Do the Land Rover owners club see rain and think “Ah yes it is our time to show off our snorkels”.
They probably come from all over the country.
needs to be deeper really for a proper challenge czcams.com/video/RfaB1PLao1U/video.html still gets through
@@guy.h I learnt to drive in a field in one of those... love them!

For about 10 seconds Land Rovers became one of the most reliable cars.
when you get home it will be defective

Legend has it that the BMW driver is still waiting for a tow to this day.
Haha thought the same thing
Can’t believe the amount of people who drove past and didn’t help or just made it worse by going through so fast
Because it's going to cost him more than the car is worth to fix.
The BMW is waiting for a LR to carry him😂😂😂
This poor mans car had flooded so many times.
Each time someone hit the Water with speed some extra water came into the open door of the Car 😂

Why are these vids so enjoyable
It’s the online equivalent of being allowed to jump into puddles while wearing your Wellington boots when you were six.
I’ve been watching them for an hour 😂😂... I came here from cross channel hovercraft videos 🤷♂️
@@nevillebloodybartos I'm binge watching these also. Ooh hovercrafts, I shall go and look at some. This lockdown would be terrible without CZcams.
😂 the kids reactions to the cars splashing 👍🏽
It's just brilliant!! 🤣🤣
This place is like the Nordschleife for wading tests. It should be called the brown hell.
That’s what I call “the morning after eating Mexican food“
Nah...This one is pretty safe. Now the one across the River Loddon Ford near Twyford is a biatch! More than 9 inches deep, and it will sweep you off the road it flows so quickly.
@@EATSLEEPDRIVE2002 Ah...the brown rain. I sympathise.
Nah..Brown hell..and you think about shithole. It is UK so Maybe this name is good.
Anyone else binge watch all of these?
Got the entire box set!! 🤣🤣🤣

All hail the mighty 2nd-Gen Honda Jazz and its surprise submarine abilities :)
А вот crv 3 поколение воды боится
I'm just blown away that there would be a real place on earth that there are people who would dream of driving through water that deep.
Even with a road closed sign and a water depth of 3 feet.
unfortunately stupidity is never in shortage in the UK, surprising to see how many people are willing to risk driving their cars into water like this.
it's a paradox that cars that don't float fare the best, and counter to intuition electric cars will make it everytime (as long as the wheels touch the floor).
a wet dream even
I'd like to see more of the fails and problems afterwards when they've broken down when you can hear them running with bend rods.
Me too, and see their disappointed faces wondering how much their stupidity is going to cost!
As I commented, the Minis steering hydraulic fluid fan hack was probably toast for one, after it's dunking ;)
@@grumpyone5963 insurance write off = negligible cost to the punter
@@z00h I think that intentionally driving into a flood negates any insurance cover anyway.

And on this day every working land rovers in the country were out on the prowl to show their might.
*working* 🤣🤣
and on this day the population of working land rovers almost went extinct.
*now rusting happily away
Tow truck operators best friends.
Working Land Rover is a oxymoron
8:39 knew exactly what he was doing to that BM
6:18, that is a brave little electric car
No air intake or piston rods to bend . . . might go sizzle a little if the battery pack's not properly watertight however.
@@stuinNorway not might, it sure will get sizzled😂😂
More like what a F****** id**t , that’s extremely high voltage right there, like sitting in the middle of a giant toaster and taking a dip. No thanks to that
@@mikewheelermx101 Batteries in modern BEVs are pretty much universally liquid cooled which means they have to be watertight to function. If they weren't sealed properly, you'd probably be experiencing a very toasty car instead of electric shock near water as the car catches fire from Lithium batteries getting too hot.
Your aware the electric wires aren’t as you say ( water cooled aren’t you? ) cars wether electric of combustion are not designed to go through that depth of water, your comment is invalid
Absolutely incredible how little drivers know about crossing (deep) water...and then there are the show-offs!
And I imagine: they live there. The should know. They should have heared from last year.
6:18 is interesting, seeing an electric car go through. Obviously, no intake to suck up water and no chance of flooding the clutch, because there's no gearbox and no clutch either.
It behaved the best :)
Yeah also was wondering if it makes sense to put a hybrid vehicle in ‘Electric’ mode when crossing water. I believe engine would still turn but without combustion so in theory any water that does get in would just get emptied out of the exhaust?
@@Peter-nj5mv I'm not sure how hybrid vehicles work but I'd imagine when in electric mode they disengage the clutch somehow, otherwise the car wouldn't be as efficient. Otherwise you'd be putting energy into turning the engine rather than putting it all into accelerating
@@Peter-nj5mv in terms of keeping the engine safe, I think you'd still hydrolock it, although you might prevent damage as it wouldn't be turning over while full of water. When an engine is hydrolocked you can't usually turn it over, so you'd probably still have to do the usual process of a few oil drains/flushes and draining the water out.
@@Peter-nj5mv engine is stopped in full electric mode
The guy going through backwards was a legend 👍
He knew what he was doing that’s for sure
People certainly love a certain brand of car in that area. Also props to that Jazz🙂
3:22 that’s the smartest drive I’ve seen so far!!
2:50 the same driver but got some water into the air intake so 2nd time more careful 😉
@@mirokopecky that's just the slot for the intake, but they have a snorkel.
2:35 Even the tractor was at risk for some damage; when the radiator fan starts chucking water like that , there’s risk of it a)breaking, breaking the belt, or completely breaking off its bearing and going through the radiator
Respect to the L200 driver at 3:05- perfect example of how to ford a river- very nicely done - only to ruin it all at 3:52. Personal favourite are the van drivers who all seem to think they're invincible!
Yeah what a moron should've drowned his electrics
They are company vars so they don't really care, do you want a reliable car? Buy a van because they are designed so it can withstand the workers who push the gas pedal to the floor 90% of the time... Vans might be the most abused vehicles on planet earth
I was going to comment on that perfect example until he ruined it the second time lol
@@mariodukay2069 now try a Polish Iveco or Renault truck
I own a van of the same brand and make than I've seen BOTH pass multiple times AND get wrecked. Yes, these vans have a very high air intake, but that won't protect you if you believe you're a racing ship and go so fast that your wave covers your entire hood.
The guy with the little chopped in half one makes me laugh
Opens door at 4:13? Letting the water out maybe?
I love how they are cheering for those who successfully crossed and the BMW parked waiting for a tow.😂

