@@wikzy.7966 wtf
Why
Bottomless Pit's identity is that it's fucking awesome.
Its my personal favorite Death Grips album
Why are you by the time I get to Phoenix but blue
yeah why are you By The Time I Get To Phoenix but blue
idk if you already know this but you are by the time i get the phoenix but blue
I saw Death Grips on their tour with Ministry, and EVERY SINGLE PERSON was there for Death Grips. They played first, completely tore the house down, and by time Ministry took the stage, half the audience was gone. Wise decision though, Ministry sounded awful live and the album they were promoting is their worst one yet.
@Wusu Wima hahahah yes
Nope, Cleveland.
Barry, Colin I was at philly, shit was hillarious
Damn :/ I love both bands a lot, ministry's gotta step up their game
those kids missed out on the pit filled with energetic drunk 40 year olds, easily one of the best nights of my life
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is a great deep discog
They have so many distinct and GREAT ALBUMS
if he'll do a DDD on them it'll be very interesting.
YESSSS
Yessir. Unpopular opinion, but murder of the universe is probably my favorite. People complain about the narration, but I absolutely love it.
@@DavidMartinez-sp9ll It's intersting. Not my favorite by them, but still solid.
would be amazing!
You should do a DDD episode on King Dedede. He has a kick ass theme song
i endorse this statement
The 90’s Kirby Drama CD
you mean Mario Wario Lucario?
Dedede DDD
I laughed way harder than I should've at "Master of Ceremonies" Ride
that’s what MC stands for
@@tuckerjones920 FUCK NO WAY REALLY?!?!?! 😱😱😱🤯🤯🤯🤯😮😮🤩🤩😤😤😤
NLDW is criminally underrated in my opinion. Some of the ways the band uses the absence of sound or removal of elements is genius and makes listeners uncomfortable in the best way. Almost Scott Walker Bisch Bosch level.
"Criminally underrated" its like their second most popular album what the fuck are you on about
I GOT THE NASTY IN MY TAXI
NLDW and NOTM are my favs. At least lately. Still pissed that I didn't get a VinylMePlease NLDW. I have been a member since the fishscale repress, and I didn't even hear about it.
Around 2014, NLDW was originally my favorite with its theming and brutal sound design, plus I think it's still a (personally) strong pick for having their best album closer. Artificial Death in the West is one of their few melancholic songs while still being a good dance track. I think they never really neared that same vulnerable strain in writing or timbre until 2.5 years later with On GP
Bruh you forgot to talk about Steroids
Gradono so mad
nah he mentions it, but he didnt actually say anything about it
crouching
tiger
hidden
gabber
megamix
didnt even call it “the first half of the powers that b”
Bottomless Pit is my favorite, but I certainly understand where you're coming from on it. I find it one of the best "Victory Lap" kind of albums. It's Money Store songwriting with the intensity of The Powers That B (moreso Jenny Death).
Solid commentary!
Hard agree
Me too. bottomless pit is really underrated imo
I always got it more as aggressiveness of No Love Deep Web mixed with the more guitarish sound of Jenny Death
It’s easily their catchiest album, every song is a banger
@@jackely3300 THREE BEDROOMS IN A GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD ON FIRE LIKE A MARGARITA MADE OUT OF WOOD
Bottomless Pit is definitely their most slow burn of an album in regards to how you may feel about it over time. My initial thoughts when it came out reflected yours, but going back to listen to again and again throughout the years, I've come to appreciate and respect the clean beats they produced with that album. I would say it's their most listenable production to date, and I put it in high regards.
NotM is still their best work tho
The ending of Big Dipper gets me emotional every time.
Bottomless Pit is my personal favorite Death Grips album
I agree 100%
No love for deep web no love smh
@@ericbacon8864 that title track is perfect
that opening skit was the _the Money Store_ of opening skits
No Steroids review, 0/10
(Nah for real, probably one of my favorite DDD's yet, heart eyes)
Just a few things, DG was never signed to Warp Records (Harvest Records puts out a lot of their material) and really Zach is just as heavy into the production and writing as Andy. Wouldn’t really relegate Zach to just their “drummer.”
