The wider narratives of that season fed into it as well, with an epic title fight and Jordan's season of two halves. As an unapologetic Damon fangirl - even now - this is one of the best, and craziest, races of all time.
What rarely gets mentioned is that despite the carnage at the start, and insane accidents later on, barring unreported (to the public) inevitable bumps and bruises, no one was injured. Not too many years before that, there would have been - at the very least - a number of hospitalisations. _That_ weekend in '94 (the one I hate remembering for obvious reasons) was only a few years before. Most of the drivers at Spa had been there. I would be _very_ surprised if no one had some sort of flashback or nightmare, during that moment, the race, or after it had all ended and they had physically moved on.
