- There have always been easter eggs within Jeeps, but what about hidden features that they don't want you to know about / aren't widely known on the Jeep Wrangler? On my moms 2022 Jeep Wrangler Willys, there are several cool hidden features/easter eggs that many people (including myself) didn't know about! The rear compartment is also a cooler. You can fill it with ice and there's a drain plug on the bottom.
For the anti theft, you have to unplug the doors and you have to lock it and wait a minute or so. It takes a second to cycle the alarm.
My Jeep starts with the doors off while locked. Maybe I’m doing something wrong

Drain plug floor mats is the greatest thing EVER.
Been dumping my TJ mats through the hole for years. Was blown away when I actually set up the mats in the JL. WOW

There's about 8 drain plugs, including under your tire jack.
The "hidden storage compartment" looks like a good place to leave a gps tracker for in case the can is stolen.
2024 comes with the tracker on the app! works well in case you forget where you park also.
The panel at 3:30 is to protect the adaptative cruise control sensor (behind the internal rear-view mirror) when the windshield is down.
It is always a good idea to refer to the owners manual.

Another hidden feature is the fact that you will spend a good amount of money to accessorize your jeep. I noticed your Mom has the color matching aluminum ac control knobs. My green ones arrived today.

In addition to the area in the back where you can store the screws...that comes out and underneath is a car Jack and tire iron to change your tire with. If you look to the left of the panel with the screw holes....there is a lift clip

The most unusual feature I was confused about was the velcro straps on the back of the back seat. Had to break out the owners manual to find out where they connect to hold the back seat in the forward position.
Ha! Don't say men will never read the owner's manual because I had a SCAG Commercial lawn mower that was getting harder and harder to start so after 28 years I pulled out the manual and learned that I should pull the rope until the piston was just past Top-Dead-Center then give it the pull to start. All was fine after that.

Just got a 2023 4xe Rubicon 2 days ago. I didn't know about the drain plugs or that those holes were for the bolts.

Unplug the drain hole plugs so your all-weather mats can sit flat.
Disconnected the wire for the door on both sides than lock the jeep it won't start un less you unlock it

Really wished the 12v power stayed on in the cig lighter, this was a handy feature in my older Ford Escape when charging cell phones.

IN the swing gate on a 2020 JLu there is a rubber grommet above the lock mechanism on the right side of the inside of the swing gate? What is it there for?

I think you have to disconnect the wires in the doors to make the engine unable to start even when someone has your key or your key is close to the vicinity but within a certain time limit.
The drain plug is for when your door seal leaks whenever it rains! Have had mine out since I had 2in of water after all the door seals were replaced under warranty

Mine didn’t come with a physical owner’s manual. Just a DVD with it on there. But not everyone buys their vehicles new and get one with it.
The 2x is to lock doors (doors closed) then hold the 2x button for two seconds (maybe a second more) and the engine will start.

Also if you go on the outside of your Jeep and look down the driver's side you'll see the circle and it's got a little cap in the middle if you take that cap and press down and turn to the left it pops off and you can put fuel in right there All you got to do is put the fuel cap back on when you're done and if you look on the inside of your Jeep you realize right in the middle of your wheel if you push that down there's a horn

I'd suggest if you're going to do any off roading to take your carpet out and rhino line the inside of your jeep, then in the winter if you want extra insulation to put the carpet back in, bc that carpet is going to smell, Food for thought there!

To disable the key fob you need to unplug the doors and that panel pulls off to the seats not to the pedals
In the back where the speaker was usually is a storage compartment. There is a plug so you let out water if you wanted to use the compartment as a cooler with ice.

This guy is cool just like my new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I purchased it because it fits my needs of just running around. No off road stuff for me. I am 71 years old and just enjoy going from a truck to a jeep.
I’m 72 and loving off roads, get off your ass and enjoy off roads that’s what a Jeep is for, or buy a Prius.

My dealership mechanic said there's a known defect with door and hood hinges. They corrode under the paint and create what look like warts between the hinges and paint. Cost-free repair! Check it out.
If you have the 7 inch display you cant change the theme :(

Wow, I like this young man! He explained some things I certainly did not know. I just purchased a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon fully loaded. I am an older person (71) and purchased it because it looks cool and fits my needs of just running around. It will never go off road so I do not need it for that.

ENJOY :) Not taking it off road is actually VERY common. Don't let anyone dis you for having a "mall crawler". I take mine off road all the time. Store parking lots, my driveway, and don't forget the fast food drive thru Have a great day

3:30. I guess you can hide one or two USB key there, a chip or a some small batteries etc..
The plug in the floor comes out, the matt plugs into the hole and the plug in the floor plugs the matt.. then you can hose or clean the matt's out in the jeep so you don't mess up your seats.
For the key fob not to work you need to remove the doors or unplug them. Than when you hit the lock on the key fob them get in the Jeep and hit the start button it will not start. But if you push the start button with the key fob it will start like most cars with a key fob. The reason is dead key fob battery work around. Now why the key fob won’t work with the door off but after you locked the Jeep more than likely it is not looking for the key fob it is waiting for the key fob to send out a longer range signal. And why the lock thing doesn’t work when you tried it easy it knows the door was open so it was not really locked and if you unlock the door with the real key and the Jeep knows it open it arms the computer and wait for you to push the start button with your dead fob but it knows the fob is not dead because it is picking up the radio waves from it. Now if it is dead there is a nfc chip in the key fob on the side away from the key ring. So now you know.
You know how to change the radio turn off, like ( with the doors) you turn the jeep off and then the radio turn off as soon you open the doors.
I want to change it like, (without the doors) you turn your radio off and I want the radio to turn off immediately.

That fuse controls the cargo 12V cigarette plug (the one located in your trunk), one fuse position is to make it powered with the car start and other position of the fuse is for always powered on plug.

My 2021 Rubicon with the 7" doesn't have it either. Been searching around and found that it seems to be some kind of update that our UConnect got that removed them. They even had them in some 2018s from what I've gathered.

The doors have to be disconnected (off) for the lock feature not starting. Just a security measure.

@@BJPLIFESTYLE you need to remove the carpet piece then press that piece that sits over it into the slot until it clicks. You should have a drain plug to put over it. I would upload a pic of mine but can not in comments.
What Ace meant is that after you pull that piece of carpet out. You pull the drain plug and the mat is pushed down into the hole previously occupied by the drain plug. The mat has a seal and then the drain plug goes into the hole in the mat.
