This is, hands down, the best, least dramatic and most informative video I’ve seen on Lucid or, frankly, any EV (and I have watched hundreds of videos at this point). Well done. This addresses every physical nuance or question I had.

This is a good video, genuinely refreshing to hear someone who actually owns the car just say what they think of it and their satisfaction level instead of comparing it to other brands. I never knew about the bigger battery pack taking up more rear passenger footroom and i think that's worth considering when ordering one of these. Hope you make more videos about your car and your day to day experience with it.

Well, I was at a specialty shop just yesterday and it took me an hour just to get in the door because the salesman came out and had to ask me all about my Air GT. Here are Pro's and Con's List:
Cons: Atmos system - While this sound system does an excellent job with symphonic music, it does a piss poor job at any type of music that has deep rich bass or thumping bass. There is little to no bass response from this system. The sound system I had in my Fusion Energi was excellent for all types of music.
Camera system recording. I inquire about this on a monthly basis, but it simply is not a priority of the company, and having a Garmin mini II dangling from the center over head blows. Eventhough I hid all the wires, it's not really how I want to be seen while driving.
Homelink: This would seem to be a very simple thing, but only if you have physical buttons to press. The the programmers at LUCID simply have no idea what they are doing in this regard. They have programmed it to transmit for way to long. When I try to open my gate, the system keeps transmitting, so while the gate starts to open the car is still transmitting, and the receiver detects a signal and stops. Ultra frustrating that I have to keep a controller in the car just for the gate. Sometimes this happens with the garage door. Mine also seems to have a feature that it's not suppose to have, according to my tech. When I come up on my home, the home link detects I'm home and it automatically opens the garage door. It's not suppose to do that. My tech says he knows one other person that happens to.
Phone Bluetooth interface. If you pull the control of the phone to the phone for a call, the car releases ALL interface with the audio. Therefore if you go to play your playlist, the sound system doesn't play it, but rather your phone does. to get it back you have to make another call on the phone and switch the system back to the car... Really dumb.
Glovebox open - First time to open it via pilot screen - COOL, every time after, Pain in the Ass!
Key Fob this is a 20 page complaint.
Physical controls on the dash - Sun reflecting off them, is so annoying. I have come up with a solution and my tech is helping me with it, once I test and like it I will share it.
      Pros
Ultra smooth ride, Head turner, comfort for all who ride in it, Exclusivity, Performance, Future upgrades.
Probably the best riding car I have ever had, and when we go out with another couple, everyone has a good ride experience.
I did not want to be another dime a dozen Tesla owner, I wanted a car that very few people have seen, and the Lucid fits the bill. In my section of the city I live there is only 4 units, and I have two of them in a year. I pulled into a roving classic car display and everyone had to come check out the Lucid.
Performance - let's face it this is the one thing Tesla hangs its hat on, and I know I'm fast too, but I want to focus on what is really important, the experience of the drive.
Future Upgrades. Customer service does listen to complaints, expecially car altering issues. I helped identify the controller probem for the car during a charging session that sparked the national recall. While this required a hardware replacement, most of the other fixes happened OTA updates. Knowing that the car will improve over time is very important and allows me to experience a whole new aspect of the car even years into it.
I was an early adopter of EV's back in 2012, and I learned how to drive an EV then, most people think they can jump on it constantly and still get max range...you can't. The power is there for the rare times you need it, but to get max range you need to drive responsibly. I would get 470 mile range if I drained the car down to zero charge each and every time, but you are not suppose to do that, just like you are not suppose to ever run out of gas in an ICE. I have been working and selling Lithium Ion batteries for almost 10 years now and have a better insight into how to best use the battery and take care of it. Just use your best judgement on the current state of charge, and you will do fine.
A final word of advice, this is something most people don't think about until it happens and with most other cars it's never a big deal. The tires on this car are flush with the wheels, which means it you happen to brush up against a curb...you will get curb rash on the wheel. Learn to use the camera system and if you think you are too close to the curb, stop and re-adjust to prevent this unsightly occurance.
      Good Luck everyone!

@@terrytexas8257also. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it I got a Tesla Model 3 in April. Basically I put my toe into the whole EV thing. It's only 9 months and I love EV life and thinking of ordering the Model X plaid.
To be honest I think you guys have the more desirable vehicles I just love the Tesla supercharger network.

