Thomas made jaw-dropping/-eye-popping/hair-raising saves in this playoffs. Holy shit.
Carey Price didn't suck either.

Definitely one of the best Bruins rosters ever. Every player did his part and did an amazing job. Man i miss this group.

@@user-eg5tu2qx7p Tim Thomas did what rask never did (because I’m optimistic this is his last season) which was WIN WHEN THE GAME IS THE BIGGEST! All those who sniff rask’s jock love to talk about how great he was, and yes in the regular season he’s usually very good, but the one thing you will see is the more important the games get the lower he performs. Just look at what his numbers are when his team faces elimination.....they tell you everything you need to know, when the lights are the brightest and the moments are the biggest he shits his pants. That’s what separated Thomas during the 2011 season....he won those game 7’s and those overtime games!
How about this year’s squad? It’s an absolute wagon.

Thomas was the difference maker for the bruins that cup run no doubt at all. If only he was younger at the time and stayed healthy would have been the clear number won and easily would have won another cup with him.

As of when it happened, maybe. But I think Game 7 of the ECF in 2011 was better. And Game 7 against Toronto last year in the quarterfinals.

game 7 against Tampa was arguably better in my opinion. No penalties, Stamkos broke his jaw and came back out. What a game that was. Happy we won, but pure hockey beauty.

@SaveByThomas me too. granted the save on downie was amazing, that was the most important moment of the playoffs. without that save, we lose game 5, lose momentum, and probably lose game 6, series over. that was absolutely pivotal for the bruins.

Ironic how Ryder made the series defining save lol.. Love the Habs and the Bruins... Respect both teams. But still think considering Price is a kid lol he will be the best in the league one day. Hope to see Thomas back.. but doubt it..

@evanfifield1 On top plays of the weekend neither the Ryder save or crazy Thomas save were on there. But yet, there was a play where a guy made a 3 pointer. ESPN just doesn't like hockey.

Loved Gill in boston, but he's a mid pairing stay at homer Lady Byng type. He's not a fighter, not even a little bit.
I should say that's not trying to take anything from gill. He's defensively sound and knows how to use his size in a hockey game. it's just that if you're counting on him to be your big body in an old school sense, that's not what you'll get. he just doesn't have the ability and instincts to be mean enough to play that game, which is why he's viewed with contempt in Boston -- they were hoping he would be what he can't be.

Yeah because a Save Percentage of .917 and a GAA of 2.59 is so terrible, the man is nearing 40 and ha dealt with injuries this season yet he's been solid, plus Tuuka Rak's numbers are nearly identical this season with a Save Percentage of .929 and an GAA .211 with one of the best Defensive cores in the league around him.
Because it's not like 3 years have gone by.

Wish they hadn’t ever let him go! The one guy I’ve been hoping they’d let go is still here unfortunately, but at least I’ve learned that when he plays in the playoffs we will NOT WIN! If he gets the start this year in the playoffs we will be out in the first round mark my words! He’s probably the most polarizing player I’ve seen in my 35 years on earth and watching the my B’s (I grew up in Boston about 7.5 miles from The Garden/Fleetcenter) for probably 28-30 of those years! I fall on the “hater” side even tho I don’t think it’s being a hater when you have evidence/proof to back it up. On the plus side Swayman looks like he’s ready to take over....and they should start NOW! Let him get his feet wet in the playoffs, I would much rather lose because a ROOKIE goaltender struggled in the playoffs because he hadn’t ever experienced it then to watch Teflon go out there yet again, get our hopes up, only to SHIT HIS PANTS AGAIN when it’s an elimination game for us!
