Honestly ap classes aren’t worth it unless your really interested in the subject/you absolutely HAVE to take it. the AP Exam is not worth all the stress. Before high school I expected to take 4+ ap classes my senior year but that quickly changed as I’m taking ap world history this year and now I only want to take two or three ( ap calculus and environmental science) this year has already been so stressful and sleep depriving and I’m only taking one ap class. I quickly learned that you don’t have to be in 5 ap classes to be considered smart

I know this comment is 3 months old, but I still have to agree 100% with you. Schools think that they have to keep raising the bar so much so that students start losing the desire to learn.
Just a couple of weeks ago I just about pulled an all night-er finishing up my history hw -- 40 vocab words with three sentence explanations each, a synthesis essay, guided readings for a whole chapter, and a couple DBQs due in matter of two weeks (not to mention additional assignments and mini-projects the same teacher gave out during that time, and the fact that I'm just talking about an honors class). I would've chipped away at the work earlier, but unfortunately teachers really do think that you only have one class and do nothing else the whole day.
I wouldn't even dare call that teaching.

The sad thing is that this is pretty much how it is. You can’t win in top tier classes. There’s two things up for being sacrificed. Your title or your health. I personally plan on sacrificing my title. I won’t let school get in the way of the things that matter anymore. What good is an Ivy League college if you completely lose sight of who you are, your health, and the people around you? It isn’t any good.

It's usually Rhetorical Analysis essays and it's not as bad as some may think. You just need to be a quick thinker cause we get 40 mins for each so you have to be able to recognize forms of speech, different structures, the writer's thesis, etc.

AP classes depend on the teacher you get and how they teach the class. My school is really good with APs and for harder classes they break it up into a class that teaches the foundations and then the second semester they focus on building concepts and labs and it helps spread out homework and makes everything really manageable and people usually make much higher exam scores. But if you get a class with a bad teacher that teaches out of a textbook run for your life.

Was it more work than other kids, sure, but this is unbelievably exaggerated. Sleep, Good Grades, Social life, you can have all three in high school. It's not like we're in college as Engineering majors. I mean there's sports and clubs too, but I know many people who have 3+ AP and play a sport too. Also you don't have to get an A+ in every class either, unless you think not getting into Princeton is the end of the world. Maybe it's just the Souther California school system, but AP Classes are bitching.
Final thing: UC Berkeley( Or for those outside of Cali "Cal") represent.