Such a refreshing video. Love to see such an equally critical and realistic review. I think it would be cool for you to revisit the final portion of the video every Christmas to see how they adjust and improve the cars software. They do some pretty amazing updates. The frequent, incremental updates far and above are better than the infrequent, larger updates that other manufacturers push.
Can't wait to see more, you've definitely earned a sub and bell.

I have the Air GT, and my service tech told me that Lucid over bought the massage seats in the Tahoe color, and that they would make them available to Air T customers as an upgrade. This means that you could upgrade to the GT front seats, and your updates would include a special programming for the upgrade. Nice bonus for those owners, but sadly only in that one color scheme. Ask your service tech about this if you are interested.
The dash cam system is on their "to-do" list, but it is a low priority thing for them. I installed a garmin mini, and hid the wire. Caution, you have to buy an extra long wire to make it back to the trunk. Also, that 12v port is only active 10 minutes after the car is off. I put ceramic tint on mine, so I did not put the camera on the glass, but instead on the plastic hub in the center hanging down....you get use to it, but I can't wait until they activate the camera system.
I have suggested all the items you have brought up to Customer Service and I also included a feature that the sun shades on the back windows be keyed off the light sensor, so that when it gets dark, then those shades come down automatically.
As for the audio system, the Dolby Atmos system is nice, but with zero bass response, songs I have that have deep rich or even thumping bass in them is not enjoyable in this car. I am going to see about adding a bass unit to it, but only if it makes sense to do so and doesn't void any warranty.
Personally, I have had my Air GT for almost 1 year now, and have only put 3500 miles on it. It will never be in the rain or snow, (my 87 Corvette has only been in the rain/snow 5 times). I highly recommend getting a PPF/ceramic coating and ceramic tint on the car. The PPF pattern came out the day my car when in, and it is perfect. I recently bought the roof window cover and it has made a huge difference in blocking the heat coming in during the summer, and so far retaining the heat during the colder months.
Customer service actually documents every complaint and will make their best effort to implement customer ideas. I helped with the cruise control system and diagnosed a big problem with the documentation that they updated. I also identified the charge controller they did a recall for by providing actual real numbers while it happened at an EA. They logged into the car and pulled the real time data, which was really cool.
My advice to you is that (and I know this is hard for a young kiddo to do) you know your car is fast, and can blow the doors off and ICE car on the road off the line. You really don't need to prove anything...they will challenge you but only to see how they do compared to you. Enjoy the luxury of the car and just cruise down the road, the car turns heads, and that is very cool indeed. There are only 4 in my area and have had so many high end drivers stop and ask me about mine.
    Good Luck and have fun!

@@FSX239 I get 470 on range each and every time I charge up. I have the 21's...I have looked into getting the 19's, but I really love how the 21's look. However, since I do not drive it until Zero Charge, 430 to 440 is what I get. There is an EA Hyper station 10 mile from my place. I charge up to 300 mile then come home and top it off on the solar array.

It would be cool for you to document and post some experiences you have with the car, dealers, service centers, etc. even if it's just text posts, its nice to see owners' perspectives and experiences. communication between Lucid and the public is quite limited (mostly just PR and marketing), so things like hearing dash cam on the to-do list is completely new news to me

    Great review.
About your gripe of powering a dashcam though: Most dashcams do not require a cigarette lighter port. They come with an adapter so they can be powered by it, but most are perfectly fine plugging directly into a USB-A or USB-C charging port. Just thought I'd mention that.
I plan on getting my Air Touring next summer and can't wait.

I've had my 2023 Lucid Air Touring since last summer. It is easily the most enjoyable automobile I've ever had the pleasure of driving. I agree with the critiques as presented in this video, as small as they were. Thankfully, I don't have to use DC fast charge since I power it at home every night. As an aside, my home solar installation produces enough power for our home, and two EV's, with a significant surplus. It's like getting free fuel for life.

I agree that having a Sentry mode and wondered if they have it. Maybe in the future. In as far as installing one: I hate, hate, hate wires hanging for cell phone or dashcam. I won't do it. Neverthless, I took my Nissan Minicargo van, had a dual camera installation and you cannot see the wires because the shop I took it to hide them all and hard wired it. No cigarette plug-in. Sweet job done.
Point being it can be done but I am not sure I want to spend the money to have a dashcam put in because with my luck, the day it is installed Lucid will say they are downloading a software package for one.
Oh, and very good video. Down to earth.
