  • In this video we run a DC fast charging test on the Lucid Air Pure and pull together a charging curve graph.
    We also test out the plug and play feature that Lucid has with Electrify America as part of their 3-years of free charging partnership.
    We do run into some charging station bumps at the EA station that are discussed.
    Enjoy!

      It’s a great vehicle. The inside is very nice in my opinion. The perfect blend of luxury and minimalist. It drives great. Charges great. Storage is the best I’ve seen for a sedan. And it is still a head turner. More so than even our Rivian. The main negative is the regular dream drive which I have does not have a 360 camera or true lane centering. It has lane keep assist but it’ll ping ping you back and forth if you try to go hands free for a bit. At this price point, those should have been standard. If you got dream drive pro, this is a non-issue. The roof on the front end is a little low so you just need to get used to this when getting in and out of the car. The app is little slow to wake the vehicle at times but that will get fixed with software updates I’m sure. Other than those, it really is a great car. You’ll enjoy it for sure and won’t regret it!

    Just charged last night at an EA, and got full speed. Best part about it, there was a Polestar there charging that was at 50% when I plugged in and I was at 7%. By the time I hit 74% I was at 350 miles, and Mr. Polestar was at 90%....with a max range of 320! I was LMAO as I drove away with a larger charge and a faster time.

      Yes, I do believe these are the Signet Surge charging stations. The old ones were replaced with these at this location about 6-months ago.

      @@EV-365 I'm glad you're posting. Not much on Lucid Pure here. Most are Lucid GT. I didn't see any charging rollercoaster on your video. Ramp up was a bit slow so you had to change stations. Perhaps with Pure and Touring being lower voltage they will not get the surge problem. EA has got to do better.

    I had ordered a lucid but because the charging network (AE) is so inferior and undependable compared to tesla's super chargers, I canceled my order with lucid and rivian. I decided to keep my MX's. I have never been to a supercharger that has not worked flawlessly. 3rd party charging networks have been nothing headaches for me.

    • @EV-365
      @EV-365  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Tesla is opening up the networks soon. Rivian has announced they will provide adapters. Lucid, not yet, but they will once Tesla has more of their new chargers out there that can maximize the Lucid's charging speeds.

    In my AGT I've seen over 300kW occasionally but the 350kW EA chargers are not very reliable, especially when it's hot weather. For me, when travelling I often stop and just get a little charge every couple hours. This lets me stretch my legs and avoid fatigue. That can mean I sometimes plug in at 30% or more. In that case or if stopping for longer that 20 minutes (getting lunch or going shopping) I will just start out with the more reliable 150kW chargers. My Lucid regularly draws 171kW on the 150 chargers until the charging curve tapers off.

    Recently EA has really dropped the ball on their Hyper Chargers....Where I would normally jump to over 300KW on the start, it now on the hyper charger is only pulling 30KW. And I don't charge during the day, I normally charge between 2 and 3 AM. Way off peak hours....I basically said to hell with it and charged at home. Stupid performance. I reported the experience with Lucid Custome Care and the logged the issue with EA. That was my only time I had such a terrible experience with them. But I noticed you had to press continue, which I have never had to do. But the time I just explained, I had to use the LUCID app to confirm charging, which I have never had to do before. So very frustrating, especially if you run the car down to those lower levels...because then you are stuck there until you can charge up enough to at least get home. SMH

      Eventually, all of the networks should be open to everyone which will really help but the charging infrastructure is definitely a thing to factor in right now if you don’t have charging at home and/or take a lot of long road trips.

      It’s still early days so it’ll get better! But honestly, there is some fun to all of this. And if you have home charging, there is only the occasional thing to worry about when you’re road-tripping! For daily driving, an EV is much less hassle than a ICE vehicle IF you have home or work charging.

      Most days I charge while I sleep at home so not really an issue. For road trips or if you do not have the ability to charge at home/office, it is something to consider...but again, with the Lucid, only if you are going somewhere well over 300 miles away, which should be a pretty small use case. Thanks for watching!