2:10 the power of dreams!!!💪💪💪
That BMW got battered! 🤣
Fair play to the little jazz.
Taking the ‘short cut’ through the ford shaves about a minute off your journey time with the added benefit of potentially wrecking your car
😂
Dumb ppl and sheep
No Land Rovers were harmed in the making of the videos or compilation... but that BMW looked as if it had some big bills coming.
Rufford Ford has a massive kill streak of BMW’s from what I’ve seen on other vids
The main actors of BMW genocide are the BMW drivers. The brand by itself is okay
Big land rovers thought they were the kings until little Honda jazz came along 😂
The Ford transits and merc sprinters love to suck up water.
The manufacturers try to help by putting the air intake all the way up the top of the bonnet, all the driver has to do is slow down but nooo
@@mattmanix5104 I was going to say the same thing. The intake on my Transit is well over 4 feet from the ground. If the water isn't over the front of the bonnet its not going in. Then you see these muppets hitting it at 20+ and wondering why the van stops.
Back in the 1970's we used to stand in the same spot, great times ......lol
That jeep drove through backwards, probably to keep as much of that water as she could from hitting the engine and getting it so wet.....and it worked!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
As a BMW owner this video is utterly humiliating! 🤣😂
Love the way the Honda Jazz just sails through it no problem at 2:05 never underestimate the reliability of a Japanese car!
Hardly
Mainly because it has an air intake on the backside of the motor.
Cars that mainly sold in asia have some consideration to tackle flooded road when developed.
less electronic parts in the engine
Zero to do with reliability.
I love how even the children watch this spectacle. It's so entertaining
Deti tam od šťastia vykrikujú, keď si niekto zničí auto. To sa ti páči? Odstavil by som auto na kraji cesty a nahádzal tie šťastné deti do vody. A debilných rodičov za nimi.
At least they are in the fresh air and not getting into mischief.
I love how everyone watches, like it's the community hub or something.
The JCB is epic
You definitely deliver the best Rufford Ford contents out of anyone .
Definitely the best, should be the official
I'm reluctant to say the guy in reverse is smarter but to a degree he at least knows a bit about his vehicle and general physics.
First you wonder whether he's smarter and then you say that he is. Which one of these?
@@Phoenix_cataclysm_in_2040 since you obviously believe that knowing a bit about a vehicle and physics is what is necessary to be considered smart then I will just allow you to draw your own conclusion. Knowing a "bit" can be dangerous. I do know that. I also know bit is a very general term. For instance one could live a bit but it's impossible to die a bit in literal terms. We could talk a bit more about absolutely nothing but let's leave it at this.

Two things spring to mind watching this video, one i absolutely want a Defender, and two total respect to the guy in the Hyundai Ioniq EV!
"best moments" vids should be kept for the idiots who fail to get through lol
There's no joy seeing a 4x4 getting through but soooooo much pleasure seeing idiots getting their cars trashed!

8:34 me turning round love that
Great video, and nice to know that Focuses... err, Focii, float
this is just as good as the 11.8ft bridge videos !
Going backwards is a really good idea because the wave of water doesn't go over air intake.
But the water will enter the exhaust pipe and damage the cat and 02 sensors.
@@JDMEXforme it's better than kill or damage the engine.
It’s almost like the locals remove the cones and move the road closed signs, than start filming!!! Hahaha.
not far wrong, the signs and cones never get moved in a timely manner so as soon as it's dropped enough someone shifts them - then it rains again and nobody puts them back and the unsuspecting see there's no cones and think it's fine
@@lisahughes8212 - Makes sense! So many more would get through if only they would slow down,,, haha. You can see some people, especially off-roaders, just get the water to build up front creating a pressure wave, but not so much it comes over, or into the engine compartment. That’s the perfect speed it’s slightly different for each vehicle, but once that water is 3 feet deep, every vehicle that’s not modified for fording water is at risk,,,,. Too bad, because a few of these people probably had to rebuild or replace their motors. Ouch!
Thanks s much for explaining this to me!!
