      Azerbaijan is one of the countries that has competed with Swedish songs the most.
      Let´s look at the jury scores from Azerbaijan to Sweden the years they competed with song co-written by Swedes, to see if your claim holds any truth, and is based on facts, or if you just made it up:
      2019: 0 p from their jury to Sweden
      2018: 0 p from their jury to Sweden
      2017: 0 p from their jury to Sweden

      There's a rule in Melodifestivalen that Swedish song-writers need to be involved in writing every entry to qualify. Few other broadcasters seem to have similar rules, and in general it seems more important that the singer is a local. Which I get, since they are who the audience sees, but out of every rule that gets copycatted from Melodifestivalen to Eurovision I think this would be one of the best ones. Foreign song-writers can be involved (especially since it's such an international business these days), but I think it would be nice to have a rule in place that at least one song-writer needs to be a citizen of the country in question. Could give newer (especially pop) song-writers a chance against the more established names.

      Sweden has a rule in Melodifestivalen that songs entered must be co-written by at least one Swedish composer to be allowed to compete, so Swedish entries always have at least one Swedish composer involved (and in reality nearly always completely Swedish teams). They have no such rules about singers though, and as we've seen MF has included participants that aren't even Swedish residents. Some broadcasters seem to have the opposite rule - or at least have it as an unofficial rule - that they want the singer to be a local (resident or citizen), but it doesn't matter as much where the song composer is from... that's an interesting difference.

      Is that really that hard to understand? In the case of the Italian one they sent the song in English to that manager of the artist, and the artist translated it into Italian.
      Thomas G:son who wrote "Quédate conmigo" has written 10 in Spanish that has competed in Misión Eurovisión (The Spanish selection show for Eurovision).
      It's also possible for Swedes to learn Spanish and Italian. They can also co-write the song with someone who speaks those language, who translate the song.

      This isn´t _all_ Songs Written / Co-Written by Swedish Composers. It´s just the most successful ones, the top 40. Notice the one that is on 40th place. It came 17th. "Bigger Than US" wouldn´t be able to be on the top 40, since it came 26th. Perhaps it would make it into a top 100 or something like that.

    L'amore è femmina was definitely not composed by a Swede: the Italian verion came out earlier than the Eurovision one and was totally in Italian. So, no way a Swede composed it... Maybe the english lyrics were set up by a Swede, but composition is another thing.

    • @Asa...S
      @Asa...S Před 2 lety

      Just because the version in Italian came out earlier doesn´t mean that there were no Swedes composing it. It just means that the Italians artist chose to translate it to Italian and release that version first.
      "Maybe the english lyrics were set up by a Swede, but composition is another thing."
      It was the other way around, the Italian lyrics was written by an Italian, the artist herself, after she was sent the song in English, composed by Christian Rabb, Kristoffer Sjökvist, Frida Molander who are Swedish and Charlie Mason who is American.
      Wikipedia: "The song was originally written in English by Christian Rabb, Kristoffer Sjökvist, Frida Molander and Charlie Mason. A demo of the song was later sent to Zilli's manager, Fabrizio Giannini. After hearing the song, Zilli translated the lyrics in Italian and recorded it with the title "L'amore è femmina"."

      @@robinwrld0 "Most productive" does not mean the best. The best are those who write beautiful lyrics, with a particularly ingenious message and rhymes. Of these 40 songs, maybe 1 or 2 have nice lyrics. Sweden the capital of music? Since when? For the past 10 years, perhaps. Apart from ABBA, how many internationally recognized Swedish musicians are there? The fact that Spotify was invented there does not mean anything: it is an app, which means that you have good technologies, not that you are the capital of music. Incidentally, all the texts that are brought from Sweden to Eurovision are in English. You simply have famous and recognized songwriters throughout Europe who write lyrics for Eurovision songs from other countries.

    I hate Swedish composers. They write a typical Europop, rarely something interesting comes from them. They turned Eurovision into the assembly line. Don't you want to bother with the song? Buy a song from the Swedes. They write them on a regular basis and try to sell them every year. Every year one can hear "This song was wanted to be sent from (any country) or (any country), but it was bought by (any country). Respect for the countries that attract their composers to write songs.
