This just shows that the juries underscore the Italian entries every time.
Which is especially weird when it comes to Il Volo. You'd think that'd be jury-friendly. And yet.
@@cupcakewithouttheicing The lyrics were to cheesy so they didn't win because of that.
@@MrJazzCat38 also France 2021 had a cheesy lyrics (voilà repeated for thousands of time) and still got the second place in juries.

Ugh it's a sad fact that some songs could have win if they would participate in another year
But you can not tell, the percentage is due in comparison of the songs of that year🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@tulliomucciolo2835 no i think it's the percentage of possible points they could have had aka if they got 12 points from every single other country.
@@iyawakarehen I do not know then...
I LOVED Beautiful Mess and I think had that been in the competition either the year before or the year after it definitely would have won I believe.
Explanation how the % score is calculated: It's the percentage of the maximum score a country can get. If a country gets all 12 points from every country, it's 100%. For example 39 countries participated in 2021. Country X got 200 points in the final. Country X can't vote for itself so max. possible points 38 x 24 (jury + tele) = 912. Means 200 points of 912 = 21.93%.
Unfortunately there is no song from 2013 included because the split points results jury & televoting have never been published. We only got the average placings in each voting (jury & televote).
@PlatinSam How is it calculed ? ans what is the 100 % ?
pin it for people who dont know it
I was so confused, thank you for the explanation
Sorry I still don’t get it. In your example of country X the 21.93% is the percentage of the combined jury and Tele vote, but you wanted to state just the highest Tele vote results, so did you not have to split once more, so in case of X 100 jury points and 100 Tele points means 50%?
why isnt it just "televoting points received/total televoting points overall"?
Italy rules the televoting. Il Volo first😍
So people be talking about how Italy was robbed in 2019, but Norway was #1 in televotes...
not by much, three songs that got second in the televoting got higher than it
I hope next year in Italy we will see Il Volo as a special guest
Why? It’s time to let go and move on. 🙄
@@paulmartin1532 Why? Becuase Il Volo are cool, the ESC voting public clearly loves them, and ESC needs interval acts. I ask you, why not?

Yeeeess, Il Volo💞, the true winners of 2015 🇮🇹
Italy got its revenge after being robbed four times of the victory
they weren't exactly robbed in 2019
2011, 2015, 2017, 2019 and by extension 2020.
Can't be robbed of something you never had in rhe first place.
I personally don’t think you guys were robbed in 2019... Surprised that song got as many votes as it did tbh, not a great song.
@@ariellee2329 we got many points because of the good song we had in 2019. Not liking that song means being tasteless, and unfortunately there's not a cure for that
Both 2012 and 2015 when Sweden won Russia got 2nd. Just wanted to drop an interesting fact.
And both of those times Sweden got 3rd the year before
both years had a theme with warm colours, Baku's was orange while Vienna's was red, they also both had an increase in finalists
For the people who don't understand: the % is calculated with the maximum score. Each participating country's jury gives away 1-8, 10 and 12 points to another country, but the same happens for the televoting.
So if country x has most of its votes for italy, italy gets 12 points, and if the second most votes of country x were for ukraine, ukraine gets 10 points
Considering there are 39 countries participating this year, they can all get 38 x 12 = 456 points max.
So italy got 318 points this year.
( 318/456 ) x 100 = 69,74%
Russia 😍 Italy 😍

