C5 Oil Change | Mr. LSX DIY

I felt as though another short, simpler and sweet instructional oil change video was needed among the thousands of others already out there.
NOTE: In the video I don't show myself raising the rear of the vehicle to completely drain out all of the oil. Normally when I do an oil change I'm on the edge of the driveway so its level.

Great video, I found with a c5 ls oil pan the rear end needs to be off the ground. The car needs to be level to allow all of the oil to drain out of pan. Also I pre-fill my new oil filter before installing it.

I normally do it on the edge of the garage so even “lifted” it’s still level.

I agree with SunWarrior below... rear of Corvette should be higher than the front to get the most oil out of the pan. With the front higher than the rear, you are leaving perhaps a half quart behind. Also agree about filling the oil filter before installation. Maybe your video was quick but it wasn't the most informational.

It’s the plate that holds the oil cooler up.

@@colemcmeans7809 Yea the plate holds up the cooler just infront of the radiator. A must-mod. Oil never goes above 220 after some hard hits.
