You are wrong in taking it for granted. It's a well known fact that much water (and it's been known to happen with less) can easily erode the ground underneath the road surface. Once that happens the pavement WILL COLLAPSE and more ground will be eroded away. Then no matter what type of vehicle you're in would at the very least get stuck or easily be turned over in the water. Then you drown. Is it really worth dying for???
I once crossed a flooded road, the water did damage the road. Sunk past the top of my hood bud gladely my engine didnt hydro-lock up. I was in a lifted truck with 35". 😥
I was out and about when Harvey hit I’ve seen atleast 4 bridges collapse 2 of the bridges I went thru in my boat that I shouldn’t have even been able to go thru
During Harvey only wranglers and Rovers were going over 3 feet, I have a Rover all I saw in the deep water areas were wranglers and some Rovers. They are made for this!
Not really. Some city's flood all the time. I should know I live in Houston and NY car got flooded so I got a Jeep with a 4inch lift. It saves the day.
I work at Hobby airport and was working when the storm got real bad. By the time I was able to leave work there was nearly 2 feet of water in the intersection between the airport and the hotel I was staying at. Was still sketch in my Bronco and its stock on 31's.
Its terrifying witnessing in the moment events like that happen..However its so blissful being prepared and able to overcome those obstacles....''Damn nature you scary''

Mike M exactly what I was thinking too when he got out near the gas station.. like if I just fell into 10ft of water cause part of the road caved in lol. I've done kinda deep stuff when it's flooded where I live but not in like whole huge areas like that, you never know with that shit like you said.
Balls the size of planet Earth but brain the size of a pea , with the water over the bridge you can't see if it's been washed away or cracked then all it needs is the weight of a vehicle on it then down you go ooowww dear God, the lorry driver had sense.
I always made fun of my dad for owning a jeep but after he showed up in his jeep to get me and my mom out of her flooding house I can say that made me team jeep.
You know Prius probably can drive through DEEP water as well right??? As long as it uses its electric motor. Plenty of Tesla sedans went through deep water as well...as long as it isn't raging deep water...
@@BernonCarsPrius and Tesla can go through some DEEP water. As long as it uses the electric motor...which doesn't need air to run...and as long as the deep water isn't flowing or raging...

that is greenhouse, literally right before the hwy. you even see the water plant and the school zone sign... if you need more proof, what does the sign look like it says at 2:13 it aint saums

I would've made the same trip for some Krispy Kreme also.
nothing wrong with driving though that water but the integrity of that bridge would scare me.

2 weeks later....dude why we having to replace the front and rear axles....duurrr..must have been the water that got into the gear oil .
There is a tube that allows air and such to get in... we have an extension to all 4 of them that hooks up to the snorkel on our jeep.
There is a vent cap at the diff breather...the cap would prevent water from getting in. Unless the cap is completely gone...
The 18 wheeler would go through that no problem loaded.
Actually 18 wheelers can go through way way DEEPER flood than that Jeep...and 18 wheeler weighs MUCH MORE than a Jeep anyway....