@@PlatinSam How is Iceland from this year ahead of Finland, when Finland received more points from televoting? 🤔 Is there something I'm not getting?
Iceland is 44th here and Finland 28th in this video. So it should be correct :)
@@PlatinSam Oh, I must've missed it, all good😅
Poland 2016
222 from jury
42 countries x 12points = 504
So why 45,12%?
I have to say that I don't understand the percentages. According to the video, in 2016, Ukraine got 65.65% in televoting and the same year Russia got 73.37%. What's that supposed to mean, number of points scored in televoting divided by the maximum possible score for that year (number of participating countries * 12)?
It's a percentage out of the maximum possible points they could have achieved u believe
Not Polina and Il Volo having more votes than Mans Marshmallow
I'm confused by how the percentages are formed.
Same lol
It’s the percentage of total points they received out of what they could have possibly received. If there’s 39 countries in the competition, the most you can receive is 12x38 = 456, as you can’t receive points from your own country’s Public vote. So, at least with the new scoring system, it’s saying what percentage of that 456 the songs received.
@@natknowles3153 Ah, so that's why there can be multiple with 50+%
Who is the guy in thumbnail?
What do you mean by the % here. The amount of the total score that was tele votes vs jury votes?
It's simple. When you get 12 points from all the countries apart from yours, you got 100%.
The percentage is made up of (points that the country got at the televote)/(maximal score reachable) everything multiplied by 100.
I hope I've been clear 🙂
@@giovanniscg8540 AHHH so its the % of each countries possible score that they achieved, not the % of the points they got that year, which is why we can add to over 100%
Let's be honest, if the jury would have any taste of music, we would've won in 2019 (norway)
Arcade was a masterpiece and deserved to win 🙌🏼💜
@@romychar would've been higher at least, we deserved to get higher, it was our best performance in years
You deserved the victory (sorry Duncan).
1 Norway
2 Italy
3 Netherlands
Not sure what this percentage stands for...
Let's take an example. Portugal at number 3 circa 74%. Well, this 74% can't be the percentage of all televote points distributed in that year (afterall the bulgarian song of the same year is only a few spots behind it and also has over 50%). It also can't be the percentage of televotes as a part of the total points (it was almost an even split between jury and televote for Portugal, so the actual number for that is around 50%). Can't be the percentage of 12 points taken either (again, bulgarian song in also in the top 10).
So...what does this percentage stand for exactly?
The video creator has answered already to another person, so I quote: "It's the percentage of the maximum score a country can get. If a country gets all 12 points from every country, it's 100%."
Like the above comment said and taking the example you gave, Portugal and Bulgaria in 2017 have a huge score in percentage because they got either the 12 or 10 points, etc. (i.e. top scores) from each off the voting countries. All this top points combined make them really sucessful in percentage on the televote.
Okay, cheers for the clarification
How can italy and the netherland both het 50+% in the same year? Or is it amount of total votes they got
Sergey Lazarev ❤️❤️❤️
Where is Yohanna? Iceland 2009?
Surely Only Teardrops is on here. It won the bloody thing
How did you calculate the percentages? They make no sense. Italy, Ukraine and France 2021 together have like 200%?
Explanation how the % score is calculated: It's the percentage of the maximum score a country can get. If a country gets all 12 points from every country, it's 100%. For example 39 countries participated in 2021. Country X got 200 points in the final. Country X can't vote for itself so max. possible points 38 x 24 (jury + tele) = 912. No, unfortunately only the average placings of each country is published in split results of jury and televote...
Undo was in eurovision + from my country????
Wat
what does the precentage even mean???
'Ranked in percentage'. Percentage relative to what?
These numbers aren't adding up, how can multiple years have percentages above 50%
Is that not like mathematically impossible :o
Lets take 2021 for example, this year 39 countries participated. Each country gives 58 points to the total televoting, but a country can receive a maximum of 12 points from a single country. Thus you have country possible maximum points (468) and all available points (2262). The percentage calculation in this video comes from the first: actual points given / country possible maximum points.
What is this percentage based on?
It's the percentage of the maximum score a country can get. If a country gets all 12 points from every country, it's 100%.

it makes no sens, how iceland 2021 can have 39,47% of televoting since france got 200+ and italy 300+ ?
Explanation how the % score is calculated: It's the percentage of the maximum score a country can get. If a country gets all 12 points from every country, it's 100%. For example 39 countries participated in 2021. Country X got 200 points in the final. Country X can't vote for itself so max. possible points 38 x 24 (jury + tele) = 912. how percentage works here? i mean isnt it supposed to have 100% per year? I mean 2021 songs has combined percentage in this video more than 230% where those extra 130% comes from?
by my own quick calculations total vote points in 2021 was 2262 italy got 318 points that would make about 14% from total points, ukraine about 12% and finland about 9%.
It's the percentage of the televoting points each country could have gotten, not the percentage of all televoting points. So if a country got 12 televoting points from every other country that would be 100%.

stiil mad that italy didint win in 2015...
yeah its a big no from me, netta
Whats your formula? How can france have 50+% when she only has 251pts out of possible 2112?
My dear friend, there are not 2112 points available...
France got 251 points from televoting. The countries are 38 + France that can't vote for itself; The max point that a country can give is 12. So 38 x 12 = 456 max point available from televote. Doing a primary school maths calculation called "proportion" will help you to do the calculation.
(max votes available for televtote) : (100%) = (votes for France) : (percentage of vote for France)
This means in number: 456 : 100 = 251 : x
that means -> 100 x 251 = 25100 -> 25100/456 ≈ 55,04
Therefore the video is correct, my friend.
Never understand Shady Lady song why it got so many points
Me neither, I always hated it, there were so many better songs that year
something is wrong with ur math cuz if 70% of the vote went to italy which is 318 -> the rest 30 % is like 137 points left ....
They got 70% of the points that they possibly could get. If they would get full possible points they would get 100%.
So the percentage isn't based on ALL the televote points given totally.

No lol the fandom is so dumb, can you imagine san marino and malta being bottom 10 this year, and norway winning esc over the netherlands in 2019?
You may think 100% televote is the way to go.
HELL NO.
Eurovision tried it in the 2000’s and it sucked and made Eurovision a joke and almost ruined it entirely. Up until the 00’s it was a serious contest but televising only made it a joke.
When the jury was brought back in 2009 or 2010, it helped save Eurovision and make it more professional and not just a joke.
Heck, 2021 Eurovision is yet another reason why Juries are here to stay. There were way more songs that were robbed by the televote than by the juries. Malta, Belgium, Portugal,Bulgaria etc.