Anyone notice how not only does he look like deep cuts But his videos are like deep cuts for people with less patience.
niceeeeeeee
"A section dedicated to music for... lovers of music (with no patience)"
Emiliano Aguirre there you gooo
He replaced Oliver’s patience with memes
i feel like bottomless pit was interesting mostly because it was the heaviest album they've ever made, even compared to the powers that B? there're songs on there that feel like they took influence metal more than hip hop. That's the main reason i find it so interesting. although i do still think the powers that b is their best album most likely.
I can’t deny, this sick transmission definitely huffed my brain. Glad you got to them.
Next time when DDD comes out I’ll definitely not forget to watch it.
The Powers that B is probably the best album I’ve ever listened to.
agreed
The simplicity and rawness of No Love Deep Web is unparalleled imo. Also Ride's storytelling on the album is accessible whilst maintaining mystique and aggression. But I love N***as on the Moon almost as much. Great vid.
Doors and windows: on

BEEP BEEP BEEP
@@JK-gm6kk sleeves
One of the only bands I like in which they not only have more than one 10/10 but I genuinely can't pick a favorite from them
It's usually the last one I listen to
Bottomless Pit is my favorite but NOTM, TMS, and NLDW are so damn good it's hard to call them the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best
I gotta suggest some artists that weren't on the poll: Nico, Nick Drake, Can, Faust, Vashti Bunyan, Van der Graaff Generator, Tyrannosaurus Rex and/or T. Rex, Pentangle
Syfoll I recently came across vashti Bunyan, been a huge nico fan obviously for a long time. Vashti made some beautiful stuff and seeing u mention her is gonna get me to keep listening to her discography and reading about her
@@matthewevans3718 2 incredibly talented ladies. What are your 5 favourite songs from them?
Syfoll absolutely love everything on some things just stick in your mind album, and I’ve listened to a little bit of diamond day but not much of it. For nico, I love everything she’s done with VU of course and then I liked a few of her songs off marble index, but that’s all I’ve checked out from her standalone stuff
@@matthewevans3718 You gotta go to Desertshore and The End. They're absolutely incredible
Syfoll I will, thank you for the suggestions. Idk anyone in person who shares the same tastes in music as me besides one or two that like death grips and like one or two I’ve converted to the Brian Jonestown massacre, haha so it’s very much appreciated to get suggestions from ppl like u
Deep discog dive : Sonic Youth would be great
Yes yes yes
I (insert number here) that. I've only listened to three of their albums so far, and I'm already hooked.
I hope at somepoint you cover public image ltd, Johnny rotten of the sex pistols anti rock band
thank you for adding tmbg and ween to the poll, you're a hero.
TPTB is definitely my favorite DG project
as well. From the vibrant ride of emotions of NOTM (The ending of the song Big Dipper is just pure perfection), to the hard hitting start and the grand yet melancholic ending of Jenny Death really makes for a truly legendary and memorable musical experience. Keep up the great work.
I find it kind of weird that you didn't actually talk about why they released No Love Deep Web via bittorrent despite their label. Kind of an important point and facet of their history I think.
DG historian, over here.
Might I suggest The Mars Volta...They have a good sized discography. However, I think they start of smoking hot and cool as they go on.
idk why but the camera angles are really good it feels really comfortable and ur voice fits amazing, good work .continue bro
Great video as always! Just voted for a few artists, including him, but wanted to give a special big shout out to and request for Tom Waits, mainly for having such a wildly varied back catalogue with such a strong stylistic progression, musically and personally/theatrically. I've just revisited some of my favourite songs from his different eras and it's always such a wild ride as his sound morphs across the decades
I have been personally of the opinion The Powers That B is basically a 10/10 for a while now and seeing anyone else say it's probably Death Grips' best is amazing, thank you for the validation.
