Rather shocked by the Garrison Brothers hate. They are outstanding to me. Oh well, to each their own.

To be honest, it's not that we necessarily hate it. It's just not really our profile. The price is where it really falls off a cliff. I (Ben) saw Balmorhea at total wine today for 220 and the single barrel for 115. Is there a particular expression from them you would recommend? Thanks for watching!

This is fantastic Bourbon! Yes it's expensive but one bottle won't kill your wallet. The Cowboy Bourbon is better. Also, how do you not know this is a double Oaked Bourbon before you start the video? @ the bourbonnote

Would like to have watched a “Blind Tasting” from you. Almost like you were trying to talk yourself out of liking this pour. Balmorhea is a unique bourbon that should really only be compared to other double oaked choices.

    I think it’s pronounced Bal-more-ay

You know my stance on GB...admittedly, I haven't had Balmorhea but to answer Greg's question "What is their $30 bourbon like" . It's like a 375 ml boot flask that tastes like what they sweep up off the floor of a Texas Roadhouse steakhouse at night. $115? Are you kidding? LOL, Too hot out in Minnesota...It was 106 in my car the other day when I was leaving!

Yeah, well over priced! Are there hard-core GB fans out there somewhere??

210$ a bottle in the West

They are NO WHERE near Houston, they are in the Texas Hill Country, west of Austin. Pronounced Bal-more-Ray. The issue with Garrison Bros 1) Expensive 2) Has a very oak and Charred flavor. The Texas Heat does crazy things to the Bourbon. My favorite Texas Bourbon that somehow avoids these issues is Still Austin

Nice, Fair review guys. To be honest I’ve never had the Balmoreha, probably because it sounds a venereal disease, LOL. As I say, the only Garrison Brother’s I don’t like, are the ones that I’ve had. Your description of this one makes it sound pretty good and now I’m “Skeptically Curious”. I’ll have to see if I can find a pour of it somewhere. The one Garrison Brother’s that I own is the Small Batch (silver wax)…..NOT GOOD. Since it’s Double Barreled/Oaked you guys should do a head to head episode against Basil Hayden Toast! 😜. Another great episode guys. Looking forward to you guys going LIVE! Cheers! 🥃🪓

Well, thankfully, this one on sounded like a venereal disease...I was half expecting it to taste like one 🤢

Hey guys! Did you buy this a while back? This thing retails for $180 in Illinois! 😱 There is no way I’d ever pay that kind of money for a craft whiskey unless I read it was BTAC good. Hard pass for me. However, I do appreciate the review out of curiosity. You can get a bottle of OF 1920 for $60. It’s also 115 proof. Cheers!

Definitely not worth 180! It's interesting and maybe a 60 dollar whiskey just because it's unique. I'm not sure when Greg bought it. Doesn't hold a candle to OF 1920! Thanks for watching!

Well, you at least gave us hope for Garrison Brothers, but that price is a super hard pass.
    Thanks for the vid!
    Cheers,

Yeah, their whole lineup is overpriced it seems.
