Might be worth mentioning that you need over 1/2 a tank of fuel for the vehicle to restart, otherwise thanks for the video it was a great help doing mine.

For anyone watching this, there are 2 other videos on youtube on how to do this and between this one and the other 2 all the details needed to do this will be in them all. This video has a few details the others don't and vise versa so I recommend watching all 3 so you are fully prepared.

Only after watching another video on the r53 filter, did I see where this should go.

I did same in my r52S 2005 166000km. I want to use ethanol. I missed to correctly assemble the two parts and the pressure was 0 inside the injector common rail. Had to dismount. Turn contact 3 times and pompe at the left side must change her noise with pressure increasing. The filter is so big that it is not useful to change except for ethanol.

Try to only have 1/4 of a tank of gas. Remove the gas cap to take the pressure off the system. Open all the windows. Don't make any sparks by dropping wrenches.

Honestly I had the same issue. You need to make sure the gasket is fully seated. Then put the rest of the filter housing in slowly trying not to hit the side. Key is to go slow.

When you say the big washer "goes along the rim here" at around the 6:12 mark, the camera doesnt show it. Does it go round the bottom, from where you fished it out, or on the lip most of the way up? Also, what about the massive blue gasket?

Maybe one of your o rings or seals was installed improperly or you didn't seat the fuel filter on right, or it could just be a random coincidence. Also you might not have tightened the top on all the way or put a part on wrong.

Did you try to prime the system? Fit the key in the on position as if your trying to start it. It should take about 30 seconds. If that doesn’t work then one of your seals was not set properly. You meet pressure in the tank for your car to start.

Timing chain got replaced at 80,000, and turbo got replaced at 60,000, caltalitic converters we’re going out when I sold the car. All and all i put $5000 in almost 1 year. If I were you.
