I loved Yellowjackets! I think the cast is amazing the younger actresses really make me think they are the younger versions of the older cast! I love the mystery!
For me, viewing Christina Ricci and Juliette Lewis on screen is a treat. :) It feels like I seldom do presently. Thank you for the recommendations! I always find them helpful.
I would love to see a most anticipated video, especially with movies like X, The Black Phone, and Nope coming out, would love to hear your thoughts
Watching Yellowjackets prompted a rewatch of Heavenly Creatures. Love that film so much and love Melanie Lynskey!
Obsessed with Yellowjackets! Just binged watched the season on my 2 days off. I’m 37, so it was an extra treat to see my fav actresses & my generations music combined. Can’t wait for season 2… and yes Christina Ricci is amazing! The woman who plays her in the past is pretty fantastic as well.
I can't tell you how happy I am to see Yellowjackets finally being noticed! When I first saw the trailer I looked everywhere for content and no one knew what it was. Now it's everywhere and I'm so giddy!!
Loving ‘Yellowjackets’ so far (no surprise there), and Melanie Lynskey is always a treat, and is no exception here.
Thanks for the January recap, Emma. I remember seeing "The Pledge" (2001) when it came out in theatres with my dad (huge Jack Nicholson fan). From what I recall, it was a very different "crime thriller" and the fact that Nicholson's character would never get to the truth because the culprit died in an unrelated auto accident. In the end, I felt it was a moral lesson into not making a promise that you cannot keep. It will only lead to ruin.
Here is my list of horrors and thrillers I saw for January:
RAIGA: THE MONSTER FROM THE DEEP SEA (2009) - score 3/10
RETURN TO HORROR HIGH (1987) - score 3/10 (this old slasher/comedy doesn't age well)
SAINT MAUD (2019) - score 4/10
TEENAGE ZOMBIES (1959) - score 2/10
FRANKENSTEIN ISLAND (1981) - score 3/10
NIGHTMARE ALLEY (2021) - score 7/10
KING KONG (1933) - score 10/10
THE DEADLY MANTIS (1957) - score 7/10
THE SCARY OF SIXTY-FIRST (2021) - score 2/10 (very disturbing for me)
SON OF KONG (1933) - score 8/10
THE LAND UNKNOWN (1957) - score 5/10
MARK OF THE WITCH (1970) - score 4/10
SCREAM (2022) - score 7/10 (weakest of the Scream films)
GOD RAIGA VS. KING OHGA (2021) - score 2/10 (talk about a no-budget rip-off on Godzilla Vs. Kong)
THE NIGHT HOUSE (2020) - score 6/10
THIS GAME'S CALLED MURDER (2021) - score 3/10
DRACULA (1974) - score 7/10 (TV movie version with Jack Palance)
THE MOLE PEOPLE (1956) - score 5/10
A PAGE OF MADNESS (1926) - score 5/10
HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION (2002) - score 4/10 (the Halloween sequel no-one wanted)
THE PSYCHOPATH (1966) - score 7/10 (good start, but becomes predictable in the second half)
I’m not much of a binge watcher but I just watched all of Search Party in only a few days and it’s such a wild ride! I was hoping you’d talk about season 5 in this and I’m so glad you did. Thanks for another great video!
czcams.com/video/NdvO0tmNjGo/video.html
omg i know what you mean with "The Pledge" but i have that with "The Girl with All the Gifts", ive watched it 3 times too but i keep on forgetting ive watched it and cant remember a single thing from it
Hahaha
The way I've been WAITING for you to talk about Yellowjackets tho....so guuud
Emma you are the only person who gives me great horror movies thanks to you 👍
Satanic Panic is great! Yellowjackets is def on my watchlist, looking forward to watching it. Great video Emma!
Yellowjackets sounds so good! I hope I get a chance to see it soon, I'm definitely getting through a lot of TV at the moment so it would be perfect timing 😂 I still need to do a Scream rewatch, hopefully it won't be ages before the new one becomes available on streaming. So many rewatches for you this month, I'm into it! I can see myself doing that a bit more this year for comfort viewing
Thanks for your honesty... I see you from Argentina and I think the same thing: " Nocturna " is not a good movie... Maybe you'll enjoy " Aterrados " more, a horror movie directed by Demián Rugna. Greetings.
I’ve seen that one! I reviewed it I believe! Great film
Yellowjackets and Search Party are definitely two of my all time favorites ❤️🔥
I am so excited to start watching Yellowjackets! Loved Search Party !! I've been watching so many of your recommendation videos and have not been disappointed once!! Thank you for this ❤️
Low key happy belated birthday and thanks for all the cool videos over the past few years.
i wonder if you could make a top recommended list at the end of your letterboxed videos. as a summary of what you liked the best this month would be a good addiction. love your content as always
Read for yellow jackets this morning. I thought sounds interesting especially with the strong cast .Will definitely be having a look on your recommendation. Thanks
I binged through all five seasons of Search Party this month and it was fantastic. A few episodes in and I was hooked. What an ending!
