Both teams tried to choke it away but choking is so ingrained into the fabric of the Leafs organization that they wouldn't allow Boston to out-choke them.
I know right the Leafs are so predictable when Boston tied it up 1-1 in the third period almost right after Toronto made it 1-0 I knew the Leafs were going to lose when it went to overtime and they did. I actually believe that the Maple Leafs are cursed they probably won’t end up winning the Stanley cup for over 100 years. They won’t be winning it in my lifetime anyway.

Really a great moment filled with mutual respect and admiration. My team came out on top but I have to tip my cap to them leafs, they showed more grit and resilience than I was expecting.

can't believe leafs lost to such a weird way....im guessing Samsonov expected the puck to wrap around instead of bouncing back out to the middle of the ice? i wonder if it just took him by surprise and he wasn't able to react in time or did he expect the D-men to get to it first? it just seems like he froze and was caught off by the weird bounce. I wonder if he could have poke checked the puck? or is that too risky, it was such a bad bounce they got which led to the OT goal

Hedman and Josi also lack the quickness of play, but they have a High Hockey IQ that #44 doesn't have,
and they often find gaps in their opponents and outwit them.
This is a talent that an old, linear type like #44 cannot have for a lifetime.

As I said at the start of this series. If Leafs lose I’ll be surprised. If Bruins win I’ll be shocked. As a Bruins fan I am shocked. Shocked is good!
Expect to see major organizational house-cleaning in Leafs-Land starting next week, with a lot of players also being shipped out or bought out this summer.
The bottom line is that even if the Leafs managed to beat the Bruins in OT they would have been utterly destroyed by the Florida Panthers in the next round, so the team in its current form is simply not good enough to contend for the Stanley Cup anyway.
A partial rebuild is badly needed in Toronto.

This is why I stopped watching hockey 20 years ago. Seems like I haven't missed much in 20 years. You invest 82 games a year of your time. Then you go through the emotional rollercoaster that is the playoffs. And in typical fashion the leafs have performed as they always have. The money and time I've saved is astounding.
