My dad had been stationed on Clark, when I told him part of Clark had been turned into a race track and showed him the video of you racing around the track, my dad was so glad. Because most bases go to shit. Like the base on Crete Greece or here in the States.

I worked at a ford proving grounds back in 2002 .we tested those GT40 prototypes for corrosion. The yucca arizona site had a Nascar track on site that ford used to dial in their team cars for Vegas and Phoenix tracks. I got to drive the car on the track but was restricted to 55 mph .there was a overpass built over the track that blocks the camera view for 1/4 of the track. So putting around the track at 55 dropped it in 2nd from 5th and nailed it and was almost in a instant was doing 110 .very wild ride

you know you would probably really enjoy doing like a bike trip like you did in thailand that lasted multiple days and ended up having a tshirt design made at the end. there are a lot of really nice roads for bikes under 600cc and for the big bike counterparts. you would probably really enjoy that like doing a sagada (rice patties) tour cuz and up to baguio which is like much cooler weather. or check out the overlanding scene. lots of really nice 4x4s and a lot of clubs that wouldn't hesitate to have like a 3-5 day adventure for CB Media. I get it your channel is about the fast cars but you being from texas man i think you'd really enjoy the other side of the car culture here as well. anyways always have enjoyed your content

Are you really regretting leaving Thailand for the Philippines? The Phils is an awesome country. Less regulations as you've discovered, friendly people, and the typhoons never hang around for too long. So in a day or two it will be back to normal tropical heat and sun.
And get out to the islands if you can. I love the place.

IIRC in the US, Ferrari doesn’t even let you take Challenge cars home. You tell them what event you’re planning on participating and they haul your car to that track.

Nelson Racing's turbos are mirror image also. Beautiful. The white 488 is straight fire. Love 458s and 488s.

I'd take the Ford GT over anything in there. I have a Factory Five GTM and may end up building an RCR GTR. It's their '05-'06 Ford GT replica based off the Robertson's LeMans race car. You should check it out. Aluminum monocoque chassis and CNC suspension. It's better than the real Ford GT and lighter. It's basically their record setting SLC chassis in the Ford GT wheelbase and track. It comes as a roller and you add drivetrain and electrical, cooling, etc. About 60k for the kit but worth about 120k finished properly. It's great for taller guys too. Lots of interior room. You wouldn't fit in my GTM. I'm 5'7 and am close to the roof.
At my height (5.8"), I could drive a Ford GT all day long. But at my age (69), you'd have to cut the top off and drop me in it. The story of my life. When I finally got to the point where I could afford a new Corvette AND the insurance, I couldn't get IN the damn thing!

Ferrari Challenge cars are so rad. When I was a kid I saw the Ferrari Challenge 360, 430, and 458 challenge cars racing. The drivers were crashing into each other every race. Reminded me of the Fight Club quote, “I felt like destroying something beautiful.”

Damn , I wish I was there. My wife is on Manila for a couple days. Go to BGC and the Venician Mall. If you go to Pete's Place on the boardwalk and get a beer, watch the sunset in Passay City which is behind Mall of Asia
Bedliner on that car looks okay... if they get a urethane clear and spray it 20 minutes after the bedliner goes on - add some metal rainbow flake to the clear or pearl or whatever... it really spiffs up the bedliner look, and smooths it out a little. You will still chew up rags cleaning it off though. and because the bedliner is urethane and the clear is also urethane - they will bond together like paint would =D

I had no idea there were cars like that in the Philippines and to actually take a ride in that race car on the street in the wet... pretty wild. Clear evidence that money makes things happen. The young man taking you for a spin must be very well connected.
In south east asia money and connections give you way more room to "be rich" then in the western world..
His Dad is the owner of AutoPlus and he is a championship winning racecar driver here, been racing since he could walk. I should have mentioned that in the video haha
That's just how it is in Southeast Asia, a region with large contrasts. The poor are actually poor while the rich are obscenely rich, both coexist in the society.

Was the automatic lift system for curbs or was it for change in tires on the track cuz I know some of those challenge cars have a lift system built in for tire change on the track
Those are jacks that are made to lift the car off the ground to change wheels, this is just a suspension life system to raise the front of the car about 3 inches to get over speed bumps 👍🏻

Guess they have some pretty lax road laws in the Philippines. I doubt there are many other countries where a 488 GTB Challenge EVO would be allowed to be driven as a street car. Pretty badass tho, probably not gonna see another one on the road LOL.
