As far as I know, you also offer Quilt Pro water-resistant down quilt which is a close relative of Waterbloc Pro sleeping bags in terms of materials and technologies used. As it is advertised on the product's page on your website, Quilt Pro can be used, among others, as a "liner that turns a 3-season bag into a winter bag". My question is related to the particular combination of Waterbloc Pro -15° sleeping bag (comfort temperature -6°C/-13°C) with Quilt Pro (comfort temperature 5°C/0°C) used as a liner. The former is filled with 850 g of FP 850+ goose down, the latter - with 450 g of the same material. Stacking these two values results in impressive 1300 g of high-quality down. It surpasses the fill weight of a number of winter sleeping bags with a comfort temperature rated down to -25°C (Helsport Rago Down X-trem - 975 g, Rab Ascent 1100 - 1100 g) and is just a little below that of The North Face Inferno -40F/-40C (1356 g of FP 800 goose down). What would be your temperature rating (comfort/limit) for such combination?
HI There, This is an excellent question. Unfortunately we dont have an exact answer for you as this combination has not been tested and thus we would not be able to give an accurate answer. While combining the two bags would provide a great deal of warmth and insulation without having this combination EN tested we couldn't give a great answer. Our apologies. I read, that the -5° version has a comfort-temperature of -2°C and the -15° version has a comfort temperature of -6°C. I am planning a long distance hike in scandinavia in a temperature range of about +10 to minimum -5/-8 °C. Depending on elevation i would expect night-temperatures to be just above freezing most of the time. For now, I have a tent as shelter and a very good sleeping pad with R-value 3.8. Would you recommend your -15°(-6°C) version for my needs or would that be too warm for temperatures above freezing? I know this is very subjective, but maybe you can give me a hint. I am male, 25 with normal stature and normally don't freeze easily. However, I did have cold experiences with a +3°C comfort-temperature synthetic sleeping bag under the same conditions, so i would like to avoid that in the future.
HI There! For a trip like this we would most likely recommend the -15 version. When using a sleeping pad with an R-Value of 3.8 you sleeping bag comfort rating will not be as accurate. All EN tested sleeping bags are tested based on being on top of a 4.8 R-Value mat. With your sleeping pad being 3.8 R value it would likely be better to go with the -15 version.

Empfehlt ihr einen Liner bzw. Inlet, um innerhalb des Schlafsacks keine Feuchtigkeit zu erzeugen und die Daunen zu schonen?

Grundsätzlich brauchen die Daunen keine Schonung von Feuchtigkeit. Die Daunen nehmen keinen Schaden wenn sie mal Feucht werden und wieder getrocknet werden können. Um die die Isolationsschicht trocken zu halten, empfiehlt sich auf Mehrtagestouren in Gebiete geht, wo Minusgrade herrschen, der Einsatz eines VBL-Liners.
Dies hängt jedoch immer wieder von den äusseren Umständen ab, die sehr unterschiedlich und vielfältig sein können.
Der Waterbloc Schlafsack schützt effektiv gegen die feuchte Luft von Aussen und das Aussenmaterial Pertex QuantumPro hat eine angemessene Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit die dafür sorgt, dass die Feuchtigkeit verdunsten kann. Die Wahl des Schlafplatzes, die persönliche Konstitution, die Umgebung und auch die unterschiedlichen Wetterverhältnisse können jedoch auch Einfluss auf das Schlafsystem haben.
Hi there, I've seen great reviews of the Waterbloc Pro and would like to purchase it. My only consideration is whether to choose M or L. My height is 183cm, and according to your website the M version is up to 180cm height, so I'd be right on the edge. Which one would you recommend? Thanks!
