Hawkman was good! They didn't make it a main point that they cast a black actor, Brosnan was great as dr fate. The rock was good. And atomsmasher was hilarious.

Its one of those films where a lot happens and none of it really matters.
This best sums up a long rant I posted about this movie. I walked out of the movie theatre pissed.
Calling Dr. Fate a âdollar store Dr. Strangeâ is mind blowing smh
its true tho.
Itâs no fault against Dr Fate himself either more so on WB and their incompetence. They couldnât handle that they were late to the party creating a cinematic universe so they tried to rush in and half ass it, had a lot of bombs, some adequate stuff but not enough to make a lasting impact and now weâre here. A character like Dr Fate on par and possibly surpassing the might and feats of Dr Strange comics-wise and also depending which continuity youâre looking at is referred to as dollar store version to Dr Strange. Very sad
As a DC fan that statement felt like a wet slap in the face :(

Sabbac isnt the main villan, the justice society is. Without fully understanding the situation or even collateral damage they start fighting. No talking or even mentioning to leave the highly populated areas, just bidness. After countless homes cars and monuments are destroyed do they even attempt peace talks! Every thing is a nail to a hammer, hawkman even says that he and fate are the hammer! Best part to me is the mission accomplished bit hawkman say to dr fate. Maybe im looking into this too much but thatâs exactly what bush has flying on their banners for the iraq war⊠it seems like justice society is a metaphor for the us govt being a global peace force that doesnât attempt peace talks at all. Loved this movie even with its cheesey bits. That superman ending was a huge let down now knowing cavill wonât be returning.

Black Adam doesn't seem to be as memorable or as enjoyable a movie as Aquaman. But if Henry Cavill is in it as Superman & we get that big Superman vs Black Adam showdown than I'm watching it hands down.

I didn't really care about Black Adam going into the movie I really cared about Dr.fate and he really didn't disappoint
I was most excited to see dr fate and hawkman and they didnât disappoint, the rock was better than I expected, Iâm satisfied with him as black Adam. Atom smasher and cyclone were both likable and I want to see more of them. Overall I liked the movie and it left me wanting more black Adam and more JSA.
I love how he just opens so happy and excited and the other two are just sulking looking like they hate it lol.

It appears that Johnsonâs only preparation for this role was to train and condition non stop. Of course he didnât try an accent he cared more about looking good in the suit. Which begs to question how long he will be able to keep that physique up for the future as he really is near the end of sustaining this

I feel the same, kinda. There are a lot of movies I don't even care to see much anymore. The movies I do tend to like though usually get trounced by reviews so it's whatever honestly.
Feels like people have gotten too used to TV shows that can spill a bunch of information and character development across dozens of episodes. Any movie thats just fun action like back in the days Iâll support wholeheartedly because a lot of stuff tends to try to be super serious or too political which can work if it has a deeper meaning and isnt the entire soul of the movie.
Nah these dudes are just tripping. It really wasn't bad. Now Venom on the other hand, that's bad.

Good story with some artistic passion like in the 70s and before but with spectacle action like from the 80s. But then have realism and grit like the 90s, but also have some plastic comedy like from the 2000s. And the CGI amazement from the 2010s. So like a good movie that knows what it is, and does it well.
I feel like OJ and Alex don't like anything anymore. I almost never hear them say anything positive.
I had a damn good time with this movie. It felt like a DC animated movie brought to life. Needed a little bit more story, but the action was so damn badass and entertaining... and the movie was 90% action lol

I have to make a small note though - the song "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones used at that action scene early on was not slowed down by any measure...it was definitely played at the normal speed during the scene. As such I'm confused by that point of criticism, excepting that the scene samples the verses mostly - which are performed (as intended) at a slower tempo; maybe that caused your confusion?
Im not sure why they always say its been CGI too much, what do you expect, its a superhero movie.

He isn't movie maker (not that he needs to be) , but the way he talks like he is one, and when stuff isnt done the way he would like/done is all bad? He isnt always wrong but not sure hes the best source of reviews. He incredibly many times presents his "opinions" as a facts, and when someone would like X scene he think is bad, he calls you with names because you like something he doesnt. To me that does not sound like an "opinion".

I'm a long time viewer who has recently returned to watching your videos from a long hiatus. I've got to tell you, in this video, as well as a few other recent ones (BF 2042, COD Vanguard, Saints Row), Alex nails it with every criticism he has and knows what it's going to take to get this swill we call entertainment back up to snuff.
Alex is right, what's the point of getting excited for the setup if the level of writing is going to be mediocre at best? I'd rather have them cancel these projects over ruining legendary characters any further.
I canât believe the rock and the audacity to say pierce brosnan was the only actor who could play Dr fate/he was the only fate while knowing he killed off the character after existing in live action for all of 7 minutes and barely doing anything and not only that they nerfed the shit out of him and turned him into a glorified fortune teller rather than MOTHERFUCKIN DR FATE. He dies to an obscure, d lister, Shazam villain and they have state with whole chest that heâs weaker than black Adam in the film đ€š

I genuinely thought you were doing a bit where you were just pretending to cut him off so abruptly, say you were jk and let him finish his thought but it wasnât that at all.

I suddenly realized after watching this movie that Dwayne Johnson is the biggest movie star in the world, yet every movie he has ever starred in is a C+ at best for me.
That's what happens when the majority of roles you take are budget action movies.
Yeah, but that is no excuse. Arnold had Terminator 2 and Predator. Stallone has Rocky and Rambo at the very least. Willis has Die Hard. Dwayne is incredibly mediocre. And this is from a 40 year old who loves pro wrestling.

