- Public broadcasters from 41 countries will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest when it returns to our screens next May.
Fans of the Contest will welcome back ARMTV from Armenia and RTCG from Montenegro, both taking to the stage for the first time since Tel Aviv in 2019.

this was probably some of the best graphics the Eurovision channel has ever had over the years... and we do not even have a visual identity for the upcoming contest. not only are the social media channels evolving, but I also think RAI is preparing for something big. incredibly excited for Turin '22 and I really hope three more countries will show up to take up the 44-country limit (looking at you, Turkey, Kazakhstan - please give them an invitation as they are as worthy as Australia for it - and Hungary).
Turkey doesn't need an invitation. Whenever they want they can come back. Because they are a member of EBU.

Im German Turkish and I want Turkey to finally return but as long as Erdogan and his Conservative party is ruling the country, it won’t be possible. They don’t support LGBTQ+ and ESC is super LGBTQ+-friendly

Turkey and Hungary don't want to participate. At least the governments of that countries
It’s their choice, EBU can’t do anything about it if ther’s not even the will to participate…
Hopefully once the Turkish government will change we will return.
EBU had discussions with Turkey and it looked promising but in July the channel changed management and the new one were not interested in ESC.
As for Hungary they have no interest in returning..
Turkey don't participate because of the government. The reasons are the voting system and previous LGBT singers. This is very annoying. I want to see Turkey, Hungary and Bosnia are come back and Kazakhstan is debut :)

You know if Andorra really promised her they would return she should have made them sign a contract. That is how you solidify a deal. Just saying you will return means nothing.
I would love to see Andorra and Luxembourg back. Expecially the latter: a country with so much history in the contest, not participating since 1993, would be such a great return.

My wishlist for Turin 2022:
- A lot of songs in native languages.
- A diverse contest, with songs from a lot of genres.
- All the Big 5 members in top 10 🇮🇹🇫🇷🇪🇸🇬🇧🇩🇪.
- 100% new artists, without any comebackists. As much as I would like to see some artists returning to the contest, I want to see new faces. Last time we had a contest with 100% new faces was in 2004. And I wasn't a fan back then (I was only born in 2004), so I would really like to live an edition like that.
- Interval acts which are 100% performed by Italian artists, celebrating the music and the culture of the host country (and ofc Måneskin's music), without any past winners from other countries or an international artist like Justin Timberlake in 2016 or Madonna in 2019.
- Georgia 🇬🇪, Latvia 🇱🇻 and Montenegro 🇲🇪 (the 3 countries which have the longest NQ streak) all qualifying.
- A country which has never won, or hasn't won for a long time, winning.
About the last one, Spain is one of these. They won twice in a row in 1968 and 1969 and after that they didn't won anymore.

I agree. Chains On You is their best song, and for me, was a potential top 3 entry. Athena is also versatile and very generous to her fans. However, I fear that Armenia might turn elsewhere because of the fact Maneskin were not a 2020 entry, and because Athena, whilst she has strong ties with the HOD, has far less ties with the Armenian music scene than other acts the HOD likes. She is making returning there her priority once the OMG video is released though. That song has phrases in German and is very catchy but I don’t think it’s the song I want her to send.

well, it's as I, at least, would expect the most. I just wish we got a bit more, tho, up to 43. Kazakhstan should one year debut, and Turkey should one year return.

Apparently what's been holding back Kazakhstan is the fact that they have the same dial number as Russia, so it'd mess both televotes. Hopefully we can see it change soon.

@@jexyjs I said apparently, also, the EBU probably sorted out things for the Sammarinese vote considering that they're a smaller country, plus they had been taking part for a while. Their original debut (2008) although in the 100% televote era, was during Italy's hiatus, starting from their return (2011) San Marino's votes were 100% jury based because, well, it's a small country.
