I’m an junior Astro undergrad and I’ve rewatched this video every year and it only gets more and more accurate Edit: I graduated and I’m starting my PhD in cosmology less than two months. Verdict: still accurate
@@shahadabdulaziz7339 my undergrad astrophysics education was at a no-name liberal arts college smaller than most people’s high schools lol. Opportunities were slim but the singular Astro Professor basically I had his undivided attention bc I was the only Astro student in my year. (I think there were only ever ~5 astrophysics students at a time in the college). It was also a minor rather than a major, so I technically studied physics!
I think you might be confusing an astrophysics degree with an astronomy degree. Astrophysics students are basically physics student with a focus in astronomy, at least at my university. We take almost all the same classes as the physics students, but we also take planetary science and astrophysics-specific material.

Science is always a lonely path to go, especially for physics, none of my friends who take grade 12 physics end up actually majoring physics in universities, all they want are just engineering programs. This makes me sad. I have cu’s offer for astrophysics now as I really really love space. But what makes me struggling is that it’s very likely to leave me jobless even I get master degree. So I reject the offer and take economics from mcmaster instead. I am sorry astrophysics, u have always been my dream, I wish I could spend my entire life with u, seeking the secrets of this universe:(
Hey I know it’s been 3 years but I can assure you anything physics or physics adjacent will not leave you jobless. It’s a highly employable major across many fields if you struggle to stay in your preferred field. Physics is about problem solving and it makes it one of the most employable majors

LOOOOL Hey, thank you so much for this!I have a question that I'm struggling to find an answer for and wondered if you can possibly help :-) Basically, I've been looking at various sacred calendars; solar, lunar, luni-solar etc and through research realise that our modern calendar doesn't reflect the true original calendars and their characteristics... so I've been wanting to track when the moon is in my sun sign (I am Taurus) and there are a few online facilities that help do so, but how do I know which ones are accurate? So, I guess what I am asking is: how are such things calculated in todays world? Are there camera's / telescopes etc. where the moon can actually be seen in a certain zodiacal sign? Is it something I would be able to see for myself? Or is it more of an algorithmic calculation?I just really want to be able to know when the moon is in my sun sign 100% accurately... is it possible?Thank you so much for your time, I know this is a very long winded comment :-) Peace and light to you

You solve theta for one side, then you simply take the ratio, plug in all your constants . . . and then you get the wrong answer" Sounds legit
Watching this always makes me wanna study astrophysics at CU Boulder lol Probably going to UCSC but CU Boulder seems so much fun too! Only a month left till May 1st :/
I most relate to the part where they were solving Laplace's equation using boundary conditions. The fact that the dude said to use Legendre poly's was likely due to the fact they were working in spherical coordinates lol

I want to be an astrophysicist so bad! I super love Maths and Physics, I love Astronomy as well and all things related to outerspace. I want to pursue a degree in Astrophysics but what's stopping me is that: 1.) No Astrophysics course available in any universities in my country. 2.) Don't have enough money to study Astrophysics abroad. 3.) Maybe I'd be too dumb to even study Astrophysics but eh, if I really wanna pursue it so much I would try to study harder 4.) So yeah, I reallyyy wanna be an astrophysicist and work in NASA when I grow up, but I don't even know if I could achieve it :( Hopefully I would though.

The more worried you are, the better you understand the material. If you're calm and happy, you don't understand anything.
