A basic how-to on how to bypass the shift on the fly system, fix the floppy passenger side axle, and install the ring and pinion on the front differential
I have a 95 2 door 2wd that's getting 4wd running gear installed. I have the steel diff and plan on an arb air locker to go in it. I aan definitely going to turn a spacer like you showed.
Thank you for mentioning greasing the gear puller. I run a maintenance crew and preach that endlessly to the guys but never seem to get through to them.
Could you swap the carrier and gears of a first gen tracker into a steel 3rd to avoid having to use the front diff delete cone? Fkd up fab is closed permently
Great video. I have a steel front diff on my 04 Grand Vitara. What years use the same spline count so I could swap 5.13 gear into mine I wonder. And could the original pump be used for a air locker out back?
Thanks for the video, I'm doing the steal diff conversion to my 01auto GV now. I have a question about the pinion. I saw you pulled the bearing off the pinion from the aluminum one. Did you use the steal diff pinion bearings and shims and crush sleeve when you did the swap? Thanks again and I hope to see another vid with the 2.5 swap.
I wonder if you can show me how to fix my four-wheel drive shifter. what could happen if the four wheel drive shifter lever went sideways. mine's laying on its side at the moment.
When you did the welding job on your other front diff, how did you get the "axle lock clutch" (the spring part which you didn't need to remove when you use a spacer) out of the "differential left case"? My welding job failed and I need to clean up the old welds so need to completely dismantle all parts. Spares are not available here in Australia so don't want to damage as I plan to hopefully find a spacer like you used. If you can help with sourcing one please let me know.Thank you
Awesome video I just broke my second aluminum diff on my zr2 tracker. Where were you able to find your steel diff? i’ve search the Internet high and low and call around local yards The only place I can find them is on eBay and they want an arm and a leg for one. I’d have to break six or seven aluminum ones for the cost of one steel one. Both diffs broke in the exact same spot by the third member mount that bolts in to the crossmember. I think this time I’m going to go ahead and find another aluminum diff at my local pick a part for $50 and fabricate A rubber isolated Mount out of a stainless exhaust clamp that wraps around the third member and ties into the crossmember. The idea is to prevent The third member from twisting its self apart.
Thanks for the video its awsome! If its possible tell me the name of the spacer i cant find it anywhere or a link. I can not even find it on ebay.

I have a 1995 geo tracker 5 speed manual, can I use my original gear and pinion from aluminum housing to steel housing?

Where do you get a nylon bushing?
Hiya what's the nylon bush called as I can't find the kit anywhere?? Thanks for the video 👍
That’s a really good idea with the puppy pad to catch all of that oil!
Where can I find a parts list with part numbers for this video

If I use welding to repair, do I need to buy the manual wheel locks on my Tracker 04? Or can you use the originals?

Great video, but i can't find spring spacer anywhere, could you please tell me what can i use instead?
Thanks... Question, any chance you can take the Aluminum 3rd member and marry it to the steal pumpkin ?

Can you explain the nylon bushing a bit more at

Has anyone used zip ties for this repair on Tracker or Grand Vitara 99-04?
