A zillion years ago before cable tv was widely available, ABC Sports had the coolest show called "ABC's Wide World of Sports". Lots of Americans learned about up and coming sports, like bodybuilding, billiards, professional daredevils, winter sports, just whatever really. Seeing this really gave that feeling. I lived in Korea for a year, I used to go to Korean Baseball League games. They were surreal for someone who grew up on American baseball. The fans are super polite, generally I'd only hear clapping. Not a lot of recreational shouting in Korea I think. They serve alcoholic beverages based on Soju (popular local liquor) in juice boxes, there's cheerleaders, the souvenirs were surprisingly affordable (I bought a LG Twins Jersey and Cap for like 30 bucks or something). I'm sure there's unknown fun everywhere.
