Hi Emma! I just wanted to tell you, you've helped bring me and my older sister together. We've always been very different, but had the one thing in common: The love of horror. Suddenly we found out that we both watch your videos. Now it's tradition to get together to watch them. I Just wanted to say thank you. I really missed her.

I unabashedly adore Book of Shadows, it's got some really smart ideas/concepts.
There's an excellent fan edit that reorders the film (all the police interview flashes are now part of a linear ending).
It also removes a bunch of stuff Berlinger was forced to put in (like the gore and Manson playing over the opening credits).
It also cemented in my head that Josh was possessed by the Blair Witch in the first film, and is responsible for killing Heather and Mike a la Rustin Parr.

The new Godzilla films would be great if only 90min, less humans, more monsters. I have to skip around when I rewatch them. Great monster scenes, but all the human stuff mostly boring & silly. Best human character in GvK is the little girl, she was awesome imo. Love your channel! Thanks for all the recommendations.

Would LOVE a video on "Jennifer's Body", I haven't seen it in like 10 years myself, and I'm really curious why it's having such a resurgence at the moment. TOTALLY with you on the final scene of "Suspiria", it felt like they just wanted to go crazy with no actual reason for it other than shock factor. "Keane" sounds like something I need to watch. Just marathon watched Them in two days and I liked it. It stays with you. It reminded me of The Shining, and other Stephen King horrors. The demons of their past become literal demons in the present. That whole collective trauma theme was so moving and thought provoking. They really packed a lot in there. Maybe almost too much at times (?), but I never lost interest. I did have to remind myself a couple of times that it was playing with allegory and metaphor to stop from rolling my eyes at a couple of scenes, but overall it was really good. The tap-dance man character reminded me of pennywise from the IT books. It just really hit the nail on the head for portraying collective and intergenerational trauma in an interesting, captivating way. It was also a bit like His House, as it has that gradual reveal of where these hauntings originate. It just had that “feel” of dread and suffocation to it. Anyway, I’m not a writer or reviewer, but I liked this one. 👍
Oh, and I hated Honeydew. I tried to like it. I think the soundtrack was what pushed it over the edge. The story didn’t seem original to me. Meh, I can’t stand Lena Dunham. Sorry if anyone’s an LD fan, but she irritates me and if I’d known she was in it, I probably wouldn’t have watched it.

Now I can see people who watch the show do tend to be polarized about the main character because she isn't the best person but i did like her as a well rounded character and Gabrielle Union gave a pretty good performance. Also with Them, i didn't watch it but i did see discussion about the show and how quite alot of Black people (not all of course cause Black people like everybody else aren't a monolith) felt like the show was trauma porn and how tired they were of whenever a movie or TV show is centered on a Black person that their story is about their trauma (Lena Waithe also got dragged on Twitter cause of her involvement with the show cause she has written similar material) and how they don't want to see triggering material about the trauma and pain they face as Black people in the world (especially in the US)

Did you get a chance to see either Gaia or In the Earth? Both are supremely weird and I’m just not sure where I stand with them.

@@Screenfunfacts yee she was good especially in the first season, also considering how young she was. But I'm not a fan either

Out of Book of Shadows and Jennifer's Body, I'd be much more interested in hearing a video on Blair Witch 2. Especially over the last 6 months to a year, Jennifer's Body has been receiving all of this talk. Meanwhile, I don't recall seeing any positive Blair Witch 2 videos. I only saw Book of Shadows the once when I rented the VHS, but I didn't care for it. Hearing some positive reviews could push me into giving the film another chance.

sweet old lady is a demon in disguise
    The plot makes no sense

"Aliens" is a requirement for anybody who wants to call themselves a horror fan. Right up there with The Shining, The Fly, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc.
