I remember a time when I would've gone to see every superhero movie. But lately... I dunno it feels like a party that started on Friday night, raged on into Saturday with it still being fun, then into the early morning hours of Sunday, but it's still going and it's at that point where people are starting to go home but the host is still trying to keep it going.

@@redfive6020 nah itâs more MCU fatigue. I literally just rewatched MOS, BvS and ZSJL back to back past weekend and they were glorious. Shazam 2 like most of the movies that have been coming out lately are all the same following a cookie cutter formula. People are just growing tired of that specific superhero iteration.
@@sr7olsniper The most recent superhero movie that the majority of people loved was No Way Home just a little over a year ago. The Batman was also received well, but didn't exclusively stay long in theaters.

BvS was so incredibly contrived from Batman finding a random Mcguffin on the back of a Parademon to Hipster Lex Luther making personalized symbols for Superheroes who never had symbols in universe.

I always saw Billyâs personality vs Shazamâs personality was very similar to Peter Parker being Spider-man. Many times it was the Spider-Man that gave Peter the confidence he needed to be his true self.

They could have used Black Adam to whip Shazamâs ass cause Shazam doesnât really know how to fully use his powers yet and then out of nowhere Superman swoops in and knocks the shit out of Black Adam. And that gives the audience along with Shazam a second to go full fan boy mode witnessing the glory of Superman coming to defend his little brother. Supes tells Shazam to stand back, Black Adam gets up and he is seriously pissed and that sets up a boss battle. Thatâs the way I saw Superman vs Black Adam boss fight happening when The Rock signed on as Black Adam.

Before i begin listening to Angry Joe, i always stare right at Alex to gauge what type of mood he is in. Angry Joe doesnt need to say anything and just point the camera at Alex. That's more than enough to know if the film is good or bad!

Heâs a decent reviewer but he comes off as smug sometimes and doesnât have the same energy and passion that Joe and OJ have in my opinion. He even says in the Q&Aâs how burnt how he is getting from making reviews.

The Cinemas I was in, the "I'm gay" line literally took everyone in the cinema off guard. I was like "wtf that was random" lmao, I know it was indicating to us that yes he is gay, but that part literally took us/everyone off guard
The AJS team has been on ROLL lately. I find I agree with OJ the most when I think of my personal review scores. They didnât talk as much as AJ (nothing wrong with that, heâs awesome and why Iâm here), but lately weâre hearing more and theyâre sharing the stage and the dynamic is cool. Iâm tuning into every episode now just to listen even if I donât watch the movie/show (like Picard)

Iâve seen every film from DC & Marvel recently & I can confidently say the critics & CZcamsrs have been correct & fans have been accepting mediocrity like Shazam 2 or garbage like Thor Love And Thunder. -Too many actors and actresses
-Too many villains
-2 villains would have been ok.
-Make the one villain that has love interest, maybe make her at the very end of the movie a hero along with Shazam, to show her love for Freddy and the humans.
-Please fix your cgi itâs bad
-Iâm ok with all the brothers and sisters, I kind of wish we got different scenes with them instead of just Freddy. So we can feel for each character more.
-I agree with Joe the unicorn and bad creatures were just pointless. Just take it out and Instead of the bad creatures why not use that power from the villain that talks into peoples ears and make them zombies. That would of have been better. Then wants she is dead at the end, then all the humans go back to normal.
-It would have been cool if Wonder Woman was fighting in the city against the bad creatures. Instead of just some boring cameos here and there.
-I know you canât use Cavil for a Superman cameo, but at least tease it here and there. You donât have to show is face, but quick videos from peoples cell phones and maybe a poster here or a news headline talking about Superman.
-At least I really thought you killed off Shazam. But this is a kids movie, so of course he comes back, but maybe it would have been better a different direction. Like let him die then in the next movie, have a god bring him back like the rock/black Adam. Just a thought.

So with these improvements yes the movie would have been better. We could of gotten a good movie and my rating would have been higher. Do I recommend people watching this movie, I say yes, itâs still a good movie and youâll enjoy it, just donât come in expecting an Avengers movie, which is mentioned in the post credit scene. Seems like they took the flashpoint Shazam kids, but instead of forming a single hero, they're just individuals.

