Mohamed Salah has a claim to be one the best players in the world on current form. He is one of the most recognisable players on the planet.
But how did he get to this point? Alex Stewart charts Salah’s rise from a small village in northern Egypt, avoiding military service, and being rejected by Chelsea, to becoming Premier League and Champions League winner, and captaining his country.
Illustrated by Philippe Fenner.

#Salah #Liverpool #Egypt - Sport
His injury against Real Madrid in the UCL final is a story for itself. Could have been career defining but he came back stronger
Liverpool wouldn't have won cos they lost not because of the absence of Salah but due to errors by Karius the Virus.
@@MarkLaw13 and his concussion
@@imputinandihaveasmallpeepe9165 don't bring that into this. It just makes Karius look selfish. He should have said something but wanted to be a hero. If he wasn't silly, he will still have a career today. So no, he had no concussion.
@@MarkLaw13 don't think you know what a concussion is.
@@manwithnoname8229 I don't think you understand when you have a concussion you tell the medical staff in different ways
1) lie on the pitch which grabs the refs attention
2) tell the medical staff
3) if they think it's not that serious you can blame them
4) you don't say you got hit by Ramos which we saw weeks after the game was over then you say I had a concussion.
5) Karius didn't say it immediately after the game.
6) I go back to him being selfish which cost us that trophy. It was 2-1. Mane had just hit the post before the 3rd goal.
Despite his Serie A success it is hard to imagine him in anything other than a Liverpool shirt now for me, he really was a bargain for what they got. Well put together video and graphics per usual.
You mean one the best bargains of the century. Salah has been playing like Messi and Cristiano put together and for a few years now, not just this season.

As a Chelsea fan..ngl his rise has actually been really painful to watch. But jokes aside..he’s come a really long way. I still remember when people called him a “one season wonder” that aged well innit?
I guess that's made even worse when you see KDB at city? 2 world class talents slipped through chelsea's hands.
@@81stCommander They probably wouldn't be world class if they stayed at Chelsea lol.
@@zanies6288 maybe not, but we'll never know.
@@81stCommander It is indeed really painful mate. But then again, there was no way they could’ve forced their way into the lineup. Oscar was one of the best attacking mids at that time, which meant limited opportunities for KDB. Willian was in great form on the right wing, which meant limited opportunities for Salah as well.
@@zanies6288 worse if they went to united
From being a nobody to the best player in the world.
Mohamed Salah's story is so inspiring .
He is a living Legend
@Mason greenwood remember not to drop the soap💀 especially infront of Mendy 😂
Relax pal he’s very good but he’s not even the best player in his team this season
@Mason greenwood still getting it
@Mason greenwood says the guy in jail
Best player in the world??? LMFAO
Not even the best Liverpool player,
Jota and TAA are both clear of Salah
Everyone is talking about how Chelsea sold De Bruyne and Salah, currently (arguably) the two best players in the league, but at the time selling them made sense since they struggled at the club and didnt get much playing time. What is really baffling however was selling Juan Mata, who had been Chelsea´s best player in the two previous seasons.
Baffling more, sold Arjen Robben 😑
@@rezze Dia kaca. Jual sajalah.
For the record, the Chelsea Squad in that season (2014-2016) season was arguably got plenty attacking talents like Costa, Ba, Torres, Mata, Fabregas, Willian, Oscar, Etoo, Hazard, and Schurrle, which makes sense for even a Mourinho maybe struggled to choose who should be in starting line up.
@@albriengoldenbrush6328 schurrle was mid asf lmao
They got a good money fof Mata, who has been falling out of favor and also old, too slow for premier league..
A true PL great. He will be remembered along the same class as Rooney, Alan Shearer, Henry etc
Rooney doesn't belong in that list
@@suiteyousir you must hate united then
@@bacunnnn Ruud van nistelrooy belongs in that list, one of the best PL strikers ever. But Rooney's goal scoring record was never good enough
@Mason greenwood because he played so many games. I'm talking about goals per season. How often did he score more than 20 league goals a season in all those years, twice.
@Mason greenwood spot on, he’s in a league of his own.
Salah will go down as one of the greatest turnaround stories of our time. Can't wait to see a film about him.
@Mason greenwood Can't wait for the documentary about rapists and abusers that played for Manchester United, seems to be a running theme with you lot.
@Mason greenwood how’s 5-0 there
@Mason greenwood pls win a cup first then talk kid
Salah 100% deserves to win the ballon d'or
A big point missing here is that he was responsible for Egypt's first WC participation since Italia '90.
Marvelous timing
I often wonder what would've happened if Salah had signed for Liverpool back in 2014, instead of going to Chelsea. LFC were linked w/ him, but Chelsea offered more money.
Would he have developed the same way under Rodgers?
Or under Klopp for that matter.
Would Liverpool instead not have to waste a ton of money on man like Markovic, Balotelli and Benteke after losing Suarez?
How many more assists would Coutinho have gotten from being able to slide balls in behind for Mo?
Would Barca have decided to sign Salah instead of Coutinho in the summer of 2017 after losing Neymar and panicking?
Crazy how small things like this could have drastically altered the landscape of football
Deep
The butterfly effect
his different experiences with different clubs definately helped shape him. 2017 Salah is much more resilient than 2014 Salah. My guess he wouldn't have stayed long with liverpool at that time. we will never know though
Good Point!
As a liverpool fan, for the 1st and 2nd answer, id say both to no
In 2013/2014, Rodgers is focusing more on sterling and sturridge development since both of them also young talents, yet exclusively on sturridge, he's also had an unconfidence mental. So it's likely that Salah would get abandoned and sided
As for 2nd Q, it's an unlikely. Following the despair of failing PL title, Suarez movement, and also tensions between Stevie G and Rodgers, a hope for "excellent" striker surfaces as the scapegoat hope. Thus, Salah would probably get a hefty amount of pressure following Suarez's succession. Chances for him failed up the expectation, and the history progressed
Elite timing 😭😭😭

