Truly fascinating how extensive all these trenches and bunkers are across the landscape. So much work. Love these little pieces of forgotten history. They always stir the imagination as to why they put them there, and who sat there every day staring out over the landscape. Amazing stuff. Thank you both for doing all the hard work. Very much appreciated. Cheers, and Stay Safe!

This place is very strange , like there is no context between what they did and what could be expected to happen there if the allies came. But glad we could share it with you and Happy Holidays Peter :)

In the bunker with the bones, you can see a mud line about a meter up on the wall. Poor cow probably wandered in during a rain storm and ended up succumbing that. Also looked like modern weatherstripping on the door frame? Have a great Boxing Day and wonderful New Year!

A lot of German activity went on at that site. German underground bunker was something to see still in pretty good shape structurally. Surprised that all of the fox holes were not filled in by nature. Much work involved in digging those tunnels. Way to go EE finding the triple piglet wire posts and machine gun bunker. Thanks for your hard work HH and EE.

I’ve watched a lot of videos of ppl touring famous world war 2 places, and their all just sort of the less rare discoveries or popular tourist destinations, which is totally fine and great actually, but I also like to dig deeper into the places that are rare and most ppl don’t go into. When you talked about the difficulties of climbing up to these locations, I would think that would be what you would want with a defensive position. The more difficult you make it for your enemies to get to you, the more successful you’ll be in defending it. Eagle Eyes does a great job noticing hidden features in the landscape. Going out on these adventures with you, has taught him what to look for. The trenches, fighting positions and bunker all appear to be untouched over the years. A cow may have wandered into that bunker and couldn’t get back out. Do you think there might be more at this location?

Bones!! Of course immediately I thought they were human bones not cow bones. Set the mood for the rest of the video. This particular German defensive position on the Atlantic Wall had ideal and effective coverage. The conditions sure were wet and boggy. Never said your job was easy. Once again EE good catch in locating the Triple Piglet pole for barbed wire. That was a huge ball of German barbed wire, and it was something seeing that barb wire defense line pole still standing. The snip of barbed wire EE was holding will make a nice addition to a diorama for some lucky Patreon receiver. EE yet another great catch re the concrete trenches, small bunker and the MG/ammo storage pocket. The trenches were quite treacherous - be careful. Good use of the German Triple Piglet pole for the farmer's barbed wire fence. The Foxhole was well hidden and still fairly intact. The Big German bunker with the two openings was an awesome find. It did look like no human had been there for awhile. I think I heard EE excited voice in the background at one point. Sure was a lot of metal beams in the ceiling of the bunker. Quite well constructed. It looks like it had everything needed at one point by the look of the layout. Thanks again for going out there, fighting the elements with a sore back yet and bringing us WW2 history. What a trooper! I would say another successful trek. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas HH, BBG, & EE. Happy New Year and continue to stay safe.

The first little bunker looked like a shelter for the soldiers during shelling or bombing raid. I think I remember seeing a video of soldiers coming out of a bunker like that after being shelled. They were coming out of both sides were the two entrances where. The second small bunker in side of the hill in the trench system may have been for ammunition being so far out from the main bunkers that are there. You always find the best locations with something new at each one.

Hello from East Tennessee, USA. Wonderful video. Well edited and very informative. The map you showed us also was very helpful to understanding the video. Please use more maps in the future. It is easy to get confused when watching the video when there is no map. What sources do you use to find the trenches? Books, archives? If they are books with that much detail, I would love to read them. Keep the good work coming. Stay safe, stay warm. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Covid is a global political scam on their citizens. I’ve had it I’m 58 years old. I’ve had colds that were worse. Our governments are destroying our economy to increase the lower class population in our countries. They think there are too many upper middle-class people now and they’re not able to control us as easily
