy them! Do you have a website for your pottery?
Love Love❤ that bowl/plate from the 40's excellent find!!
There is a denby pitcher on the bottom shelf. It is in the white section with a bunny band.
Don’t worry About the voice over. We just love going with you to all the antique places.
I love when you show us your great finds. I’m so happy for you when you find that special and valuable piece! 🥰
$600.00 if you peel the price sticker from the bottom of an item? That's NUTS!!!! I don't believe that's being done where I live ( South). I enjoy the education & knowledge you share with all of us.
I sold the same wood vase for 85 and I paid 4 for it!
There was Dedham Pottery (Potting Shed) between minutes 5&6! Blue and white, crackly, bunnies...i know it because it's from around here in MA.
I saw that too I wish she would have picked it up!
I like the voice over. The background music is so distracting, something I know you can't help. You do really well.
Oh my not those horrible shevles again😬 the hippo with the bird on it's back is cute🤗
Rikke Meek Hippo with the bird is sold at Dollar Tee. There’s 4 different jungle animal cookie jars available. The giraffe one is super cute 🍪
Good for you and the elephant purse. My thoughts exactly.
At 13 minutes, the bottom left, the Beanie Baby tie dye bear jumped out at me. The original from 1996 is worth tens of thousands, if that was one, it still had the tags on and everything!!!!
Somehow I missed this video when it came out.🙄😢
The 1940's plate you looked up that last sold in 2013....wonder if the one you now have (had) was that very exact one. It's been 7 years, maybe they were ready for a change? Very unlikely, but wouldn't it be fun if it were!
We had a similar score found 8 charcole blenko hand blown cups for $4. Sold them for $145...!!
I like the voice over. I can understand you better. Besides you have a sweet voice. 😊
I agree! Jocelyn has a lovely way of speaking, doesn't she! She is very pleasant and friendly and makes me feel she cares.
I feel the same about her nice/calming voice. I love her word choices as well....” Delightful. “ 😉
I believe the little horse is a Dalaheste Swedish crystal.
Made by Lindshammer. Solds went for $13-$35.
Those canisters are a grandparent dream.
Love the voiceover. Have you ever thought of throwing some clothes into your cart to keep things from breaking?
I’m surprised you didn’t catch that Dedham Pottery pitcher. They sell for $20-25 on eBay, but really sweet. I love your job!
That has always been one of my regrets over this video. 😅
The stoneware floral cups I believe are Otagiri. I sold a set with a ship on it with the four cups and a teapot once.
I am fascinated by your luck! How are you always finding pieces? Wealthy people always changing their styles...But seriously!!! And in Wisconsin they always seem to cover the mark! Love watching you!
I have a plate similar to the glass one you picked up, except with a horse on it. It’s worth quite a bit of money too, they’re hand made and so beautiful.
Happy for you on the French glass Verely score
Jocelyn....You Rock! You will never please everyone but you do please everyone else. Stay true to yourself. 😺❤🐨
The gnomes!!!! My heart melted.
Fantastic find! Beautiful bowl! Love that you put the purse back with the hunter with spear! Great call! Be blessed!staye safe!✌️🙏🦋💕
I love all your videos! You share so much knowledge with us! I prefer the live video but if there’s a lot of noise, kids or loud music then I am very happy that you do the voice over!! Thank you! The loud background noise is very distracting.
The clear glass horse was so pretty. Looks Scandi.
Yup. She missed a Swedish crystal Dala horse. Alas...
From Kosta Boda
Oh and I love the voiceovers. Its almost asmr you have a great voice
My mom made those ceramic cats and the hippo back in the 70’s !
I like the voice over, I think you do great!
I love these ceramic cats you collect I think you can make such a fun display with these. I saw your house tour and a few months later came across two cats and raided my Mom's scrap fabric bins and made them little scarfs and put them in a wine box with this vintage table cloth in my sun room and everyone thinks they are hysterical like they are two cats spilling the latest tea lol. I do not mind in least you do voice overs if you were with Andrew or someone I'd miss the fun banter but better to be safe then sorry when it comes to copy right music or a child or adult lol in a meltdown. Ahhhh!!! I spotted a cobalt blue carpet ball on a shelf. Those are my chic weakness! I know it sounds wacky but I collect the blue and white patterns and then have them displayed on large blue and white platters and large bowls. My sis and niece were out and set me pic's of ones they found and I was like "Save him! We must return him to his people!" His people being my collection of carpet balls.!~
I wish Goodwill would place their stickers to the side or on the inside, so the marks show! So irritating!
Congrats on the 1940 plate!! It is very lovely. Thanks as always for dragging your camera around for us!
Loved the canister set. The horse. Nice finds.
The glass-horse is a "dalahäst" :) from Sweden🇸🇪 Always fun to see some Swedish items:)
Yes! I had high hopes she would pick that up!
11:33 I’ve sold those Lazy Daisy green Corelle cups and saucers before.
The ice glass vase is by Hoya Japan and is the same company that does the ice bucket... I just sold 1 and have a full set of glasses, bucket and the original Hoya tongs still.
10:30 In front those plates and pudding bowls could also very likely be Wirkkala iittala. That stuff has good value !
Prefer the voice over! Also, love to see how much you sold the treasures for!
Love the old plate GOOD find. God bless you both 🙏😇
Fantastic find on the 1940 signed nowl!❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
I'm fine with however you want to handle the audio.
Me too! I appreciate your videos so much, do them any way you want. ❤
I like the voice-overs.
I do too. More info on your thought process.
Seriously, I prefer it where there are loud voices, muzak, ect. Thanks, Jocelyn!
@@terijackson2010 I don't always dislike background noise but sometimes it's just loud and makes it difficult to hear. With voice-overs, it's just easier to hear what she's saying.
Michelle Barnhill- don’t forget crying children and nagging parents/spouses
@@terijackson2010 Preaching to the choir!! That
mess gives me a headache!! I love learning about things from Jocelyn, but sometimes the noise keeps me from finishing videos.
15:36 Vintage Glass Dala Horse is Lindshammar, Sweden
I saw that too!!
I know! I was woohoo! But then boohoo not in her cart!
I love the voice overs. Especially when there are screaming kids in the background.
I love and appreciate your videos so much Jocelyn. One question. Does anyone here find themselves pointing and talking to the screen for Jocelyn to turn over an item? LOL.
The egg and chick Easter planter looks like it could be a Josef piece. They used stickers on most of what I have seen out there.
