    I ride a set of 24mm ones of Hope for 10!!! Years without replacing it... Says a lot about quality. Also 3 years a set of hope wheels without issues

    hi, how has the durability been with this bracket, I'm getting tired of buying the shimano ones lol

      Hi Michael, I find the durability great on the 30mm ones, Wheels Manufacturing also make a good bottom bracket.

    Hi
    Are you sure about the seal ring installation? I wonder if the flat face should rather go in front of the bearings

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 3 lety

      It works both ways, I did find if I use the flat face over the bearing it would rub off the green from the seal.

  • @ThunderStruckMTB
    @ThunderStruckMTB Před 7 lety +2

    Why no bearing/spindle sleeve? My BB shell is always coated with dirt whenever I check my BB, and without the sleeve the bearings would be toast in a couple months at best.

    • @coldo1888
      @coldo1888 Před 5 lety

      The 30mm bearings sit outside the bb shell that's why you don't need a sleeve

    How will I know if I need to use the spacer rings ?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 6 lety +2

      Yan Mills Hi, generally you will need to use one on the drive side, I always start with one then check and add more if needed.

    Is it save installing bottom bracket in frame without tube bb? I mean from dirt, water, mud, etc

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 4 lety

      It depends if your bike frame has an open BB design, my frames all have sealed BB's so have no need for a tube.

      I'm not aware of any from Park but the OSBB "HP" from Abbey Bike Tools works www.abbeybiketools.com/collections/tools/products/bottom-bracket-socket-osbb-hp

    It says stainless I'm assuming that is the ball bearings and the body is made of aluminum?

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 2 lety

      Yes that's correct.

    • @AnotherMrLizard
      @AnotherMrLizard Před měsícem

      Races and balls are steel in a SS MR2437 bearing used on hope.

  • @coldo1888
    @coldo1888 Před 5 lety

    There is no need for a sleeve because the 30mm bearings sit outside the bb shell and the spindle should spin WITH the bearings not On them so there should be no wear on the spindle aside from where the bearings are seated

  • @Phen0mable

      @@jedmtb I got GX SRAM boost crank 30mm spindle. Spindle goes through BB no problem but It gets jame tight and crank wont spin as I tight up that 8mm nut. Then there is no clearance for crank it hits frame. I posted that hope bb back and went with dub instead

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 4 lety

      @@Phen0mable SRAM don't make 30mm cranks they only make DUB ones which are 29mm just to make things confusing for everyone, glad you got it sorted :)

      @@jedmtb they do. Look up sram gx bb30 its 30mm spindle
      then they do dub 28.99 and standard size

    • @jedmtb
      @jedmtb  Před 4 lety +2

      @@Phen0mable I should have said they don't make 30mm cranks which work with external threaded BB like the hope as the axle is too short because the BB30 uses press fit.

    2:14 - I thought same thing: "Hey, I can use the old TL-FC32 to install my BSA30." Wheels MFG. didn't send me a wrench, but I goddamn well bought American, just can't install American until I buy another $20 dollar wrench that I will most likely never use again. Good on Hope for including the wrench if that was the case.

  • @achn2b
    @achn2b Před 7 lety +1

    the 30mm spindle basically takes up all the space inside the BB shell. There is no room for a sleeve.

    • @forestyforest
      @forestyforest Před 7 lety

      the RaceFace bb30 has a sleeve... but it doesn't help, the bottom bracket is widely known to be a piece of crap. I wonder if this Hope version is any better?