SPOILER Most of the Shazam family loses their powers for like 85% of the movie so he kind of is the sole hero for most of the film
What annoyed me most is that as they showed in the first movie each family member should have a power of Shazam and yet they all suddenly could fly, all had speed, all had strength. Completely pointless.

When an angry review comes out for a TV show or a movie I always look at Alex's face as his facial expressions tell everything he wants to say. I can see we are in for a truly angry review here.
Idk, to me, Alex's expressions, if he's not using his hands, is trying to read tarot cards in the dark. Can't get a read on the guy. He always looks like, you stepped on my foot and didn't say sorry.

With all those bad superhero movies in the last years i have to say my favorite superhero movies have become the Godzilla movies.

Great review. I think it's time to move on from all of these superhero movies. We had a peak at avengers endgame and the batman. Good to see Creed 3, Scream doing well. And really looking forward to John Wick chapter 4.

Shazam & Black Adam didn't really need each other in my opinion because they were origin stories. However, this movie definitely needed Black Adam. One of the end credits connected the films, but the villains in this movie didn't connect.
I like how Shazam's costume moved in line with Black Adam's, but I actually prefer the big cape. Interesting to see how they handle Shazam going forward. I actually disagree with how they're handling Billy/Shazam. They still feel like two entirely different characters.

I had fun with the movie. I cant explain it but the lighthearted nature and the family aspect hit it for me. I didnt go in thinking I'd watch a serious blockbuster and i had a good time. I liked "taste the rainbow". Perfect for kids and anyone wanting a lighthearted movie

Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford are incredible in 1923 Yellowstone thing. She is still a great actress it just shows even with talent if the writing is dogshit you can't do anything.

That's what I've always felt has been a big issue with the DCEU is that they throw so many characters into 1 movie and the audience has very little time with each character and ends up not really caring about any of them
As someone that enjoyed the first one id put this on roughly the same level, maybe a little less. Id give it a 6 personally but one id be fine watching again. The 2 skittles parts and the very last scene are the only parts i really didnt like

It was super fun. Heartfelt, funny, with a coherent (if absurd) storyline. Yeah, it's predictable and silly at times, but I had a much better time with it than the last few marvel flicks.

I agree with you. Its not as bad as discussed in this video.
I think the core of the Shazam storyline , kids who get superpowers and struggle with adult things like responsibility, sacrifice,etc, is preserved in the movie.
That being said the story of the movie seems like it was written by a child. The cringe worthy elements, plot conveniences and predictably cliche story are really hard to ignore.
If you like the childish nature of Shazam you would find this movie alright.
If you like any other aspect of the original you will probably find the movie boring.

You know I've noticed that movies recently have just not been that great but TV shows have been amazing. I hope better films come out soon. Last movie was 65 and was disappointed. Scream 6 was solid but let down near the end. Keeping fingers crossed

Took our friends kids to watch it as they were the only ones that really wanted to see it. I fell asleep during it
I enjoyed the film tbh. I thought it was good fun. Definitely has its flaws, but I didn't find myself taking it so seriously to the point where I was trying to spot the flaws. I just went along for the ride and found it funny and had the right amount of emotion. Villains were bland but I'm used to that now with most superhero stuff.

Anyone else notice a lot of superhero movies have a bridge scene? Hell, I think there's been a bridge scene in 1 movie out of each of the 3 versions of Spider-Man. I think there's a bridge scene in the original punisher there's a bridge scene in X3. There's more I'm sure.

I didn't watch it within the context of what the DCEU at large will become. I watched it as its own thing. Loved it. It was an improvement in every way to the first, and when we talk about sequels, that's really the only bar they need to clear. To be better. And since the first one was enjoyable, anyone who found themselves liking the first should have no issue with this one.

Guys, there's nothing wrong with adjusting your initial movie ratings. It's difficult to score a movie especially immediately after you watch it because emotions are running high.