I went in wanting just for a fun film. I had a good time. 7 out of 10 is good enough for me. I don't need every super hero movie to be this ground breaking, ceiling shattering, think piece about deeper meaning and our current society. I want to see superpowered beings fight each other like Gods as normal people watch on and I got that. No political messaging, no woke nonsense, no race/gender/religion swap, just good old fun. I'm happy.
It's weird, I find alot of comfort and nostalgia from watching the AngryJoeShow. I guess it's from watching you for 10 years now, I always seem to feel more relaxed than usual watching/listening to your content. Thanks Joe and thanks to OJ and Alex!

Not a another team up movie
MAN he was such a chad throughout. Some of his dialogue were pretty bad, but his fight scenes and Aldis' presence managed to tip the scales for me. Hope his series gets greenlit.

Literally was dope. I think they fucked doctor fate up a lil bit but Atom Smasher, cyclone, and Hawkman in the comics are fucking lame. So good on them for making them remotely interesting
This movie feels like patches of footages from every comicbook movie/TV show ever made being stitched together to create a fascinating mess, possibly the most generic, run-of-the-mill DC movie that checklists all the cliche tropes. It's also insane the audiences are willing to watch the same old tired materials over and over again and still give it a 90% RT score, Nickelback-style.
It was good, it's not going to reshape the way super hero movies are done but it was way better than Wonder Woman 84. Happy for Joe knowing his previous predictions.

Interesting take, a father trying to live up to his son's legacy, usually its the other way around.
Was really weird seeing Black Adam doing catchphrases, jokes and smiling. Guess it was waaay too much to ask for Dwayne to play an actual villain and just HAD to play the hero. Doesn't even lead his people, wtf??
23:26 That scene with the bike "jet" is exactly as shown in the movie, they just editted to make it looks like he rams it and it blows up however what happened was he jumped on it, flung guy forward ahead then rammed the jet into that guy while flying through explosion

In the comics, it wasn't really his son who gave him his powers. It was his nephew named Adan who we thought was Black Adam the whole time. Another thing is that the original Shazam shouldn't lose his powers after sharing the powers with family. Black Adam's family was killed by the slavers to begin with. He has this hatred for anyone who oppresses the weak and he sees his nephew as someone who could stop him from doing justice his way. Then this moment came that his nephew was grateful for his uncle (still unnamed) where they hugged and Adan said, "Thank you, Uncle Adam," (a fuckin' plot twist!) and that was the moment Black Adam killed his nephew. I liked the movie but I would have wanted them to be as dark as the comics.

I will give the film this, I really like how they show the peoples connection/reaction to their hero.
One of my big issues with modern superhero movies is its all about the heroes and not the people they are meant to save. I love that corney Reeves Superman, Raimi Spider-Man style where they citizens and the city are a basically their own characters in the movie.
And it's a nice twist on things to see them celebrate his brutality on the people who have oppressed them.

It didn't seem to me that Paint It Black was slowed down in the movie. I watched it on HBO Max though. Maybe they fixed it.

The original *is* that slow, and ominous, like "Sympathy for the Devil" is.

Did anyone notice that they were going for a John Connor and T2 dynamic with Adam and Amon? It didn't land though. The whole catchphrase thing felt forced while in T2 it felt perfectly done
It has an 89% on rotten tomatoes from the fans so it's probably going to be really successful at the box office.

@@kaanfreakin5429 tracking was around 60 million. But remember opening weekend is not the end all be all. For instance, Aquaman made only 50 million opening weekend domestically and then went on to make over a billion dollars at the box office.

This movie felt like they filmed a 6 episode miniseries and then cut all that content into a movie.
The best part of the movie was that it was simply a super hero movie and that's why I loved it! I feel since end game everything else doesn't feel like that anymore. Everything is so political or hold some type of agenda. This was simply good guy rising to the top vs bad guy, the end and I loved it because we steered so far from that!

I would give it a a 4 out of 10
4/10 it didnât need to exist because there was no plot, story, or purpose and there were so many plot holes and plot contrivencies
Having Henry back as Superman is the Hail Mary play from DC! Fingers crossed for the future
I mean amongst all the shit in the DCEU, Henry Cavill and Man of Steel are the saving grace. They'd be fools not to have him back

I have to thank Angry Joe for his enthusiasm and positive thoughts, angry crew checking-in in support of DC and superman
I enjoyed the film and some of things they did felt pretty good. I enjoyed the twist of who Teth Adam actually was, I felt that each of the heroes were interesting and I enjoyed how they weren't afraid of killing enemies (which is true to the character btw). I felt that Dr. Fate should have had more build up in the movie, cause he really didn't do much until the last act, so it kinda just felt like it happens out of the blue. Overall it feels like 7.5/10 for me about as good as Shang Chi in my opinion.
shang shi was a well written movie with a simple plot and good cgi and action this was a tone deaf cliche filled segemented writing cartoon in real life
@@davien1565 Shang Chi is not really that great, it's basically a REALLY watered down version of the East Asian fantasy genre shows and if you've seen the actual East Asian fantasy genre.. Shang Chi doesn't hold a candle to them.
When I saw Black Adam I felt like it was put together better all the way through than Shazam, and people really liked Shazam for some reason, I thought it was ok.. last half of the movie not that good to me. I thought Black Adam was enjoyable all the way through, the dumb parts didn't drag on at least.

Think they all balance out a bit. Alex tries to be more realistic while Joe is over the top fanboyish/emotional. Other Joe is like right in the middle of those two lol
