Amazing to see these guys racing 150cc bikes. I Drag Raced bikes in the states for many years. My last Pro Bike was a 1327cc Kawasaki so these guys are really doing it on a MUCH smaller bikes and still putting on a great show.

The minimum income you talked about is the income for low labour class and I believe low labour class don't do this thing here my friend.
This is for Thai middle class and I think it's very normal to bet like that because many of them spent like almost a million(us$10,000-20,000)just to built their bike and some of them spent over a million baht(us$30,000+) just to built their bike especially old bike such as KR, even Chad has one of his video about bike (KR 150cc) VS skyline and that time they bet 3,000,000 baht (us$100,000) just a quarter mile race.
Normally if you want to bet like that you should prepare your money just about 1-2 millions baht (us$30,000-60,000) and I guess that would be enough to have fun all night or some people just bet the only bike they've been followed and come to cheer.

My favorite is the Yamaha ZR120RR from the mid 90's with a huge Deltabox frame and 20hp stock and more when tuned. Great little bike.

1:28 these vans are called toyota hi ace it is a popular van here in southeast asia also these vans are used in drag diesel. Toyota hiace uses a 2.5 liter diesel engine for commuter type the slim ones grandia types or the fat ones uses 3 liter diesel engine I think

Those vans are toyota hiace. It’s a really great van for any type of transportation on eastern countries. Sadly you can import the older models to the US but it’s still looks good.
It would be interestng to get some stats on these events like what classes are running, how many competitors per class, best times, etc. Not so much it gets boring … just enough to convey the excitement that comes with the speeds run by these little machines.

The vans are Toyota Quantum's. In South Africa they are used as taxi's - the cheaper versions are Hi-Aces
I am very surprised they are not using air or electronic aided shifters but I guess when you “only” have 150cc grams count. Was such a pretty blue pit was surprised to see it there. Definitely should do some betting maybe do a live stream and people can bet via super chat or something.