Spectacular timing
Being a Liverpool fan and having Salah is the best feeeling ever and he’s loved by the Liverpool fans 👏🏻👏🏻
King of Football at the moment, this is Salah's world and we're just living in it
As the era of Messi and Ronaldo fades away and the youngsters like Mbappi and Haaland are a couple of years away from possible Ballon d'Or success, he should enjoy his time.
@Mason greenwood username checks out
He could grab one ballon d or this year his only competitor is lewa
@@rishiganguly5586 Benzema is clear
@Mason greenwood ummm have you won a champions league or premier league
Very well made! You forgot to mention that he was also linked with Liverpool back in 2014. But at the time Chelsea swooped him because of Mourinho. Glad that he was able to go back to Liverpool in 2017.
The “rise” of Mohamed Salah 🙂
I see what you did there
@Football4Life it’s not
@Football4Life You’ve called me a child because I’ve disagreed with you you’re the one that needs to grow up white knighting someone for sending their nob out hahahahaha

Timing this to his todger reveal. Amazing forsight Tifo. Keep it up.
@Football4Life not fake
@Football4Life It's not. Internet detectives noticed a blemish or mole on his chest that is also on the nudes.
Great timing putting this video out now
Saw him in FC Basel in the champions league and I could see he would be a fantastic player. Mourinho barely played him at Chelski, and when he did play he did make an impact I feel.
"He's pulling his c*ck out!" - Critical
fake
Imagine traveling 4.5 hour a day to get to training! Talk about commitment!
honestly i think mo salah is the best player in the world currently , he works so hard
LMFAO no way, not even best Liverpool player.
Jota and TAA are both clear
@@chumlanthungshitiri199 bahahhahaha
I've been following him since the beginning, I knew he would become one of the best players in the world.
I want him to play for Liverpool for at least next 7 years. He is the best!
salah is prime example that sometimes talent shines through whichever situation
We've a new one in Luis Diaz.
Great timing
Total neutral here, but he has clearly been the best footballer in the world for the last 2-3 years.
LOVE Mo Salah. Highly underrated imo!
great timing
Brilliant! These portrait videos are always very interesting and enlightening.
He is simply amazing
At Fc Basel he just lacked the killer instinct to score, but was already a potentially great winger. By the way, Mohammed Elneny was playing for Basel at the same time. Great transfers!
I love Mo with all my heart
Some pics have also risen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He's the best player in the world. He was unlucky in the afcons. He's too assist and top scorer in the PL. Top player.
Karim Benzema clear
Not even the best player at Liverpool.
Jota and TAA are clear of salah
The admin knew what he was doing after what happened on Twitter last night
Nice idea, to post about him when he's trending...
Well something else rise from him too
Mohamed means knowledge, Salah means prayer, insha'Allah we all get to jannah 🤲🏻
Mo Salah, best in the world. I wish he could've made it here at Chelsea, but I'm glad he's doing great.
I remember reading Roma's president was complaining that Salah was not that good when he was with them. Guess he was sore that Salah was only sold for 36 million
No, he’s right, Klopp has improved him. Is Klopp the true top player of Liverpool.