As a Death Grips enthusiast I feel it is my duty to inform you of Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)
ReplacedByDrumbot best 25 minutes of death grips imo
Matthew evans my whole life my whole FUCKIN life
Hey just wanted to say that i really like seeing a content creator like yourself interacting so much with your community even if it seems like its too much (good idea with the poll btw) but keep up the good work!
EinarK car seat is awesome
You should totally do one on queens of the Stone Age. I think they have the most consistently well done albums
6:32 this part was hilarious 😂 Great video man keep making more of these DEEP DISCOG DIVE 🙏
The editing in this video is phenomenal! Really engaging and never gets too stagnate. Good job!
Great video! Can't believe it's been 8 years since I first heard TMS and No Love. Most impressive band of the decade imo. Very influential and one of the first to bring a punk attitude to hip hop.
This is my favorite musical series on yt, congrats man your content is awesome, I'm watching from Romania so you've gone international, you deserve to hit 1 million subs P.S. I voted for Tom Waits in the poll, hope you'll cover him at one point, he's like my favorite artist
I honestly wouldn't mind listening to the entirety of the relaxing meditational version of Beware tbh lmao
Yesssss that Lighthouse shot your taste jumped out my king
You’ve gotta do a video on pavement. The lyricism and sound play on all of their records is so off the wall but so casual at the same time that really makes a listening experience like no other. Definitely listen to the deluxe versions of the albums as well as their B-sides are equally as good
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!!! SO GOOOD
great video as always, always love watching what you put out, certainly one of my favorite channels on the website.
You did a deep discog dive of death grips, you've got *my sub!*
Having gotten to the end of the video, I also see that we are in perfect alignment regarding Death Grips albums, Ex-Military, The Money Store, and The Powers That B are exactly my three favorites, as well. My choice to subscribe has been reinforced. Good job, sir!
Nice job man, nice editing and I agree with your opinions
I subscribed because this guy pronounced Bjork's name correctly. That is a rare an much appreciated feat. It shows commitment to accuracy and attention to detail. Thank you, good sir!
I completely agree with you on The Powers That B being their best work, however I think up my sleeves is their best song. Because just listen to it. It feels like eavesdropping MC Ride's psych ward therapy session. His emotions are extremely raw both lyrically and in the way he... "sings"? in the song. It's not only their best sounding song, it's MC Ride's purest performance.
His performance on that song is simply absurdly good.
I would give a kidney and both testicles, if they would play the whole thing live, but they always segue into another song before the second verse, for reasons unknown. Many have speculated that it's just too personal of a verse to do, and It's actually even more special on the album for this reason, now that I think about it. I love it so fucking much too.
You should do a dive on Black Flag. They are one of the most influential punk bands of all time, and have changed their sound pretty drastically after their first full-length 'Damaged'.
if you do car seat headrest, disjecta membra is harder to find but is ABSOLUTELY essential. The Nervous Young Men albums from before the project started would also definitely help the listening experience and they’re all on youtube (as is disjecta membra).
Dude that Lighthouse reference with get got in the background made me laugh for too long
Id like to hear your thoughts on the manic street preachers discography. It’s really interesting how they change musically and there is a lot to talk about lyrically too.
Great video, man!
Good vid but if y'all ain't know, DG did a song with Les Claypool of Primus fame. Name is More Than the Fairy and it's a confirmed bop.
I’d love to see a deep discogs dive on beach house, their discography can be pretty polarizing and I love how everyone has different opinions on their best/worst albums but everyone can universally agree that bloom is a masterpiece, and teen dream is also leagues above everything else but not quite bloom
Do a DDD on Justice. Genesis is super under appreciated album with fresh sounds that still sound good today
Dope video. Blink182 might be a good suggestion, I'm too lazy to find the poll
I was listening to the entire Death Grips discography again yesterday
Every Tyler the Creator album would be great.
