Interesting letter published in the local paper raises many issues and questions and where is the actual evidence?
With Rufford Ford up for permanent closure due to the alleged 24/7 chaos could the management of the influx of people been handled better by the authorities paid to do so?

People are having fun there and apparently they don’t like that. SMH. It needs to be reopened!
*I used to go there quite a lot during the Summer, circular trip from Birstall to Newark, a walk around the Riverside Park, Stroll into the Town, look around the Market have a Coffee and a Bacon Cob. Back to the Car and a delightful drive through Caunton, Kneesall and Wellow and Park at Rufford Ford Car Park and take my 2 Doggies (Chi-Chi-**-Poos-** Chihuahua x Breed with Chihuahua Dad and Mum x with a Chihuahua/Poodle) around the beautiful lake and onto the Café at Rufford Abbey where we would have a Coffee and a Sandwich etc - no more alas with all the congestion in Ollerton not worth the Hassell - go somewhere else, mostly the Cotswolds only 60 Miles away and a easy drive on good roads.*
whats it done for local businesses, road closings and divertings usualy don't help a lot

Time for the FOI requests and a look at rights of way legislation, really difficult to extinguish a right of way

Closing this road is just a typical example of the nanny state controlling our every move. If people choose to stand by a potentially dangerous road then that's their choice. We don't legislate against people doing bungee jumps, or rock climbing, or paragliding. So why should we legislate against people standing by the side of a road? It may be dangerous, it may not be dangerous. But people should be free to make their own choices. Flying in a commercial aeroplane may actually be more dangerous than standing by Rufford Ford, but they're not going to ban that, are they?

Flooded every day? It’s not even an inch deep in this video, was pretty much always like this
It floods a few times a year
It was an accident waiting to happen when the 10% of people that were going through at high speed
There were gangs of small children at the side of the ford just waiting to be hit by one of the 4x4 that were going through at high speed.
In reality it’s closed because if you tubers filming encouraged people go through at high speed
Show me CZcamsrs encouraging people to go through at high speed and which ones? I never saw anyone there telling people to drive through fast.
The issue is there were no accidents, there were no convictions, there were no injures (apart from the individual that injured themselves on purpose in there)
@@midlifecrisis101xI agree no accidents no injuries but it was an accident waiting to happen. You tubers promoted the ford more people arrived maybe not due to CZcamsrs but many people would visit the ford with their children. And I saw some very near misses 4x4 would have flattened the children into a pulp.
I don’t want the ford closed but once you got the couple of idiots attending then it was destined to close sadly
@@Tube-Shots It comes down to the police and the council not managing the draw to a tourist attraction properly. It was very rare that it would get like you see on the videos, the majority of the time it was so boring there. A simple chicane or speed camera could have sorted any speed issues. Funny thing about that though is when the police spent 4 Sundays there plus another day with a speed gun - they caught no speeders lol.... its all hype and rumor based on CZcams videos put together often over an entire weekend or several days

Get over it. The road is closed. Maybe no accidents but the costs of repairs etc was horrendous, mind you a form of a bridge would help. Is your grouse that it has spoilt your fun filming unfortunates?

Councils shouldn't just be able to close roads as and when it suits them, for whatever reason. These are public rights of way and must be protected at all costs.