Perfect time to upload a video on salah

That's interesting time to release the video
I still remember when people calling him "one season wonder"
ABSOLUTELY INSPIRING
Love the timing of when this has come out 😅
We really did try and keep him at Fiorentina :( Even if we did he would have left a year later at least..but he would scored many more goals for us!

I live in the city of Mohammed Salah in basyoun
I love this feeling of being in a refined Japanese whiskey bar while listening to Joe Devine teach me things about football.
I remember watching him at FC Basel back in the day and it was very obvious, that he would become a very big footballer one day, unfortunately the move to Chelsea was too big and early at the time, good thing he was loaned to Fiorentina, which probably saved his career.
A good role model on and off the field. Hats off!
yeah that’s why his d pic is going around 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@user-tq8fo9kl5p Clearly not him though is it
@@CharlieThomasMorris it is fake bro .they try everything to tarnish the reputation of a man of dignity
The idea of what he achieved while he came from egypt where no player reached or even close to what he reached anytime + he went to europe not so early is amazing for me as an Egyptian, it's so hard to achieve what he achieved from any point of view
Couldn’t have picked a worse time to post this 🤣🤣🤣
*Couldn't have picked a better time.
FTFY
Salah was a beast at Basel and a lot of Premier League clubs were chasing his signature. Chelsea signed him but it was too early for him and got loaned out to Fiorentina and later sold to Roma to improve his game. Returned to the Premier League with Liverpool and became one the best player in the league and the world. It is a brilliant redemption story for Salah.
Such a wonderful likable footballer.
Great positive role model
Chelsea letting KDB and salah go will forever be painful
The King of football was nurtured in Liverpool the perfect place for the Love any player needs to grow. Long live the King.
@Mason greenwood Really come with that with a Mason Greenwood account. Sure mate.
@Mason greenwood calling everyone who disagrees with you a kid doesnt make you einstein
Salah not winning the Ballon d’Or in 18/19 was a crime against football.
@NMA 55 NIDHIN JOBI yes really.
One of the greatest
Mohammed Salah is the king of Egypt 🇪🇬
Awesome vid as per. Would just like to say that while the thumbnail is beautiful, I actually didn't see the vid in my sub box (I watch every Tifo vid), and was washed out by others. If you had a small 'T' logo on each vid thumbnail, my attention would be drawn ASAP. Not to be arrogant at all just a suggestion.
Wasn’t that long ago that Brentford played Yeovil in the league one play off final. Would love to see a video about what happened to both teams after seeing as the winner is in the prem and the loser is not even in league two
He absolutely deserves the Ballon D'or this year. Lewandowski should have gotten it last time. Messi and Ronaldo are past their prime.
He will not win balloon d'Or although he is the best in the world now and we all know why
Nice timing 😂
He broke a new record: 5 times one season wonder
Talent is nothing without training
Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard enough
cough *Eden Hazard* cough
Cough cough Balotelli
With pogba and salah at madrid
Madrid will again be star studded
I forgot I turned my youtube volume up to full earlier and got my ears blasted by Joe Devine in an Athletic ad. As I lay here with bleeding ear drums, it did sound like a good offer
I packed his toty mention he's insane
also he brings egypt to qualify to world cup finals for the first time since 1990
Wasn't Salah linked with Liverpool when he was at Basel?
AS Roma was obliged by UEFA financial FairPlay rules to sell him. We sold him in June for 50mln €, 1 month after the selling PSG bought Neymar from Barça for more than 200mln € and the prices in the whole European market ended up raising for any footballer
It makes me laugh everytime I'm reminded that Chelsea had both de Bruyne AND Salah and let them both go
Lfc legend
It’s creepy how he brings out so much hate in people when I’ve never seen him do or say anything controversial or bad.
Kind and clean man, and a brilliant footballer, he should be much more universally loved imo
Westerners are doing a great Job demonizing People like Salah who follow a certain Religion
I personally Blame islamophobic Media Outlets
Surely the best in the world
The Egyptian King
His skill isn’t the only thing rising
I’ve seen the vids it doesn’t rise very much

I have to tell you guys, I lived in the Middle-east, Jordan to be exact... there is so much talent on the streets, it's a shame Arabs don't get the spotlight needed for world class 😒
Now do the fall of his friendly rival eden hazard
Salah has a real chance to win the ballon’dor for 2022. Hopefully he wins it with more brilliant play
Newcastle should stop messing around and slap some big money down for Salah in the summer.
