@@loucostabile Actually Lou, a near absolute ROADmasterpiece! I noticed only the center horn button showing some imperfection. But how can one remove 66 years worth of tiny scratches and cracks from that hard clear plastic material? Correct me if I'm wrong. But I think that is even harder than removing dents and rust from metal. That car would probably score a 99.97% at a Concours meet. But you're right. Not even a new car would beat that specimen! Surface rust can start to show up on the underside suspension parts from sitting outside in a new car lot for months. I found that out as a teenager when I looked underneath a "brand" new 1971 Ford in the showroom. And I frankly doubt that car was as spotless back then as it is today, except for the center horn button!

I would agree that 1957 was the apogee of the 1950s for car styling...but the 1960s saw even better overall style and increased handling and powerful engines. Mid-1950s, on thru thru around 1970 was definitely the greatest American car epoch!

Rolling artwork. Just remember that every piece of this car was hand drawn, including every little chrome trim piece on the instrument panel. This car would be considered loaded with options if it were a 1970 model, let alone a 1957 model. The wire wheels are splendid and are indicative of the gorgeous 1950s Buicks. Lovely, lovely car. It is very nice ro see the comments on my car. I will always consider it mine even tho I sold it about 8 years ago. This car was a large part of my life. My father bought it in 1964 for $300 and gave it to me in 1968. I put it in storage for future restoration when I bought a new Nova in 1970. It was in sstorage for about 22 years before I could afford to start the restoration and finished it 2 months after my father died in a traffic accident. He was never able to see it finished. This car received every award I went after including a perfect score at the BCA nationals in Buffalo.

Wow! Now I understand how & why this Gentleman owns some of the finest Buick's I have ever seen! He owned a Dealership for 40 years! That's pure love! No one sells the cars for that long without believing they're great Cars! I worked at the Henderson Pontiac Dealership on 5151 Madison in Chicago during High School summer breaks! Mr. Henderson loved Pontiac's he even told me that GM offered him a Cadillac Dealership! He turned it down! He just loved Pontiac's. Like this Gentleman love's Buick's! Was that color scheme an actual Buick color option? That's pretty out there for "57"! As much as the Midwest Farmers loved their Buick's & Oldsmobile's that were always kept in a garage or barn, used only for church or funeral! That's one color scheme a farmer would not be brave enough to buy! Great Car and video!

This is a brand new 1957 Buick Roadmaster 70 convertible Lou, Wow I can even smell the new leather interior from my computer. GM made only 4066 of these in 1957 at a price of$4363.00, it was quite expensive about the same as a Cadillac coupe which was 4677.00$. This one with those options is probably one of the last ones left. This is a real treat Lou . Thanks

A beautiful example. These luxury cars of the post war period up to some early 1960s examples should be a second class of classics recognized by the Classic Car Club of America. These were more obtainable 1950s/60s versions of the powerful luxury cars of the late 1920s and `30s. While these Buicks, Chryslers, Cadillacs weren't true coach built cars they served to perform and evoke similar status of the pre-war classics. Many were offered in limited numbers and just like their predecessors they are rolling sculpture.

I believe it was only the Buicks that came with those cutout fenders. It's as if they did that on purpose so you could fit your Mickey Thompson drag slicks right in there, no problem. They made nice gassers I'm sure. Thanks for showing us this Lou, it sure is quite the dream. It'd make for a fine Batmobile just the way it is.

My folks purchased a 57 Roadmaster Convertible in Oct/Nov 1956, all white with red leather. Beautiful car, the only trouble with it was my mother never drove it over 40 MPH and the mufflers rotted out pretty frequently, dad finally had glass packs put on, you could here mom coming a mile away. Their previous car was a 53 Buick Special Convertible, also white with red.

Thank you Lou and Dennis for taking us for a ride in the beautiful Buick. I actually remember these cars from my kindergarten years, but never rode in one. Our handyman had one. His wife loved big Buicks and I noticed the 1957 on the front even as a little boy. My aunt's parents had a Dresden blue 1957 Buick Special I remember well. She kept the visor vanity mirror from it that said "Buick is a Beauty too."

Simply beautiful! Yet there is nothing simple about this car. As always, I learn so much from your detail. Right off the bat. I had no idea that it said '1957' in the emblem in the middle of the grill! Those cords on the backseats came in handy...especially with a car that had leather interior. If you didn't hold on, especially in turns, you would slide all over the place. Of course in later years, and probably this one too, there were seat belts, but back then no one used them. They were usually tucked into the seats!
