Eurovision: All Countries on Qualifying Streaks (2023 post-contest)
Vložit
- čas přidán 24. 05. 2023
- In this video, we are looking at the countries that have successfully been qualifying from their most recent semi-finals and for how long they have managed to do that consecutively. I have not included instances where each country was an automatic qualifier for any reason as they haven't actually qualified from a semi-final to make it there. However, being an automatic qualifier does not break a qualifying streak.
I have included all countries on qualifying streaks, no matter how long ago their last participation was. In cases of ties, the country with the higher qualification rate won the tie.
Hope you enjoy the video! Don't forget to like and subscribe!

I don't think Luca should represent Germany as he is originally from Switzerland and Germany has enough aspiring artists on it's own.
Maybe he should go again for Switzerland

If Cyprus and Israel hadn't gotten their NQ last year, they would have gotten their 8th and 7th qualification streak in a row this year. What a waste.
Yes :( the sad thing Cyprus was a televote qualifier last year
Israel deserved that NQ last year, though, it's the reason why they changed their selection method and internally picked Noa to represent them this year, and it paid off as she gave them their first top 5 placement since 2018.
Same with Serbia.. We would have a streak of 8 qualifications if it wasn't for NQ in 2017 (which missed qualification by 1 point :/)

I wonder how would Top 5's qualifying streaks look like if they had to go through the semis as well. I think Italy would be the only one with 100% streak.
2014 shows that probably even Italy wouldn't manage to have 100% (as Sweden doesn't)

One of my favorite type of your videos, very interesting! 😁
What do you think about the idea of making a video about the number of top 10 results in recent 5 esc editions of each participating country (and ofc rating them)? 😊 I can already tell that Italy is slaying that one. 😂😍
As a Swiss its so crazy to see Switzerland being successful. We almost never qualified in 20 years before 2019. So happy to see my country having better chances now 🥲

Great graphics. Lovin' it!
The fact that Sweden keeps coming 1-3 in their semis (besides from 2021) is quite impressing🫣
Wasn't Ukraine 2007 Verka Serduchka?

@@cypriotmappers5342 yes, we know now that countries on a non qualification streak can come up with a top 10 song the following year, so maybe some of these relegated countries could have done pretty well at the contest.

@@Rash23215 since semifinals hadn't been discovered yet(/j), if you didn't do well the previous year or the previous 5 years, you weren't allowed to participate the next year to make space for new countries (e.g. the break up of yugoslavia and the soviet union, or countries from the eastern bloc)
@@cypriotmappers5342 Oh damn, I didn't even know that. Tha's harsh, lmao.
I think ESC is in such a good place right now with the way the semi finals work. I really like the change that only televoters can decide the top 10 of each semi final and tjhe 2016 change of giving all televotes at once made it so entertaining to watch.
I only think they should do something about the big 5 automatically qualifying. Still something wrong about that, and they rarely do well (apart from Italy)
zena being the last contestant for belarus is great honestly
It's sucks in so many levels that 2022 ruined the great streaks (begin in 2015) of Cyprus and us (Isreal). if Andromache and MDB quelifed in 2022, we would have 7 (Israel since hosting in 2019) and 8 streakts.
I think Ukraine have such a high streak is a bit flukey considering the one time they sent an entry which did poor (Time - O-Torvold) they were already automatic qualified, but still, some really strong songs in that mix
The auto qualifications aren't included in the count in the video.