Glad to hear the praise for Underwater! I enjoyed that film quite a lot and it went relatively unnoticed throughout its release window.
I See You was wild! Definitely excited to check out Yellowjackets
Happy belated birthday! ♒️🏺
I LOVED Yellowjackets. I saw a handful of tweets about it before the last two episodes were out and binged it all in a day I cannot wait for season two.
Emma, you’re killing it! As a fan who’s been watching all your videos for many years, I’m so proud of you and all your success so far with your Channel. I have no doubt it’s just going to get better and better. You’re an inspiration!
Thank you Luke!
Great stuff, I’m going to have to check out Yellowjackets. Keep the content coming!

The Changeling is so good!
Definitely gonna watch yellow jacket and good to see Emma obsessed with Scream franchise ♡
I fast forward to the movies then rewind to the TV shows! ( Love hearing about what Movies your have watched) 😊
My highlight was watching you talk to Rory Caulkin!!!!!! He's my favorite🖤
Congrats on the sponsorship!🤟 and now to the video 😁
Thanks ! I’ve been working with them for two years! Love their product
This month was jam-packed with content. I need to catch up. I really enjoyed The Tragedy of Macbeth and The Power of the Dog. I watched them back to back and it made me see Macbeth as a comedy marketed as a tragedy, while I saw Power of the Dog as a horror film marketed as a drama. Looking forward to Servant, but that may have to wait until next month.
Happy Belated Birthday 🎂 🥳 🖤👍🏾
Nightmare Alley just came out in the U.K. too. Really enjoyed it. The ending seemed like one sick punchline. Outstanding
I do the 3 episode test, too!!!
Great list, Emma! I saw "The Pledge" when it came out and have never forgotten it. It was one of my favorite films of 2001. And as a fan of Sean Baker, I'm really looking forward to "Red Rocket." Side note - I watched "Nitram" last night. Caleb Landry Jones deserves an Oscar nomination. But the entire cast is flawless. A terrifying and sad movie.
Yeah nitram was in my top non horror of 2021 ! Very intense movie
I can't wait until the 2nd season of Yelow Jackets!!
I finished Black Earth Rising today. Pretty good miniseries
Emma -- you are one of the few CZcams channels to give the incredible Search Party as much attention as you do! (I'd love to see a video of you breaking down the show, season by season!) Don't feel guilty for watching Floribama Shore, it is great trashy Reality TV!
Yellow jackets is so good. Love the ladies and the younger counterparts are amazing actors. 💙Misty.
yellowjackets was so good!
Hi Emma, if you fancy a stark contrast to your Florida viewing then try Isolation, set on an Irish dairy farm... 😶😶😶
🤘
I love your lipstick! what brand and color is it? thank you for the inspirational video!
I loved Yellowjackets! I hope there isn't a long wait for season 2. Viva the 90s!
your movie list is great! Id give the ones I've seen the same score. I always recommend people see underwater and I see you! off topic but what lipstick did you use? 😆
My family member saw underwater they said it was a terrible ripoff of the classic movie alien from 1979😈
I don’t think it’s anything like Alien Mike.
Emma yellow jackets tv show was so good
Watching The Love Witch now…but had to share in your shame in Floribama Shore. I’m originally from Alabama and I promise we’re not all train wrecks. Amy is my spirit animal though!🤣
Hahaha Amy is so funny
❤️❤️❤️
Yellow jackets was sooo good. I can’t wait for season 2
Glad you enjoyed House of Gucci!
Also great to see Underwater getting some love. Really wish more people had gone to see it in cinemas so it didn’t bomb as much as it did. A lot of people like to drag to it because of their dislike of Kristen Stewart.
Fun Fact: The actress Jasmin Savoy Brown who portrayed the character Taissa in Yellowjackets was also in Scream(2022) as one of the twin.. Could you watch please please watch the TV series "Yellowstone" which is very popular!!!
Hey Emma, I noticed as you started to go over what movies you watched for January; I noticed there was a movie at the end of your December watch list that you never discussed. It was called the pizza gate massacre. You rated it 3 stars so I was wondering if it was worth a watch??
I see you was a trip. And your accent is adorable.
Definitely watching yellow jacket
Floribama is actually a bar on the state line where alabama meets florida. I know this because i live in alabama and have been there. But yes floribama shore is my giulty pleasure too
The Pledge is a like a "remake" of The cold light of day, an amazing movie with Richard Grant. And it's much better. I really recommend it. The first version it's call "It happened In broadlight day", It's a German movie of 1958.
Hi, loved this video. What app is the one u put the movie list? Looks amazing
Letterboxd :)
**NSYNC starts* 😂 great vid Emma!
Sooo good
Flora Bama. I live a couple hours away and by watching this you will never get those brain cells back 😂😂😂👌🏼❤️
I think I See You is one I'm going to like. And I do need to get to Yellowjackets, everyone is going crazy for that and it's been completely off of my radar.
