Given that you've just hydraulic locked your engine (BMW's have ridiculously low air intakes, so you can't go fording in them) and that a new engine (or engine rebuild) will cost more than the value of your car, I suspect that's the least of your concerns...
5:12 "I didn't think it was actually that high"... READ THE FEET BOARDS!!! There's a reason why depth markers are there at fords, it's to let people know how deep the ford is, and therefore whether you've got a chance at making it or not...
Are BMW, Audis not expensive in the UK?
BMW and some Mercedes are just regular cars for most of the UK and EU. They're really only notably expensive in the US and that's only for service and repairs. You can get a fairly low tier BMW at a similar cost to a new Camry. They start in the mid 30ks I believe, although that was a couple years ago and I've since moved jobs away from car dealers
Their driving behaviour in this situation demonstrates a complete ignorance of how ICE vehicles work and their own insurance policy!

No one is making her drive headlong into a lake. Wtf? Apparently they often film and warn and people travel so fast they can’t/ won’t stop. I’d stop. And I’ve got a Landrover. But I’d check it out first!!!!!!!!!
Nah the OP is right they could well have stopped her, she wasn't going as fast as they claimed and some waving arms etc could have least communicated enough a warning for her to stop and ask. ("She drove through so fast" - she was doing about 15mph FFS) Their excuses were extremely weak and don't stand up to much scrutiny.
While everyone is responsible for driving their car through water hazards, basic decency and ethics still have a role to play in the modern world and they definitely let her drive through hoping for content (ie a hydrolocked car). Its pretty grubby behaviour.
@@nickrails I’ll be seeing you there , next time the waters high then? Block the road until we’ve lectured everyone and lifted their bonnet to check air filter intakes? No ones life is in danger, that’d be a completely different matter. My opinion is that as a responsible driver in charge of a car they should have better decision making abilities.
It was about the comments made by the guys filming, "we couldnt have stopped her" "she was going 30" they could have tried to stop her and to make those comments is pretty pathetic tbh and if they think thats 30mph then im worried about the speeds they drive cause that car was going no more than 10mph. So yh like nick said they could have signalled the drive to stop instead they just watched her drown her car amd filmed it for the views laughing at and broadcasting this poor ladys misstake, this isnt like when the cars bomb through Rufford.

if I was going to drive through a body of water like that and I saw a couple guys filming me with their shit eating grins waiting to cross it I'd take the hint and reverse, unless I want to be someone's content.
I feel bad for the Megane driver as they were newly passed. Driving tests and theory don't teach you about fording so that one was innocent mistake.

WE have Dinlows living in Bramley area whos always driving down a flooded lane then wondering why the car is U/S . Common sense should kick in , -Nah Dont feel guilty for these Clowns .