Great stuff. Checked out the poll. Jeesh! You, Needledrop, The Sound Binge (who did reply to me to say SY had the strongest discography of many acts), deep cuts - none of you doing Sonic Youth! I've heard promises, but none delivered. And now, not even on your poll. Did not one folk even suggest them. It could be true. But I don't believe it. ps. Love your content x
Yo, please do a DDD on Aphex Twin. He's been my favorite for a long time, I'd love to hear your takes on his work.
One band you didnt inslude in your pollwhich I’d love to see is Alice In Chains. I would love if you could do one on them
Can you do one for janelle monae or siouxsie and the banshees? Or maybe st vincent?
Edit : Or also maybe andrew bird?
10:44 Hey now, you're an experimental, industrial hip hop, electro, punk, noise, digital hardcore, punk rap, rock star
I think an episode on Modest Mouse would be great, so far nothing like that exists on CZcams and they have a huge following. Been itching to see a video on their albums as a whole
Great video! +1 sub
1:50 damn, they really shouted out sasha grey as a musical influence. honestly, I can really hear it in their earlier cuts
7:04 You can't just make video about Death Grips without mentioning their cult leader
A DDD on the Boredoms would be cool.
Haven't seen many people talking about them
People need to talk more about the year of the snitch, that album is so cool I think it will get more coverage as when death grips continues to drop new projects and TYOTS isn’t their last, I do think it’s one of DG bests albums
Deep Discog Dive: Pavement!!
Powers that B is also my favorite, it show cases the full spectrum of death grips imo
Bottomless pit is my favorite and probably one of the most accessible. The hooks are what got to me, but the synths too aaaaaaaaah. It does have an unique identity in my opinion
What is your top 5? Mine is:
5) Steroids
4) Bottomless Pit
3) Gmail and the Restraining Orders
2) Silly Guys on the Moon
1) Interview 2016
i like how in the career review you just show anthony fantano
DDD is my favorite thing on CZcams
Dude u should do a review on elder island, phenomenal band
I don't know much about Death Grips, but Zach Hill was part of an album with Omar, Cedric, and Juan from the Mars Volta called Cryptomnesia. I love the Mars Volta, but it's not an easy record to listen to. Though I have a feeling Death Grips fans would get a kick out of it
or its the Deep Discog Dive Decision
For me, No Love Deep Web is this sort of deep nightmare world of an album and I think for that, it's my favorite.
2:05
Last DDD: DAMN WHAT A GOOD ASS RECORD
wait there's an album with bjork and death grips?! How did I not hear about this? I'm going to listen to it now
Great work as always.
I know steroids isn't a full length, but I consider it by far their best work. It's like Atari Teenage Riot on well... steroids. What is your opinion of that album?
ok thank you, a loooot of people hype up bottomless pit and i really liked it a lot, but like i still don’t see it how people think it’s better than most of their other records, especially TMS and TPTB.
this is epic
I just come back everytime for the transitional music.
you're wholesome take disturbs me - darth grips
twas just abt to comment to do kate bush before i saw the poll now i like. really need it.
Would love to see a car seat headrest dive
but wha bout Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber Megamix)
Bottomless pit definitely has its own identity. Less samples but somewhat harder than the money store with guitars and stuff
Please do Yung Lean + Draingang! I'd vote on the poll but its not an option:((
Government plates and NOTM are goated
So I'm new here and late to the party, but you clearly messed up, the poll should've been called

EZ Clap, you can steal that.

Yea fr powers that b is outta this world
i can’t be the only one who thought the censored bar was apart of the cover.
Do a Deep Dive into all 27 of Mark Kozeleks studio albums
You need to use Guy Fieri saying "welcome to triple d" at some point. Also you should add Smog/ Bill Callahan to the next triple D poll
If you'd like a challenging dive, try Death's Dynamic Shroud. 15 albums and 1 live album. Good luck.
Coming back to this vid to comment on system blower off TMS sounding like the “legalize nuclear bombs” meme