Floribama Shore is awful but entertaining; my husband and I lived in PCB when they were filming and we had them banned before they could even come into our bar 😂
The Pledge is remake of Es geschah am hellichten Tag (It Happened in Broad Daylight; 1958), original is better, ending is different and makes more sense.
Ohhh good to know thank you!!!!
The point of The Pledge is the idea of "closure." In his obsession Jack Nicholson's character uses his girlfriend's daughter as bait to catch the killer. It would have worked but the killer got himself killed in an accident on the way to the meeting, burnt beyond recognition. We know Jack inadvertently honored his pledge, but he doesn't know it, and never will. All the girlfriend sees is her daughter being put in a dangerous situation by someone who seems to be losing his mind. Based on a novel by Friedrich Dürrenmatt.
I enjoyed your list, looking for a great horror film on Netflix. Have you catches the new season of Ozark?
Haven’t watched it yet but I will!
What did you think of THE WOMAN on Shudder??? I love it.
I am probably in the minority here but my girlfriend and I really didn't like Yellowjackets that much. We found a lot of the characters to be unlikable and we kept waiting for more things to happen. Maybe we were too impatient. Christina Ricci is the best part of the show in my opinion. Love her in it. She does a great job as Misty. Don't think we will continue with it though!
Just watched satanic panic a couple weeks ago and it was better than I expected. I managed to see we summon the darkness without watching any trailers which I think made a big difference. Rarely watch anything without seeing the trailer but I'm glad I didn't for that one.
🖤
My guilty pleasure is Floribama Shore, Geordie Shore, Jersey Shore and everything like that I'm not gonna lie I LOVE reality TV! Gus is proper annoying though I feel 🤣
Omg Gus is the worst!! Did you see the Twitter scandal?! Wtf
@@spookyastronauts OMG NO! I didn't see that! What happened?! He proper ruins the show like what was with him running away like that?! Amy and Codi are my favorites too! I'm so glad someone else who is a huge horror fan has this guilty pleasure like me 😂
Any thoughts on Hatching?
Haven’t seen it yet but I’ve requested a screener, is it out?
I liked Yellowjackets, but have mixed feelings on it being written with [at least] two seasons in mind. Yay there's more to come. But annoyed that the 'bad things' that were teased through the entire season don't get revealed (beyond the teaser at the very start).
I didn’t mind that to be honest, I know it’s not a satisfying ending but that’s how tv shows used to be. I like diving into that structure every now and again
It's actually 5 seasons in mind, not two
I think another reason people seriously disliked house of gucci is because how absolutely LONG it is with not as much pay off as you’d want for the length. I liked it but the pacing felt like a turtle ya know. But hey I love looking at lady gaga so it was fine. I can’t wait to check out yellowjackets I’ve been hearing amazing things
I will check out search party tv show HBO max
off horror subject, I recommend you to watch Ozark, I think you will really like it, one of the best TV shows on Netflix if not the best
I’ve seen it :) just not the new season yet
Lords of Chaos
Your theme tune is HAL 9000 burping?
Lots of people think that but it’s not
Great 😈
I really liked Yellow Jackets too. My buddy gave me shit for liking it but whatever. The music was top notch!
Sandra Bullocks film is based on a British Tv Series that is even better than the film. Suranne Jones played it better too. So if you like the film remake watch the original
You should watch Old Boy.
Of course I have! One of my favourites
@@spookyastronauts So happy to hear it. Underrated in my opinion.
what app does she use that shows the list of the movies ?
Letterbox
letterboxd
Have you watched WE ARE ALL DEAD?
Scream 5-BEST
The Fallout
The 355
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild
Home Team
Redeeming Love-WORST
I actually saw Underwater. I was not a fan of it. If you have ever seen The Core, you would see that there are so many similarities between that film and Underwater.
As an Australian, are you a fan of the show 'Lost'?
Nope not a huge fan
@@spookyastronauts really? it's similar to Yellowjackets
I’ve seen it haha it was ok.
The Pledge is a mediocre movie that even Jack Nicholson can’t save. I understand why you forgot you saw it. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the original 1947’s Nightmare Alley. Tyrone Power kills it in the film.
I be Damned I never noticed how cute your are.. you look very good in this video.
Search Party might be the most disappointing thing I’ve ever watched. The first few seasons were good but it started to get so ridiculous I didn’t want to finish it. I refused to watch the last two episodes and just looked it up and I’m glad
Thank you for making great videos all the time I always find something interesting to watch. But I really hated the house of gucci. Just a really bad movie, even though lady gaga was the best part…
I'm sorry but the unforgivable was so predictable
Does your husband like the horror genre 2
Don’t have a husband 🙃
Oh ok does your wife or girlfriend like the horror genre as much as you do
This is coming from someone who doesn't like Red Rocket and has similiar traumas portrayed in the movie but Sean Baker is so obsessed with "Poor People Porn" He's a born rich kid that went to NYU and has never struggled with anything he portrays. It feels like he thinks he's a savior of telling poor peoples story and I hate what he did with the strawberry character. The main character should've died at the end to make it more likable.
New Scream is woke garbage
